Today was a hard day as my 15 year old pup passed away without much notice. I called All Creatures to bring her in and have her ashes made.. when I called and told the woman my dog just passed she said ok can you hold on?... I was in shock as most people would express their condolences to a grieving owner. I proceeded to hang up because I would not give my business to a place with no empathy. This review is for Dr. Lewis Gelfand- we just filed a complaint with the Long Beach Police Dept for the most outrageous threatening behavior we have ever come across. My dog was taken in last week to remove a large wart, he told us she did not need a cone around her head to prevent opening the sutures, and that if she licks it to use a t shirt. We paid $360. We used a t shirt all week and in the middle of the night last night the sutures opened and she had a bleeding gaping wound had to take her to emergency vet where we paid an additional $400 to get staples to stop the bleeding and they sent us back to all creatures to follow up today. They were shocked that we were not given a cone at all creatures. At all creatures Dr Gelfand recommended leaving the staples - ( he made this decision not even sure if the vet last night cleaned properly) and watch for infection. I said no I want it properly stitched up again to avoid infection he said ok. My mother picked up my dog I was home on the phone with her when she said they are charging us $260 for today. I asked to speak to him on phone. I explained kindly that we just paid $400 last night when we didn't do anything wrong per his instructions and her stitches opened up, and we paid $360 last week so can he please work with us on today- he was foaming at the mouth yelling at me right away on the phone that it's not his fault we got ripped off and paid $400 for some staples- telling me I shouldn't have gone there -he yelled that they did not even clean it yesterday (he was ready to send her home originally risking abscess not even sure if it was cleaned properly) and yells more at me that it's not his fault and we have to pay - then hug up on me. My mother then came home with the dog to tell me that it got far worse- she told him not to yell at me and he came running in from the hallway screaming at her violently so threatening that the receptionist got up to block him from my mother because it looked like he was going to hit her. The staff was so shooken up they didn't even know what to say about charging they said it's fine she could leave while he screamed GET HER OUT OF HERE!!!! This is a doctor ?????? This is a professional human being screaming and threatening at pet owners??????  After their dog has to go through more trauma because HE did not give the right follow up instructions!! We have never in our lives been treated this way!!!  gone are the days where men can get in women's faces and intimidate them by yelling at them without the law getting involved. An Organization with a soul!! My wife came home to our 16 year old dog having some sort of seizure. We needed to have her put to sleep. At 7:45 (they close at 8PM) my frantic wife called and they told her to bring her right in. They not only comforted my wife but waited 45 minutes for me and my daughter to get there for our "Good Byes". They were a compassionate crew (Eileen and Dr. Ray and staff that evening) and I cant thank them enough. The beauty of this is my dog was never a patient of theirs. We would only buy her food there. Can't say enough about Dr. Ray and All Creatures Veterinary Services. I called first thing on a Saturday morning, concerned about an issue my cat was having. Olivia at the front desk told me to bring him right in. The office is very clean. Dr. Ray was kind, patient and very gentle with Patches. His calm demeanor instantly put both my husband and I at ease. Fast-forward three days, and Patches is doing GREAT! All Creatures has caring staff and great doctors! They saved my last dog's life one night after she got some injections earlier in the day at my previous vet. They treated her immediately and stabilized her, keeping me informed every step of the way. Much later, when she passed on and I got a new dog I decided to use All Creatures as my primary vet. Took my cat for his first visit soon after we adopted him. The female vet who came in did a quick physical exam and started to look concerned as she claimed she felt a dangerous lump near his abdomen. She suggested multiple unnecessary tests that would have cost me hundreds. I told her I would think about it. Afterwards 2 techs came in together to rip out a few pieces of hair for a sample and shove a q-tip in each ear to check for mites. Since our cat gave a struggle they acted so irritated and were just rude about the whole thing. After that one visit I will never go back. I luckily switched to a different veterinarian hospital that offers kind, compassionate care. Read Less

I am very pleased to highly recommend All Creatures Veterinarian Services in Long Beach. Whether our dog, Charlotte is just not feeling quite right, or we need to board her for a few nights, the staff at All Creatures has always been helpful and very competent. My most recent experience has been with Dr. Ray and each time he met with me about Charlotte, I felt very confident that his prescribed treatment was right on the money. I also have to commend the front desk personnel as well as the Veterinarian Technician, Liz, who did a great job making our Charlotte comfortable and "happy" to be at the vet. My dog received a careless examination during which the vet got cleansing solution all over my dogs eyes and showed no compassion to my whimpering, troubled dog. The front desk staff were complaining about other customers on the phone while I was waiting to be checked out and were over all rude, unprofessional, and unfriendly when I dealt with them. A few years ago my 2 dogs were patients at a DIFFERENT practice in Bellmore. While I always felt comfortable bringing them here  at one point I needed a 2nd opinion and went to All Creatures in Long Beach.  It's a half hour ride each way, but well worth the trip for peace of mind.TAKE NOTE.  Same procedure; yet 2 totally different experiences........Our dogs quality of life shifted and we knew it was time. I never had anything to compare this process to, but was pretty upset at the way it was done. Our old vet in Bellmore placed our 13 year old Bearded Collie on the medical table and spoke with us about what was to come. He injected Disney (who weighed about 60 pounds) while we were petting him (he was standing, as he was nervous and wouldn't sit). The medication worked SOOO incredibly fast, that our dog just 'dropped' literally, dropped on the table. A few minutes later another injection and the Dr.  pronounced him gone. To this day, I feel terrible at how an ending.....a sad moment became a horrible memory ..... by the way he was put to sleep.  Cold, very cold!!We came to All Creatures, located in Long Beach after several of the Drs. in the Bellmore  group couldn't seem to diagnosis my other dog a a year later. We learned immediately after changing vets she had pancreatitis and eventually Cushings and Diabetes. She lived an additional 4 years under All Creatures care.I thought I knew what to expect when her quality of life shifted and the time had come to put her to sleep. I had a pit in my stomach making the call and of what was going to go on.......... BUT we were unprepared and totally blown away by the warmth, patience, love and integrity that Dr. Geltman AND his staff showed us. The staff had a small blanket on the floor, and injected our dog to relax her. They said it would take about 10-15minutes to relax her. Monique and another vet tech came in to check on us and talk to our girl. They left us with her; coming in every few minutes. She was nervous, but soon seemed to relax, even wagging her tail. She eventually laid down with us on the blanket they provided. She was just so calm. The assistant called the Dr. back in and he then injected her with the dose of medication that helped her to finally RIP. In my opinion ALL vets AND staff should be trained to euthanize an animal THIS way. While we all left that room that day sad, we were so at peace with the process. Read Less

My boyfriend's coworker referred us to All Creatures as our usual vet (that we'd been using for 6 years) wasn't equipped to do X-rays. I was really pleased with our experience. Everyone there, from the front desk, to the vet techs and the doctors go above and beyond. The initial consultation with Dr. Geltman went very well, so we brought our dog in for X-rays and since he was going under and he needed a dental cleaning, we did it all at once. Needless to say we were nervous, but the team was compassionate, patient and have such confidence in what they do that it put us at ease. When we picked up our dog after his procedure, he seemed very well cared for - they even cut his nails and one of the vet techs mentioned that she cuddled with him while he was recovering, which I very much appreciated :) We will be using All Creatures as our primary vet going forward. I continue to travel all the way from Brooklyn to visit All Creatures because Dr. Geltman is the best vet around.  He is honest, not in the least bit pushy, has a holistic approach to treatments which I greatly respect and is very knowledgable. He takes his time with you and is always helpful. Having a vet tech background I am VERY picky about vets as I worked with some of the best, but I can honestly say Dr. Geltman is up there on my list. I have been a client for 20 years. Many good qualities with the Dr's and the staff. They call back when they say so. They take the time to actually get to know the pet, no rush in rush out, they let the animal (in my case two dogs) get comfortable before any exam begins They are not pushy in regards to vaccinations as I do not vaccinate my dogs any longer due to my own research. They are very open minded as far as listening to what you (the client) have to say/offer in regards to what research you may have done on your own People often complain about price (in other aspects of life as well) but if the product in this case is care for my dogs then why would the price matter ? I feel like they're always up charging. Took my dog in when she was showing stomach distress (turned out she had sand compaction).  They didn't diagnose correctly even though I reported taking her to beach day before and then when I called back to ask if the treatment course should still be the same given we now knew what it was, doctor didn't get back to me for two days!! We had to basically guess how to treat her for those two days.We talked at length about costs and after paying/agreeing on $400 worth of care, I received a bill for another $65! When I called, they were like whoops- they probably forgot to add it in.Will not be returning. Read Less
