I stopped going to this place because although they are very nice, they shake you down. Be prepared for them to try and up sell you on excessive medications and treatments while making you feel guilty if you don't. If your animal is sick they will tell you everything it COULD be. Then they will offer to treat all those things, Without offering any sort of guidance as to what the issue probably is, or where a good place is to start treatment to rule out most things. Anyways fast forward to today I have a cat that most likely needs a tooth extraction. I decided to call around for a ballpark price. I called an they said the tech needed to quote me a price, and he would call me back and get more information. He called me back. Pronouncing my name, and my cats name wrong. Spent 15 min on the phone with the guy Trying to get a quote. Asking hardball questions like 'So if I go in there, and your doctor says that a tooth needs to be removed roughly how much will it cost?' The response was. 'Bring your cat in. We'll check her out for $100 and if she needs a tooth extraction we'll quote you that after' So basically $100 for an estimate. I get that there's variables to the estimate equation but this place is a scam designed to take every cent they can from you. Read Less

Very attentive, concerned staff (from the doctors to the receptionists), always actively seeking the best health options for your pet. Multiple doctors on staff. Several exam rooms available. Usually able to schedule a visit pretty quickly (soon) according to the situation. Vet also has Saturday hours, in addition to an on-call service outside of their regular business hours. Services are pretty expensive, but that is true of most vets, and I feel like I'm getting good value for what I'm paying. Vet has a supply of pet toys and food on site for cats and dogs, including some "prescription" foods. Has comfortable waiting area, though you usually don't stay there very long. The checkout counter (where you pay for the visit) has hookups to allow you to attach a leash so that you don't have a pet tugging on your arm while trying to pay. HIGHLY recommend! Read Less

I really thought my dog was going to die and I remember Dr Phillips replying with.. not if I can help it and he was true to his word. He put him on IVs and he did a 360 and for that I will be forever grateful to Nassau vet.  My dog absolutely loves Dr Dietrich and Alex.  I have to say my boxer has a file full of health issues and Dr Deitrich has gone above and beyond as his vet. Taking your pet to the vet is rarely a pleasant experience. Between the worry that there might be something wrong with your little guy or gal to having to leave your pet behind for the day (or a couple of days) to have work done, it takes a special kind of place to alleviate the stress involved with this process. Nassau Veterinary Clinic is a professional operation on every level. It starts when you're greeted at the door by the clinic staff, all of which standing at the ready with smiles on their faces. The waiting area for patients is clean and organized. In each of my experiences here, I didn't wait more than a couple of minutes before being shown to a private room where you and your pet can both relax. The doctors at Nassau Veterinary Clinic are also fantastic. I worked with Dr. Phillips in identifying and correcting a handful of dental issues that had been affecting my cat. Before any procedures were scheduled, Dr. Phillips took the time to meet with me and thoroughly explain his plan, along with the reasons why he felt the procedure was necessary. He referred to contemporary research, presented pictures, and other information as he detailed these plans. This is something that I really appreciated and contrary to all other vet experiences I've had throughout my life. Then, when the day of the procedure arrived, the Clinic continued in providing the necessary support and resources to ensure that everything went smoothly. It was more than just dropping off and picking up my pet - there was a pre-surgery meeting when everything was detailed and specifics were confirmed, I received a call halfway through the procedure to report that everything was going fine, and there was also a post-surgery meeting to discuss aftercare. Even after returning home for a couple of hours, the Clinic staff called to make sure that everything was going okay. While this was a pricey endeavor, I would certainly rather pay a little extra to get the treatment that we received. The bedside manner, compassion, and professionalism of the Nassau Veterinary Clinic are truly unparalleled in my experience. When you are faced with the difficult decision of bringing your pet to a vet, you should absolutely make the drive to Nassau. You won't be sorry that you did. Read Less
