The staff genuinely cares about the animals and knows us by name. We're in there a lot with 4 dogs so we appreciate that their prices aren't designed to break the bank. They have laser therapy which helped our old great Dane's arthritis and muscle deterioration immensely. The Dr's are super knowledgeable and nice. Macedon Veterinary Care has been a part of our family for many years. Growing up, Dr. Oros attended to my family's dogs and cats. Since relocating back to the Finger Lakes, my husband and I decided the trip to/from Canandaigua is worth it for the friendly office and excellent care provided by the staff and veterinarians here. When our cat Blair needed end-of-life care, Dr. O provided compassionate care and helped me feel comfortable during such a difficult time. When welcoming a new cat into our household, we received great tips on integrating him and meeting his care needs. I feel the vets truly consider what is best for my pets - recommendations are reasonable and pricing is fair for services, goods and medications. The staff's actions reflect the care and concern they have for animals above everything else. I was very unsure about calling and setting up an appointment with a new vet for my fur baby Bandit. I normally have plenty of time to do my research and look around for the best I can find. This time wasn't the case, my poor baby got really sick before I had found him a new vet. I spoke with my friends in the area and looked up this office, honestly I am so happy I did! The way they treated us on our first visit means everything! They were very loving and gentle with my boy and made him feel so at ease. They called me the next day to check on him and told me to expect another check up call tomorrow. Never had such a great experience at a vets office before! I have a cat with a urinary problem. I apps made for 2 of them and the soonest they could see them was a 2 week. My cats had no food and touch can only get it with prescription and denied me food till after the appt. So I had to change vets! It's not my fault they had no appt. Read Less

We have been taking my pets to Macedon Vets for years and absolutely LOVE Dr. Zagursky and the staff there. Everyone is always helpful, polite and cares about our furry family. Dr. Zagursky has a natural touch with our dogs and genuinely cares for her patients. Because of her patience, we no longer have to muzzle our Rottweiler for her appointments. With two new 12 week old puppies in tow, my daughter and I were greeted by the patient and friendly front desk staff for our appointment.  The vet assistant and the doctor were both very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.  Shout out to the vet assistant who so kindly cleaned up after the puppies had many accidents.  We enrolled in the pet plan they offered, as it is a good deal for the money.  We definitely recommend them.  Cooper and Bandit will be returning for their checkups. I am a foster for a rescue, and as such, I have been to quite a few different vets in the course of the past year. I have only been here once, and for an emergency appointment. They were wonderful! They worked with the dogs discomfort to find the best way to examine him and treat him. The staff was friendly and the office was clean. They asked questions no vet has asked me before, pertaining to the care of the pet, and actually listened to the responses! And tho it was an emergency appointment, pricing was better than I expected, or rather, have come to expect from other vets. I never thought I would find another vet who would be as awesome as the one I worked for 20+ years ago, until I met Dr. Oros and Dr. Z! I have seen them take so many emergencies and walk-ins that they not only miss lunch, but dinner as well, and stay way past their "official" end time, and then come in early when their patients need them. They truly care for each animal they see, and try hard to educate every client on the best ways to care for their fur babies. I have observed their sadness when the time comes to assist in the cross over the bridge, and their willingness to take an animal in, and help them find a forever family. Everyone who works there, from the doctors, managers, and techs, to kennel and reception strive every day to give their all, through their own lack of sleep and personal tragedies, the chaos of trying to fit in everybody who needs to be seen immediately, in addition to regular exams, and still maintain a happy, professional demeanor. Everybody chips in to do whatever needs to be done, day after day. We have all had to surreptitiously wipe away tears after cases of abuse, or heartache, and go on to the next patient with a smile, while a portion of our heart continues to bleed and break. I will always be in awe of medical personnel who do what they do, and stay halfway sane. I am honored to be a very small part of such an amazing team! I can't tell you enough how lucky we are to have Macedon Veterinary Care so close. My fiancé and I each have a dog. Recently, my dog stopped eating. I took him to "my" vet (Not Macedon Veterinary) and they checked him out with a few recommendations. The next day, my fiancé came home to find my dog with severe facial swelling. When my fiancé contacted "my" vet, they could not get him in.......during normal business hours. I was beyond upset and stuck at work unable to leave. My fiancé then called "his" vet and brought him straight there. They were able to get my Porky in right away. They treated him within 5 minutes and even called me with an update. Moral of the story, our dogs will both be coming to "his" vet (Macedon Veterinary Care) from now on.Read Less
