As a veterinary technician I am privileged to have worked with many wonderful veterinarians, but Dr. Little is truly one of the very best! She is very patient with this anxious owner and my very saucy kitty. She has a very calming presence and is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, and goes out of her way to make sure that every detail is taken care of. Everyone at Homestead is so friendly and welcoming, and the technical staff is top notch. The hospital is clean and tidy. All this and the prices are also very fair. It doesn't get any better! I feel very fortunate to have access to such excellent and compassionate care for my beloved pets.

My review is based on my experience with Dr. Little. We used to see her at Shaker Animal Hospital in Latham and recently found out she was no longer practicing there(which I was honestly happy to hear because the only reason we kept going there was for her!). She is seriously the BEST vet I have ever dealt with hands down! She TRULY CARES about the animals and is not afraid to get her hands dirty to help them at all. I have four rescue dogs, one of them Theodore aka "Theodorable".... has been taunted with horrible allergies for years. We had taken him to other vets and NONE of them provided the thorough exam we finally received from Dr. Little. He had a constant on and off ear infection and horrible skin infections (at times his whole body looked like one big hive).... it was so sad. His ears would be bloody from him scratching them. Several other vets at Shaker Animal Hospital vets prescribed antibiotics over and over but when we met Dr. Little she was the only one who took a culture of his ear so she would know better which antibiotic to prescribe. She spent at least 10 minutes on each ear just cleaning them. He was so nervous because he has been poked and prodded but she was so gentle and sweet with him that he literally leaned into her when she was on the floor with him. She spent time explaining food and medicine options and never made us feel rushed. She prescribed Apoquel, as well as an antibiotic based on the culture and ear drops along with a special diet. He has been so good now! He is like a new dog. I can't tell you how relieved we are (as is he!!!!! ). I was so happy to hear she left Shaker because that place is highly disorganized and obviously they aren't nearly as good as Dr. Little because none of the many we saw there were able to properly identify Theo's proper medications and food. That being said, I can't speak to this Vet as a whole because I've not been there yet. I will definitely be taking my dogs to Dr. Little in the future and once I do, I'll update the review based on the whole organization. I will say however if they are all like Dr. Little, this place is a GEM!!!!!

The staff at Homestead are very friendly, professional, and caring. I bring my cat to them for all of her routine visits, and they also did a great job with an oral surgery for her. They even took the time to follow up regularly via phone during recovery.
They take the time to be thorough during appointments and, when necessary, explain all treatment options (and costs) and are sure to answer all questions. Always a great experience!

Can't say enough great things about Homestead. My three cats are current clients and in the past they've cared for our Husky (rip Summer). Once my fiance and I found an abandoned cat and Homestead was so helpful, helping us check for a chip, taking us in without an appointment to make sure she was FLV - before we took her home to foster. They are always so caring and sweet, couldn't imagine taking our kids anywhere else. <3

Homestead is by far the best animal hospital we have been to. We have been to quite a few but none are up to par with this one. The minute you walk in you are greeted by the amazing staff up front. Each and every one of them treat our animals as if they were one of their own. Doctors and vet techs are awesome and the prices are very reasonable. We recommend homestead to all our friends and family

They always make my kids feel comfortable, always remember their names, and of course the goody treats they give them. They have pulled my dogs thru some tough spots, and I am very thankful. They took great care of our dogs (all 6 of them) while we were clients, before our move to TX. This includes a major surgery on our Min Pin- the follow up care they provided was exceptional and, rather than treating her like just another dog,they loved on her which is especially important when dealing with a rescue dog.

The veterinarian at this facility was very knowledgeable and also very caring and kind to my pup. I would highly suggest this location to anyone as my family has been using them for years. So my dog had to go in for surgery they could tell I was nervous when I drop them off in the morning they were so kind they sent me text messages photos of him happy in his cage after he came out of surgery and that he was doing well they got in contact with me in the entire time and they were super nice they text message me throughout the day to tell me how he was doing and that he would be ready by five it was an absolute pleasure which could've been an absolute nightmare if my dog did not come out of surgery Healthy and healed. The bill was lower than they had earlier estimated it was going to be. This is such a great location.

Let me start by saying my dog is my best friend, and I can't imagine a better group of people to trust the care of my best friend to.I've been to a large number of vets, literally across the country-- the compassion, knowledge, expertise and friendliness of this firm would impress anyone. Dr. Nelson is simply the best I've encountered *anywhere*, as are her staff.Also, the facility is new, clean and spacious. I wish my doctor's office was this nice!

As a veterinary technician I am privileged to have worked with many wonderful veterinarians, but Dr. Little is truly one of the very best! She is very patient with this anxious owner and my very saucy kitty. She has a very calming presence and is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, and goes out of her way to make sure that every detail is taken care of. Everyone at Homestead is so friendly and welcoming, and the technical staff is top notch. The hospital is clean and tidy. All this and the prices are also very fair. It doesn't get any better! My review is based on my experience with Dr. Little. They took great care of our dogs (all 6 of them) while we were clients, before our move to TX. This includes a major surgery on our Min Pin- the follow up care they provided was exceptional and, rather than treating her like just another dog,they loved on her which is especially important when dealing with a rescue dog.

I thought the transition of the change at Homestead would be overwhelming after the many years of depending on Dr. Pam Nelson and her staff, Rylee's annual exam today was exceptional, with love and devotion of Dr. Amy Bergin and of course Julie. Dr. Pam will be truly missed and I wish her the very best as she begins another journey in her life. Best wishes to the entire staff in the years to come.

I adopted them from a rescue group at the lovely ages of 10 turning 11 and Homestead has helped me keep them healthy and still acting like puppies! These are my first true dogs, my first fur babies and I'm so glad I found a place that loves them as much as I do! Thank you for all that you do!! The veterinarian at this facility was very knowledgeable and also very caring and kind to my pup. I would highly suggest this location to anyone as my family has been using them for years. So my dog had to go in for surgery they could tell I was nervous when I drop them off in the morning they were so kind they sent me text messages photos of him happy in his cage after he came out of surgery and that he was doing well they got in contact with me in the entire time and they were super nice they text message me throughout the day to tell me how he was doing and that he would be ready by five it was an absolute pleasure which could've been an absolute nightmare if my dog did not come out of surgery Healthy and healed. The bill was lower than they had earlier estimated it was going to be. This is such a great location.

Said my cat had a stroke, this wasn't the vet, it was a tech. Brought cat to different vet and it was an ear infection. Made me think my cat was going to die. Awful experience

Let me start by saying my dog is my best friend, and I can't imagine a better group of people to trust the care of my best friend to.I've been to a large number of vets, literally across the country-- the compassion, knowledge, expertise and friendliness of this firm would impress anyone. Dr. Nelson is simply the best I've encountered *anywhere*, as are her staff.Also, the facility is new, clean and spacious. I wish my doctor's office was this nice!
