I've never experienced a more caring, compassionate, honest, loving, and knowledgeable veterinarian and staff, as Dr. Sane and the bunch at Greenwich Village Animal Hospital. On September 7th, my little guy Rico, a French Bulldog, had laser surgery for his Stenotic Nares, Soft Palate and Tonsils. Dr. Sane embodies the meaning of consummate professional. Prior to the actual surgery, during our consultation, Dr. Sane took the time to answer every single question I had, and I could immediately sense his expertise, but above all else, his deep compassion and love for his patients--he even shared that if in the event Rico would need to spend the night, he would spend the night with him--what vet goes to these lengths? The surgery was a success and fortunately Rico didn't need to spend the night. In the recovering days following surgery, Rico had some slight bumps in the road. Being the "helicopter pet parent" that I am, I immediately reached out to Dr. Sane with concerns and questions-- NOT ONCE did he ignore my questions, in fact, he was out of office, and went above and beyond to ensure my emails were answered and my concerns were addressed. Dr. Sane even suggested I bring Rico to a local vet, just to double check everything was ok, and suggested I do so at his expense. Again, what veterinarian does that?! This alone is testament to his love, and compassion to put his furry patients first. When Dr. Sane returned, we came in for a follow up visit. Rico was given a thorough exam from head to tail (no pun intended), things looked good, and he was given an injection for nausea, and some antiemetic medication to go home with. When the visit was over, I went to the desk to pay my bill, and to my surprise, the visit was on them. Now, a week later, my little buddy Rico is good as new! The surgery was a HUGE success and his breathing is perfect! Again, you simply do not find veterinarians like this, especially in NYC. If you're reading this review to contemplate whether to bring your pet to GVAH or not, you should run, not walk there! Oh, and if you're a frenchie owner reading this... just know, that during my visits to GVAH we must have met more than half a dozen frenchies in the waiting area, in a matter of less than an hour, so just know that they have extensive experience with the breed! Tell Dr. Sane, Rico says hello when you get there! Read Less
