I just got done with my first appointment, and I literally almost hugged the vet. The staff is AMAZING, caring, educated, attentive, patient and so welcoming. I honestly do not think I could have been put more at ease. I have been having HORRIBLE experiences with my previous vet (located around the corner), so I went in with my guard high. I am switching both my cat and puppy over to this vet.  Not only did they put me at ease, but the interaction they had with my cat (Mav) was top notch. They have 2 separate cat only rooms, with huge cat trees, baskets and even a fish tank for the cats to check out. Those touched made him feel way more comfortable and relaxed. The vet was so good with him, he didn't even react to his shots (big improvement!). I have had some bag experiences with certain vaccines, they listen to me, calmed me down, and even did a special order for one of them. This place is amazing. My only regret is that I didn't start coming here last year when I moved to NY. I trust them completely. Thank you so much, seriously, I feel a million times better now that I've found you guys! This is probably the best vet office I have been to. She always takes the time to listen to me, is gentle with my pets, and gives great advice and different options. I also don't feel like I'm being overcharged there which is huge. Read Less

I was impressed with the reviews so I took my dog there for a visit I waited an hour to see the doctor although I was pleased with the staff and pleased with the doctor I just didn't like having to wait an hour my back was killing me and I couldn't wait to get out of there and it was hot sitting in a room all by yourself with the dog Read Less

My family has been to the Village Vet twice now and we love Dr Kristen!! Originally, I took my cat here when he was having a hair loss problem, and they were amazing!! We were a bit worried because he had not been to the vet in quite a while and we were worried they would be upset he hasn't had proper check ups- but they were great!! They were able to help my cat get better and grow his hair back!  For the second time we took our dog who was having leg problems (originally we thought a torn ACL), and she helped us so much to re-diagnose our bud with arthritis, and said that he never had a torn one in the first place! Our buddy is so much better now with proper care, we owe a ton to her!!Dr Kristen is the most AMAZING bet ever!! She is so kind and good with animals! We are so glad we are with her practice now!!! We brought our 10 week old Female Cocker Spaniel for her initial check up. The two receptionists there couldn't have been nicer. They came individually so as not to scare this young pup. Gave her so much loving that her tail was wagging so fast it looked like a blur. When the Vet came out, she was so gentle, so loving it was a pleasure to watch. She got her shot, and a nasal spray. plus meds for fleas & Ticks & heart worm. We talked about diets, Her teeth, she has a small over bite, Went over her ideas of what this little Cocker needed to grow up to be a healthy dog. Then asked if we had any questions or concerns. This is a wonderful place. Our little Cocker was so comfortable with everyone there, it was just amazing. Great staff, great Vet. I made a great choice for our Pup. Read Less

Onyx, my dog visited Dr. Kirsten since 2012. The attention at this office was always kind and professional, but when I needed it most, the last June and July, when my dog had to be put to sleep because of cancer, even under difficult external circunstances, Then, their help, love, and attention was incredibly helpful. I do not have words to express my apretiation for Dr. Kristen and the Vet staff on how humane and sensitive they were under those circunstances. Not only I reconmmend Dr. Kirsten as a professional due the good care of my dog when he was alive, but I will recommend them much more because their great human condition. Never had a good experience at this vet. Have been there twice, they were not welcoming at all, and had no compassion. Then when we had an emergency situation it felt like they couldn't be bothered with helping us. I asked if I should bring my dog to be treated at an emergency clinic or if I should wait until they were able to see them and the response of the receptionist was "I don't know what to tell you." Dr. Reust is the best vet that I have ever had. She and her team truly care about you and your animals and don't rush you out the door. My dog was recently diagnosed with a cancerous tumor and if not for her and her team I don't know what I would of done. But when you walk in the door and the entire staff knows your fur babies names and shower them with love it makes it easier. Thank you all for everything you do and have done!! Read Less

I had been going to a vet in Grand Island, but when my dog had gotten very sick and they refused to see him on short order I came here. They took him right in and treated him. This vet was recommended by my mother who had been bringing her dog here for many years. They were very professional to deal with. I have now made three visits in four short weeks (all of which have been urgent/emergencies) and would not go see another vet. They are reasonably priced and very professional. It is just one vet. So you will need to have an alternative for after hour emergencies. But if you live in Lewiston and need a vet that is convenient, professional, and reasonable, this is the perfect option. Read Less

Wonderfull. Doc Kristen is the best and my dogs love going there. They don't take your dogs to another room like alot of other vets to hog tie them but do everything in front of you and your pet. If you are looking for a Vet, please consider one with better hours and days. My dog needed care and I was told I had to wait a few days for an appointment, because they had no openings, even though he was a patient. Then I learned they were also closing on Thursdays. Most Vets are open 5 full days a week, plus half a day on Saturday. Sometimes you need to hire another Vet so you can accommodate especially in this type of business. I drive now 30 miles just to have a Vet I can rely on if my babies are sick and in need of attention immediately. Read Less

I received more answers in the hour and a half that I was there today than I have in the past almost two years I've been struggling with my one dog. It was such a relief to find a vet that actually cares and wanted to find the source of the problem instead of just giving steroid shots. So far, I've only taken my dog once for an introductory visit, but we had a great experience. When we first arrived, the first thing the receptionist did was take Shadow's picture for his file - I think that's great. It makes it seem like they are personally invested in my dog and knowing who he is. The vet tech was great with him - giving him pets and making him feel comfortable.When Dr. Kristen Ruest came in, she spent a lot of time with him and answered my questions (which I had a lot of - I'm a nervous dog parent!). She got down on the floor with Shadow and gave him pets and attention to make him feel comfortable and calm. She was really great with him. Dr. Ruest was always really great to me. We're new to the area and I mentioned that to her. She provided me lots of information on where to take Shadow for 24-hour emergency visits, training, grooming, dog parks - and whether or not he should take a dip in the Niagara River. These are all things that have been very beneficial to me as I get used to the area. What takes it over the top for me is that Dr. Ruest remembered Shadow. We ran into her one evening while she was out with her family and she remembered Shadow, right down to him trying to nibble on her stethoscope at the appointment.
