Above and beyond care...My husband and I have trusted Dr. Sane with our four dogs for years, despite continuing to move further and further away from their office (from the West Village to Brooklyn, now NJ). We've been through it all  - pancreatitis scares, Cushings Disease, leg amputations, countless teeth extractions and quite frankly, we owe most of our pups' lives to him and his amazing staff. Even though we take our pups to local vets for routine visits and shots whenever anything serious comes up we always go back to Dr. Sane and trust they are in capable and very caring hands. We are forever grateful... Read Less

Dr Sane and crew took the best care of my pup for over 10 years. They squeezed us in for emergencies, and kept us up to date on vaccines and tick stuff. They did a great job on several surgeries at the Hudson location, including laser work and a cancer removal . They also will recommend where to go for specialty surgeries (eye surgery!). Highly recommended neighborhood spot. Any pet in their care is getting the 100% best. Read Less

I originally tried to resolve my issue with Dr. Tracy Sane privately, but his "laissez faire" and defensive attitude was nothing more than an attempt to deflect blame and to rewrite a false narrative. I am only writing this review to lay out the facts so others can make informed decisions when considering to have Dr. Tracy Sane as the person who will take care of their furry friend. Unfortunately, Dr. Tracy Sane's neglect has led to serious issues for our senior 18 year old cat. These issues could have been diagnosed months ago had he conducted a urinalysis, which is a crucial test for all cats suffering from kidney issues. When I raised this issue to him, he acted in a disingenuous manner and implied that he hadn't performed a urinalysis in 1.5 year because her bladder was empty every time we visited. I know this to be false since I made it a point to give our cat her subcutaneous fluids 30 minutes before every visit, which always causes her to have a full bladder in the next hour. We were also present in the room every time he examined her and he never even brought up taking a urine sample. We also take our cat to the vet 4 times a year since she's a senior; so the probability of her bladder being empty every time we went to the vet is probably close to zero. As a side note, he also tried to justify why he had never taken her blood pressure. It's concerning that a vet would fail to perform two of the most important tests (urinalysis and blood pressure) for a senior cat who has kidney issues. The last time we saw Dr. Sane, I insisted on doing a urinalysis since we had noticed blood in our cat's urine. Dr. Sane diagnosed her with a UTI and sent us home with antibiotics. The blood in her urine meant that she had been suffering from a bacterial infection for a long time. It also meant that the bacterial infection was now placing even more pressure on her already weakened kidneys. This could have all been avoided if detected earlier. After this happened, I started doing some research and found that Dr. Sane started practicing in NYC right after being found guilty of gross negligence towards a patient at his former hospital: https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/Actions/20051114_29VI00311200.pdf "Dr. Sane engaged in gross negligence, contrary to N.J.S.A. 45:1-21 (c), which damaged or endangered the life, health, and welfare of Sebastian in that he failed to provide any care or treatment to Sebastian for 2 days while the cat was hospitalized... " While I found this report alarming, it did not surprise me. My friend also stopped seeing Dr. Sane after similar circumstances and I wanted to share my story to hopefully save others from the same fate. No doctor or business owner should go out of their way to blame someone else for their shortcomings or rewrite a history of historical facts just to cover their backside. In a city with so many Veterinary practices, there are more compassionate, thorough and competent Veterinarians and I'd urge anyone to look elsewhere. Read Less

Dr. Sane has been our vet for many years now and is always outstanding, as are all of the other vets at the practice. Our cat recently had to have surgery, and Dr. Sane made sure we were well informed about every single step along the way - he called us right before and after the surgery, and even stayed with our cat overnight at the clinic post-surgery - even though it was a Friday night - to make sure our cat was completely stable and ok. You will not find a better vet who cares more - he is the absolute best vet, and we could not recommend him more. We are so lucky to have found Greenwich Village Animal Hospital and always know our cat is in the best care. Read Less

We got the best service here! They truly went above and beyond to help us. We had just had one cat died recently and it was a very sad and traumatic experience not to mention costly. I say this because although we love our pets (2 cats) like family members we also have a toddler so our finances tend to be stretched pretty thin these days. Our second cat "Kiki" who's brother had passed recently started to decline quickly over the course of a weekend, they were both rescued strays about 13 years old. It was Veteran's day weekend, I found Greenwich Village Animal Hospital online and called them as soon as they opened. They immediately squeezed us in, my husband took Kiki in and unfortunately, it was time to put her down. The vet was caring, honest and respectful giving my husband time to properly say goodbye. He never felt pressured or like they didn't care for Kiki's best interest. When her brother died, we felt like that vet kept pressuring us into different treatments and tests, giving us false hope and in the end we spent thousands to have our cat suffer unnecessarily (he was in pain and miserable.) After all of it, the vet sent us a beautiful hand written card sending her condolences and recently, we got an email from them saying they made us a clay paw print. I would highly recommend them to all my closest friends and family.  As a pet owner for over 13 years, Greenwich Village Animal Hospital has provide my family with some of the best care ever! DO NOT GO HERE. The vets are unprofessional and unkind to both animals and owners. I came in with time-sensitive rat poison case with my dog, and wasted 10 minutes listening to the veterinarian make snarky, disparaging comments from the next room. After that, they told they couldn’t do a full treatment for him, so I should go elsewhere. All I was looking for was quick, responsive care and sound advice, and instead I got a vet with an attitude problem and a lack of concern for my dog. Go to Abingdon Square Vet if you are looking for professionalism, empathy, and high standards of care. Read Less

GVAH has provided professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable care for our pup through multiple scares and long term issues. We took on an older dog a couple years ago and jumped right into the deep end of arthritis, bad teeth, etc. After having a bad experience with another vet in town, we found GVAH. They always treat our family with respect, patience, and honesty.Recently they went above and beyond when we had our biggest scare yet. The team saw our doggo quickly, explained everything they were doing and testing for, and walked us through our options for treatment. After deciding to put him on an iv overnight, Dr. Sane generously offered to watch him along with his other charge. We felt so much better knowing that our puppers was in good familiar hands. Dr. Sane even caught an issue that we'd been struggling with for months. The staff at GVAH has given our little family so much more peace of mind, and has made owning an older dog a lot less scary. I have been coming here with Ziva, my 8 year old chihuahua/corgi mix for almost two years, and don't know why it took me so long to write a review! I first started using this practice about a month after I adopted her, and had an emergency (ruptured glands). The wonderful staff saw her immediately, which put my mind at ease. Since then, they have always been there for her. I have always been able to get last minute appointments, even on the weekends, which is fantastic. You can tell that everyone here, from to doctors to the techs, are truly invested in the animals they care for. My questions are always answered, even if I call for something "silly" over the phone. They are also very responsive over email. I would highly recommend this practice for your fur babies!! Read Less

I've never experienced a more caring, compassionate, honest, loving, and knowledgeable veterinarian and staff, as Dr. Sane and the bunch at Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. On September 7th, my little guy Rico, a French Bulldog, had laser surgery for his Stenotic Nares, Soft Palate and Tonsils.  Dr. Sane embodies the meaning of consummate professional.  Prior to the actual surgery, during our consultation, Dr. Sane took the time to answer every single question I had, and I could immediately sense his expertise, but above all else, his deep compassion and love for his patients--he even shared that if in the event Rico would need to spend the night, he would spend the night with him--what vet goes to these lengths? The surgery was a success and fortunately Rico didn't need to spend the night. In the recovering days following surgery, Rico had some slight bumps in the road.  Being the "helicopter pet parent" that I am, I immediately reached out to Dr. Sane with concerns and questions-- NOT ONCE did he ignore my questions, in fact, he was out of office, and went above and beyond to ensure my emails were answered and my concerns were addressed.  Dr. Sane even suggested I bring Rico to a local vet, just to double check everything was ok, and suggested I do so at his expense.  Again, what veterinarian does that?!  This alone is testament to his love, and compassion to put his furry patients first.  When Dr. Sane returned, we came in for a follow up visit. Rico was given a thorough exam from head to tail (no pun intended), things looked good, and he was given an injection for nausea, and some antiemetic medication to go home with. When the visit was over, I went to the desk to pay my bill, and to my surprise, the visit was on them. Now, a week later, my little buddy Rico is good as new! The surgery was a HUGE success and his breathing is perfect! Again, you simply do not find veterinarians like this, especially in NYC.  If you're reading this review to contemplate whether to bring your pet to GVAH or not, you should run, not walk there! Oh, and if you're a frenchie owner reading this... just know, that during my visits to GVAH we must have met more than half a dozen frenchies in the waiting area, in a matter of less than an hour, so just know that they have extensive experience with the breed! Tell Dr. Sane, Rico says hello when you get there! Read Less

After nearly 10 years as a client of Greenwich Village Animal Hospital, I want to make sure others know how fortunate we are to have them in our neighborhood. Over the last decade I have brought 3 cats and a dog to their practice. They have guided me through the care of an elderly cat (20 yrs) who slowly deteriorated, as well as the more sudden decline of another older cat (17yrs), both times seeing me whenever needed, sometimes on very short notice, and keeping the pet (and us) in as little discomfort as possible. I always appreciate their expertise and sage advice, but also their compassion, humor, and their straightforward, clear-eyed evaluation of my pets' health and the options available. No good vet care is inexpensive, especially in NYC, but GVAH has always been reasonable and has never recommended unnecessary tests or expensive optional services. That said, being able to trust and depend on them when my pets are at their neediest is hard to put a price tag on. Their service and compassion has been truly invaluable to my family. Read Less

I cannot say enough good things about these vets. They saved our cat's life and they held our hands throughout the process. She was diagnosed with fibrosarcoma and we were counseled to have her back leg amputated after the tumor was resected. It was a difficult decision but one year later she is alive and well. I took my cat to a Dr.Alison Shea with a constipation problem. The first question asked me was, is he spade--YES---the second thing she noted that his teeth were weak and they had to be removed. After the removal I asked what about his constipation (which I had paid $500 and no cure offered) she proceeded to remove his bowels with her finger. Visit cost $1500. I took my second cat to her and first thing she said OH, HER TEETH MUST GO and she has a tumor. The cat was treated for her tumor $15 00 I refused any tests for cancer, I did not think this was a problem. I than told her that the cat was eating like a vacuum cleaner. I received a very long pause where she said nothing. Two years later the cat was losing weight so I took her to the animal hospital and school at York Ave. I discovered she had a thyroid problem which now was affecting her heart. I could not let her suffer though she seemed happy at 4 pounds. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. A helpless sick animal is not in honest true good hands. Read Less

My cat has been a patient here for 1-2 years, has been in for 3 visits, 2 annual physicals and 1 sick visit (eye infection). Saw Dr. Sane the first time, then another Vet, the name of which is not on their website, and I honestly don't remember, but she was a woman, and most recently Dr. Shea. They were all superb. Each has a different personality, but each has exceptional bedside manner, is thorough, and open to answering questions, ensuring you feel comfortable with your pet's care. I particularly loved Dr. Shea this recent visit, she was awesome and it was probably the happiest I've felt leaving the vet. So helpful, very caring and knowledgeable. I am a medical provider, so I feel I have to warn others to take some of these negative reviews with a grain of salt. Lots of people when they go see their doctor think that an exam is "doing nothing" but in fact they are not realizing that they are paying for that person's knowledge and expertise. So when "all they do is feel the animal and listen to their heart and lungs" that is NOT nothing, that is a medical exam. It seems like nothing to you, because you are not a trained medical professional. But when you write that as a complaint as to why they would or would not charge you for that, all you're doing is showing a lack of understanding and respect. I will come down from my soap box now. In all, great Vet, prices reasonable (for Manhattan that is) and I feel like so far, I feel comfortable trusting this office with the health of my cat, one of the things most dear to me in my life. My experience at GVAH was very negative . My cat  was about 20 years old but he was in good shape: jumped to the bed, pee well but wasn't  eating enough.  I went to GVAH by recommendation and  hoped to help his appetite.  But  after GVAH he suffered for four days and died on the 5th day.  When I called for checkup cost, a desk receptionist  said  $ 70  but I  found later they charged $ 90.  They charged total  $ 700 for tests (blood, urine test & x-ray) and two visits.  I was not sure they were necessary.  I felt they  make $ on my situation. On the first visit, the doctor even said that my cat was in good shape but he suggested blood test and  urine test.  My cat  suffered on the same day because of blood in urine & frequent urination. The doctor told me that  the urine test possibly  caused a bladder infection..He didn't get better.  On the second visit ( 4th day) I asked if he is in emergency situation.  The doctor answered  "No he is Ok". He gave an anti-biotic shot to my cat telling me he will check two weeks later. At this point I was not comfortable because the doctor seemed not to  have a will  to care for my cat and talked about putting him to sleep.  He died next day  because he couldn't pee all night.I spent $ 700 at GVAH hoping to help  him get better,  but he  suffered and died in 5 days. Instead of all the tests he had, I would have appreciated it if the doctor  gave us  helpful advise  and valued an older cat's life in a humane manner..   I don't recommend this hospital. Read Less

I would give this practice a 3.5 stars.  I have been a customer for couple months now and have taken my puppy there for all his initial visits with Dr. Shea.  As a doctor, Dr. Shea is fantastic and super nice.  She has good bedside manners and is willing to answer any and all questions you may have, including taking your calls.  Having said that, the reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because I find the fee schedule quite arbitrary and expensive.  Puppy shots are basically spread throughout the first couple months of the dog's life.  In some visits, I would get charged a full examination fee + the cost of the shots.  On another visit, I was charged for a brief examination fee ($50).  On another visit, I was not charged any examination fee at all.  All the while, the visits/examinations seemed identical.  What's more off putting is that I was charged an examination fee when all the doctor did was touch/feel my dog and listen to his heartbeat.  Barely took 3 minutes and I was charged $50.  While I have nothing else to compare to, the shots themselves seemed reasonably priced.  What did seem expensive and overly priced are the heartworm medications/flea medicine.  DEFINITELY get them online or somewhere else.  Another positive aspect about this practice is that it is open 7 days a week, which makes it convenient.  Overall, I really like Dr. Shea, but I don't think I will be returning here unless I needed to. On Friday, July 4th 2014 I noticed a half-dollar sized matted patch of fur on my dog's right cheek that upon inspection and cleaning, looked like a bite abrasion from horsing around at the run, but by Sunday the 6th, it was 5X the size and inflamed. A friend told me GVAH had Sunday hours...I called and got the 2nd appointment of the day, no problem. No problem on a huge holiday weekend?!?! Nope...and a Sunday, no less.We arrived to a friendly environment (meeting a friend who also uses this vet), discussed the problem with Dr. Shea who is great: warm, understanding, intelligent, confident and great at communication. She inquired as to our dog's behavior (he's a 120lb Rottweiler) as a matter of course for how to approach inspection/treatment, *not* breed prejudice. It was refreshing to work with someone who wasn't flinchy and nervous. We left, the dog was sedated, shaved and examined....diagnosed with a hotspot. A relief. We picked him before the close of business, got some antibiotics and steroid spray, along with a review of his case from Dr. Shea. This could not have been a more easy, pleasant and highly professional visit. Impressive and comforting to this crazy dog owner!I've seen some reviews for this vet that mentions them as being expensive....my bill was $600 and I thought it was reasonable based on treatment, sedation, and meds. Oh yeah...and Sunday availability. As a result of this visit, we have made GVAH our vet. We *had* been going to West Chelsea Veterinary Clinic since 1998. Read Less

On Easter Sunday my little nine year old Boston Terrier started limping after a romp at the park.  Even though I live in Willamsburg, I knew I needed to take her to a vet I could trust, so I schlepped her to Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. She was examined on Monday and had surgery on Wednesday.  It has been two months since her surgery and she just passed her second to last recheck exam with flying colors.Even though it means we have to schlep on the train or take a taxi, it is worth the trip to the Village to take our pup to a vet we can trust.  The waiting area is clean and comfortable--a far cry from what I am used to from the offices available in Williamsburg.  Unlike Olive's other vet, there is no strife or chaos, just confident and comfortable care throughout all stages of the visit.Dr. Sane performed the surgery and not only does he have good bedside manner, he is also intelligent and instills confidence and trust in his skills.Yes, it is expensive, but it is not outlandish and I find it to be comparable to the vet offices in Brooklyn.  Also, my baby is worth it! I would never go nor trust anyone else with my cat.I've been going to GVAH for 5 years. About 4 years ago, my cat had some blockage in her stomach that required surgery. Although I wish I could have stayed with or see her after the surgery, the surgery went very well and Dr. Sane was able to diagnose her with some intestinal valve defect (don't ask me the technical name for it) and by giving us some most valuable advice on changing her diet to a holistic, one protein changed her health and life radically. Without taking drastic measures she leaves with it just fine. I love Dr. Sane for never being dramatic (although I can be coming crying). He is very kind and gentle and always has compliments for my cat (might be to please me, but it works :P).  And most importantly, I trust him and know he will only do what is truly necessary, never pushing me to take extreme measures unless it's the only option. Not like a lot of other vets I don't trust (UES Animal Medical Center 5 yrs ago when my cat was fine and just went for a vaccine "your cat needs surgery now. If you don't get her a $3,000 surgery now she will die!" it's a hair ball people! I took her home and she's still fine...). Also, got an insurance (Trupanion) so I never have to choose between my budget and her health and GVAH takes care of everything for me.Thank you for everything GVAH. Kisses to Carl. Read Less

This review is a small token of appreciation for Dr. Shea for her skills, dedication and services that rescued my chihuahua literally from death's door. . . STORY TIMEIt started out as an action pack yet romantic weekend for me.  I traveled four hours to Sleepy Hollow for a 10K fun run before meeting up with my boo in the Big Apple.  We ate good food (review to follow), saw a show, rendezvous-ed with a college friend.  It was absolutely wonderful. . . until Sunday morning we were packing out of our hotel on our way to DC that we noticed the chihuahua not being active.Normally she would jump at the chance for a walk, nose her way to affection and devour any food that is in any vicinity of her presence.  So when she wouldn't move when we mentioned the W word, picked up her leash or wave leftover roasted chicken in her face, we got worried. It was any parents' worst nightmare - child sick while on vacation, away from arsenal of contacts and on a Sunday!!!Luckily GVAH was opened on Sunday and they were able to get us an appointment in a couple hours.  Dr. Shea saw us immediately, took action and kept us updated as information (lab results, etc) were available.  She gave us her recommendation but also was mindful of cost without judgement.  When we informed her that we could not afford the intensive care unit starting at $1500/night, she volunteered to spend the night with my chihuahua even giving me her cell phone for me to call at any point throughout the night.Dr. Shea saw that my chihuahua was well cared for and she was able to be discharged to me the next evening.  I am so grateful for the care we received. For those inquiring minds want to know - My chihuahua presented with lethargy, low blood pressure, low heart rate, low temperature and electrolyte abnormalities.  She was treated with copious amounts of fluid for shock and diagnosed with Addison's disease.  She is doing much better now :-) Read Less

Dr Sane is fantastic!! My dog is petrified of all vets (probably due to some trauma from her days as as shelter dog), but he is soooo good with her! Always greets her as ""hey gorgeous!"", and he is so gentle and kind, she actually stops her trembling once he starts looking her over. As the other reviewers say, he tries the least invasive options first, and never pushes unnecessary products or treatments. My dog recently developed ""cherry eye"", which did not respond to medication, so she went in for surgery last week. While it was very traumatic for us both, he did an awesome job and her eye looks beautiful now! He called me himself after surgery to let me know she was going well, and when I called the next day to say that she wouldn't take her pain pills, and to ask if he had any ""less disgusting"" options, he was even sweet enough to provide a new painkiller free of charge (rather than just telling me to learn to forcefeed them, which I expected. She did great on the new pills). We had a follow-up appointment this afternoon, to check on her eye, and to go over the biopsy results for a growth he removed last week. When he learned this morning that the growth was harmless, he called me immediately with the good news, which I appreciated enormously. At our appointment, he decided to just look her over in the waiting room rather than freaking her out with another trip onto his exam table. Then smiled, and said ""she's perfect now! Go home and enjoy your happy healthy dog"". :))) Couldn't ask for more in a vet. Read Less

Sadly, I no longer live in the area and do not bring my dog to GVAH anymore.  However, he has been having some issues lately, which made me think of all the fond memories I have of this facility, and in particular, Dr. Sane.  We got our dog right around the time that Dr. Sane took over the ownership of this practice, so in a sense, we grew into it together, both being new to the place.  From the start, Dr. Sane made us feel welcome, comfortable, and most importantly, he made our dog feel relaxed and in good hands.  He just has great animal and people sense, with strong intuition and openness. All of the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and it's a very well-run facility.  Thankfully, our dog never really needed any serious procedures or treatments, but if he had, I would not have hesitated to have Dr. Sane and his team handle the job.  I would also trust his opinion and any referrals of his wholeheartedly.  He is a true professional, compassionate, and extremely personable.  We will miss him.I can't recommend this place highly enough.  Thanks for everything, Dr. Sane! Dr.Sane and his staff are the greenwich village angels of veterinary medicine. There is a peacefull and welcoming energy that soothed me as soon as I walked in. My partner and I were the proud owners of a lovely 10 month old red nose pitbull angel who was terminally ill with a horrible heart condition that was exagerated by abuse of his first owners. In the short 2 and a half months we owned him, Dr. Sane and his staff did all they could to keep him comfortable but not overdose him with modern meds. I wish that Dr.Sane practiced human medicine , because I really trust him and believe he is the best clinician I have ever met. In today's digital world....very few doctors believe in diagnosing a patient from a clinical assessment. Everybody wants tests, and when those tests are done they want to do some more tests to be sure. Dr.Sane was an accurate diagnoser from the first visit and was not surprised by anything he saw. Dr. Sane at GVAH is an awsome vet. He's taken amazing care of my cat and my dog for years now. He even started treating my dog when he was still working at a feline only clinic because he'd been my vet for so long. He diagnosed and appropriately treated my now ancient cat for two difficult chronic diseases and she continues to live on, despite her body's efforts to quit. AND she's comfortable, happy and cranky as ever. (That's her normal personality, not a result of anything else.) He seems to really love my cat and dog and vice versa. Gave me excellent advice and suffered my stupid new dog mom questions with humor and patience. Got us overseas and back again without trouble from the authorities. What more can I say about the man? He's great! Also, the facility is really nice. Very clean, sterile in all the ways a hospital should be, friendly staff, knowledgeable too, easy, low stress environment for my pet. I never feel like he's making recommendations to jack up a price, in fact, has sent me elsewhere for hospitalization because he felt like my cat needed overnight observation his clinic didn't have at the time. All the right decisions. If you're looking for a good experience, great medicine and a doctor with a conscience, I think you've found him. Read Less

Dr. Tracy Sane is by far the kindest (to people and pets) and most thorough veterinarian I have ever met. As a life long pet owner I can say without doubt that I would have a difficult time trusting anyone else to provide my two cats with such loving care and concern. One of my cats is asthmatic and has not had one attack since Dr. Sane started him on treatment- before he was having attacks 4-6 times per day. Other vets that I had seen before I moved to NYC were unable to provide me with any answers or hope for my furry baby. Dr. Sane was able to immediately diagnose the problem and provide my cat with a very successful treatment. My husband and I have lived in Greenwich Village for two years and I began to go to this vet out of convenience and the fact that it was within walking distance. Dr. Sane's staff is incredibly skilled and friendly, and the facilities are immaculate. I encourage everyone to trust the health of their furry babies to this wonderful business. Read Less

I love Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. I seriously would not trust my dogs to anyone other than Dr. Tracy Sane. He?s friendly, very knowledgeable and honest. I really like how he?s up front about everything and just does what it takes to make your pet better without trying to squeeze an extra buck out of you, which I find a lot of vets in this city are guilty of. I can tell from the way he treats my dog that he genuinely cares about animals. My golden mix is very nervous and Dr. Sane always calms him down right away. His staff is caring and professional as well and were very gentle with my nervous puppy. A couple of months ago, my golden mix had Lyme disease and could barely walk. I was worried I?d have to carry him up the stairs (5 flights) for the rest of his life, but Dr. Sane totally cured him and now he races up there like his old self. I highly recommend Dr. Sane. Read Less

Our cat recently had to have surgery, and Dr. Sane made sure we were well informed about every single step along the way - he called us right before and after the surgery, and even stayed with our cat overnight at the clinic post-surgery - even though it was a Friday night - to make sure our cat was completely stable and ok.

Read Less

We are about to move to the upper east side and I have no plans to find a new veterinarian up there... I will be hopping in a cab and heading to the old neighborhood when necessary to get my kitties the treatment they need. Read Less

I just wanted to add to the positive reviews for Dr. Tracy Sane. He has a soothing presence and always asks about our dog or stops for a pet when we see him around the neigborhood. He is honest about what he does and doesn't know well (Our dog has to see an Ortho specialist). It is clear how much he adores animals, and he even has a way with us humans! We definitely recommend him for a consistent, helpful and kind neighborhood vet. Read Less

Dr. Tracy Sane is excellent. He took over the Greenwich Village Animal Hospital from a wonderful, caring vet who had built up the practice in the preceding several years. She had to leave the area unexpectedly due to family. We opted to give him a try and we are very thankful we that did. We take both of our cats to him. He's very knowledgeable, informative during examinations, and forthright when discussing treatment options. Read Less

Newish owner Tracy Sane is a friendly, funny, highly intelligent doctor who obviously loves animals more than life itself. I am a long-term client who followed him from The Cat Practice (he saved the life of my cat back in 2003), and I'm so happy for the tremendous success he's having now that he finally has a business of his own!

Sane.
