Today we were informed that because we live East of the Sagtikos Parkway, the first few Vet visits would no longer be covered. What was most disturbing, was the reason given... "client retention."So, I could live in Manhattan, the Bronx or Staten Island, but not East of the Sagtikos Parkway.  This policy does not makes any sense, but as she was told today "it is in the fine print." Terrible!!!! So awful. Granted, the people dealing with the phones who pick up are nice enough and helpful with scheduling. But omg, for our first visit there, they gave us some amateur incompetent guy who looked about 25. My puppy wasn't eating right and kept having diarrhea. As a first time pet owner, I was super anxious and had a ton of questions. He basically let me answer my own questions the entire time and I had to prod him non stop for him to provide explanations and he'll just be like yeah uh huh yup. I was getting so frustrated and the assistant was pissing me off too with an attitude. He was so not experienced!! And for giggles, he just gave her another shot for the sake of it to the point that when I switched to my next vet place, she was like wtf why does she have this many shots already?! Fine, gave it a second chance with another doctor based on the bios I read on their site. I didn't go to this appointment, but my mother went on my behalf with my puppy and said she just made them uncomfortable because she wasn't friendly at all and didn't do a thorough examination. And on top of that, the things they tried to sell us for our puppy, which we ended up getting, was like three to four times more expensive than what we could have gotten on Amazon!!! What a scam. I moved on to the animal hospital in New Hyde Park and I have zero regrets about that. The only reason why we went was because the pet store we got my puppy from said they have a great contract with this vet place and they have the best doctors and any vaccinations needed would already be covered and free. Not even worth it for their complete incompetence! I might even post their names later once I get the chance to look back on my appointments. Read Less

They are VERY expensive; however, they are nice and seem to care about your pet. A cheaper and faster alternative with the same results is Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury. For a two day stay at CVA my dog was clearly diagnosed, whereas, in when I took her to Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury no overnight stay was required and they did the same things CVA did. Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury sent me home with required meds and diet recommendations. They even called me to see how my pet was doing. CVA had required times for me to call in. All I can say is LESSON LEARNED.Read Less
