I am saddened to have to give this place a 1 star review because we've seen 3 vets here whom we liked. Dr. Rutherford is especially caring and my dog loves her, which is very unusual. I should mention that we have a regular clinic we go to, this one was just more out of convenience these last few times. Sadly, the front desk has cost this clinic business, judging by others' reviews as well. Just about every time we've gone in, there was a front desk person talking badly about someone. The older ladies that work during the day are much better, but the younger ones are abysmal. The one chick with clown red hair talked sh*t right in my face either about me or someone else, right at the counter, and right as I said "What was that?", she says "Oh nothing!" Oh ok, so I KNOW you were talking trash. Now, the CONCERNING AND DANGEROUS part and why we will not be visiting this clinic again. Ever. They have twice now confused my file with another person's file. So the way it works is human last name, first name, dog name is on the file. The file they keep confusing ours with has only one thing in common - last name. The first time it happened, we were in for a follow up visit. The vet is speaking with me, asking me what the reason for the visit is, and as I talk, she says "We don't have a record of this. A UTI you said?" So we're both confused at this point, so I lean over and look t the file... sure enough, it was another person's/dog's file. Same last name, ENTIRELY different first name, AND dog's name that is spelled differently (Charley/Charlie). Ok, mistakes happen, I moved on with my life but definitely kept the event in my memory. Fast forward 2 weeks... I go in and ask for a copy of my dog's records late in the evening. Firstly, the girl helping me was confused about the whole situation even after I explained that I am filing an insurance claim for my dog's recent visits. I mean, this is standard procedure and our regular vet clinic is certainly well versed on the procedure. She hands me an envelope in the end, and I leave. I actually cannot believe that I just left without looking first in the envelope, but I did. That night, I sit down to file the claim, open the envelope and ... what the.. heck... neuter?... vaccinations? 7 mnth old puppy? 30 lbs? I was confused as hell because my dog is a 5 yr old, 8 lb dog who had only been to Westside for a UTI. Sure enough, once AGAIN, they confused our file with the other person's file who only has the last name in common. At this point, not only have I wasted my time going in to pick up the wrong docs, but more importantly, this is DANGEROUS! To confuse files of 2 dogs with 2 different ages, weighs, breeds, medical histories TWICE?!?! So i go in the next day and the girl who provided me the wrong docs the day before is there. I explain what happened and also let her know that I'd like to speak with the office manager or whoever is in charge. 20 min later, she appears with my actual docs and apologizes and tries to dismiss me on the low from speaking with the person in charge. She actually tried to get rid of me on the low 3 times. Ha, no. I insist and she goes to get that someone. A vet comes out with both files to speak with me (I forget her name, but I guess she owns the clinic? Maybe name starts with a K? Not sure.) She looks through the files and is like yah, different breed, yadi yada. Mind you, my dog has a history of seizures and several medications and these people CONFUSE HIS FILE WITH ANOTHER DOG's, who by the way weighs nearly four times as much as my dog?! Can you imagine if they prescribed meds and had the dosage for the other, much heavier dog?! I had, in fact, picked up meds from them that I got over the phone. Anyways, I'm talking with her and though she seems interested in the issue, she's flipping through both charts the whole time and is clearly focused on not acting in a manner that could even slightly legally implicate her clinic. Flipping through, flipping through... All I got from her was "We'll straighten it out." At one point, she tried to put blame on the vet whom we had seen the first time the files were confused and I was not letting it happen. No, no, your FRONT DESK is who pulled the WRONG file! As far as I am concerned, they can shred my file because we will not be returning, but in the interest of the other dog, I wanted to make sure that someone knew about the severe incompetence of the front staff that is absolutely DANGEROUS. Seeing that it is the age of social media, I was able to locate the other person to whom the other file and dog belong and share my experience with her for the sake of her dog's safety. Unbelievable that you run a clinic with such unprofessional, trash-talking front desk who also so severely lacks attention to detail that they cannot keep from confusing files on more than one occasion. DANGEROUS! And most sad is that your veterinarians actually seem very competent and caring. Read Less
