i have special needs cats, and Dr. Parver and his staff are responsible for at least one small miracle: one cat seemed almost beyond saving. She's now 10 years old. And she's only one of many that i've trusted to the care of this wonderful doctor and his amazing staff. Our Parrot had a severe eye injury on a Saturday afternoon. We called the office and spoke to Jimmy, the technician. He remembered who our bird was and despite their not being a vet available had bring the bird in immediately so he could evaluate the situation. He washed the blood away and set up an appointment for the next day. We were taken in immediately and a thorough examination was done. We were given medications and instructions on how to treat the bird. The charge was the same as it would have been for a routine visit despite all the extra things that were done. I was very pleased with the concern and care that was given to us and our bird. Everyone in the office was very considerate and kind. I would highly recommend this practice for all animals. I would give a 0 if I could. Not very sanitary. My baby went in with NO problems, but came out with infections due to bacteria. I went to another veterinarian and spent more money on fixing the what-could-have-been avoidable problems with thorough handwashing (which should be protocol before handling each and every animal). My 18 year old miniature pinscher Hobie passed away a week ago. I was blessed with a healthy dog for most of his life. I credit my diligent annual checkups and shots, blood work ups and teeth maintenance for his healthy life. A year ago, one morning I noticed he was having trouble walking. I took him right away to Dr. Parver and after blood tests were taken we found out he was in acute liver failure. His readings were 6300 and normal is in the 100 range. He was distressed and it was very sudden and a blood work up less than a year earlier was normal. Dr. Parver and his staff started treatment immediately. Hobie stayed in the hospital for 8 days, and Dr. Parver got his liver levels down to the 600 range. I was relieved and took him home with some strict food guidelines, a couple of short term medications and a box of Denamarin, which further brought his levels down to the 200 range. My dog recovered from this near death experience and I had another year of life with him. I credit that all to Dr. Parver and his amazing staff. Eventually, although his heart and spirit stayed strong, his little body gave in and I had to let him pass. Thank you Dr. Parver you and your staff are truly amazing and I am forever grateful. Amazing staff and Dr.Parver is great. The work he did on my Doberman's was awesome. A bit pricey. His surgical techniques are on point. My doberman Callisto had surgery on her head for a hematoma and they're no scars at all. The kindness to my old boy was so special it was time to say goodbye and they allowed all the time needed. I wish I could give a good post But I cant!!! I have tried this vet on & off for several years between my regular vet and I have had very bad experiences every time One of my pets went for a neutering. The doctor removed only one testical so, my dog had to go back for a second operation to get the second one removed :( how can you not know how to count to 2 ? Then my cat went for a spaying, After she was spayed, the doctor then told us he removed 2 kittens from her uterus. I feel like a murderer. Aren't they suppose to check for pregnancy BEFORE the spaying ? Then my other dog (last time ever going) went for an anal gland infection. Dr Grayson who was a hateful, unfriendly, unloving animal person, rudely manhandled my tiny 3lb dog terrifying her more than she already was and sent her home with just meds for an anal gland infection only for her anal glands to burst days later. Why did I keep going back ? I was stupid. They were close to home and had convienent hours. Never again.Read Less

My dog two hind legs hit by car. Dr Praver has very strong education background and experience . Jimmy , Giovanna and the other staff are very friendly. I brought my dog who was missing for 70 days and found by 2 hind legs hit by car to this hospital . Dr Praver's diagnostic Skill is superb. he explained everything very patiently to me. before he perform treatment, he gave me the estimate of the cost. His staff term are very kind , helpful and animal lover. They answer your questions very professional whatever on the phone or in person. Professional, Respectful, and Friendly This is by far the best veterinarian I have been too. The staff there are amazing, they are always kind and helpful. The office is clean as are the exam rooms. They are always very gentle with the animals. They are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain all treatment options to you. Dr. Parver, whom we bring our pets to, is always a pleasure to speak with and to bring my pets to. I think the best part about this place, unlike other veterinarians, is that they actually give me an estimate with the treatments that they will perform as well as letting me choose what needs to be done. They also take the time to explain the various options, costs, and risks associated with each procedure. Other veterinarians I have been to in the local area never explain my options, the costs, and risks. Other veterinarians never give me an estimate, I just want to know how much it will cost. Perhaps other veterinarians care more about the money or maybe they want to make sure that the animal gets the treatment or maybe both. Not this place. THIS VET SEES FISH...not easy to find a vet that will see aquatic animals but this one does! Staff was friendly and personable and the Dr. handled the fish like a real pro. I will also say that the cost of the office visit was quite reasonable. The Dr. also advised me not to waste my money with certain tests that I requested...so he was not out to just make a buck. Dr. Parver has been our family vet for about 30 years. We can't say enough good things about him and his wonderful staff. We recently had to put down an 18 year old cat who was sick. Even though she was very old, she was a very beloved pet. Dr. Parver was out of town but took the time to call us to make sure that all was okay. Dr. Grayson and the staff was gentle, kind and informative. Explaining every step was so appreciated and made a rough situation a little easier to handle. We have a disabled dog and Dr. Parver and his staff have been just wonderful in caring for him. Caring for Andy requires a lot of time and attention, and much more involvement due to his disabilities. Whenever we need to leave him overnight, we are always confident that he will be treated just like he would be in our home. Andy's disabilities leave him prone to various medical issues and Dr. Parver has always been able to not only diagnose and treat these issues, but has also helped to prepare us and to educate us what to look for. Definitely do not recommend this vet The only reason why I brought my new puppy here was because I got a free visit from the pet shop I bought her from that included some vaccines and medical coverage for a month ( hey vet visits are expensive ) I figured a vet in Little Neck placed in between gorgeous mansions, where the clientele are wealthy I pictured a state of the art facility, what do I have to loose? Boyy was I wrong I drive up to a shack, that might I add has no parking. Where I was barely greeted by the young kids at the front desk (maybe I'm being nice, not young per se but acting like little kids? Talking about their personal life and work schedule when a new patient walks in- rudee)After filing out a flimsy paper, we're called in. The vet looked like he was in a rush with a baseball cap on. He Barely even did an assessment ; Turns out my puppy had an ear infection, if it wasn't for me telling him what to check my baby probably would have gone untreated. I needed to prey information out of him What can I do to prevent ear infections ? - "uhh well see lets just do antibiotics for now and you'll come back in 4 weeks"What are these vaccines for? - " you know basic puppy vaccines" WtffffThankful I called my primary vet and got all the information I needed We will DEFINITELY not be back Read Less

I've been taking my 2 year old blind cat here for 18 months...I take her for monthly nail trimmings, yearly shots and I have had her hair groomed twice. The nail trimming is fine. Even the shots no big deal. The last grooming was a bit traumatic for her. I believe the groomer went a little too close to her bottom. My visits are always fast. The reception area is clean and I am always greeted with a smile. The female doctor was very caring and explained her condition in depth. Read Less

I have a 6 month old bearded dragon named Penny who was suffering from both a cut on his tail and tail rot. I called them around 11:30 am to see if they had any exotic vets on site. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly and spoke clearly. She said she can put me in for the same day at 12:30 which was perfect because I was already panicking. She asked for my name and my pets name and told me she will see us in an hour. Parking was pretty easy to find. I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out forms. The friendly secretary already knew who I was and said Hi to Penny. I was seen at exactly 12:30 pm. The doctor was friendly and knew what he was talking about. He was even concerned about the AC and the cold examination table and put a T shirt underneath my dragon so he wouldn't get too cold. I showed him what was wrong and what I have been doing. He said it was a good thing that I was soaking the tail in diluted Betadine but that my dragons tail had to be amputated. He showed me where he would cut and that he will need to do it immediately. He said it is cold in here so we are going to need to do this in the next 20 minutes. Before he went any further he gave me a print out of each procedure and how much it would cost me. He said it will take about an hour maybe less. He told me to stick around the area and that he would call me when Penny was done and ready. I left the office and walked up to the shopping center and had a bite to eat. I received a phone call from him at 1:20 pm and he said I can pick up Penny in about 20 minutes. When I arrived I paid the secretary what was due and followed the doctor to the back office. He had penny in a glass habitat with a heating pad underneath her, covered in a few paper towels. He said he would be okay and to call him in the morning to let him know what's going on. I took him out of the habitat and wrapped him in the T shirt. He walked me to the door and held it open for me and bid me farewell.My experience was great. I was in and out and the doctor took the extra steps regarding the cold temperatures and Penny tail.
