We have a Bassett Hound that has become another child in our family. 6 months ago she developed seasonal allergies and the Vet we were using for the last two years treated her accordingly. In short time things got completely out of control and she developed sores all over her body as well kennel cough. I questioned the Vet and said how can all this happen when Molly is confined to our property? How did she develop Kennel cough? I got a ridiculous answer and knew it was time to really find out what was going on. So I contacted OB Hospital and received shocking news that Molly had bacterial infections and needed a round of two antibiotics immediately. I found Dr Lancer to be very pleasant to talk to and was assured he would take care of her and in a few months would have hair growing back and all would be fine. Kathleen who I spoke to at the first call was extremely pleasant and very accommodating in easing my anxiety of taking care of Molly. It’s been a week since her first visit she is visible better and a happier pup. She is 6 we still call her a pup because that’s her personality. So Dr Lancer and your staff thank you as a team, your extraordinary attention to a healthy pup is greatly appreciated. Richard C Oyster Bay NY Read Less

I have been using the Oyster Bay Animal Hospital for my 13 yr old cat Sophie since she came to live with me February 2019. At first Sophie's condition warranted biweekly to weekly to bi monthly visits. Making appointments around my schedule was accommodated  as best as possible. Waiting time  was usually less than 10 mins but most times when I arrived the exam room was being refreshed and in we would be escorted by the technician .  Before I share my opinion about the staff I must say that from the parking lot to the exam rooms this place is cheery and very clean. Even prior to the recent  renovations, it appeared slightly aged but well kept and clean! Each and every staff member is knowledgeable to their job, friendly, professional, and caring. As I said earlier Sophie's condition is on going and there were a few very worrisome visits on my part.Sophie sees Dr. Lancer who has put me at ease on such visits. His care and concern goes beyond visits. He has called on occasions to check on Sophie. He has responded to me when I reached out past the open hours. In my lifetime I have had six cats including Sophie. I have experienced other Vet hospitals in the western Nassau County area and my fur babies were just another cat. Read Less

To this day my heart sinks and I get upset at the last few treatments Dr. Wadyal conducted on my dog Lucky who passed away 3 and half years ago due to cancer. Our precious dog was having skin mites and we didn't know it was an underlying condition due to the cancer. Under Wadyal it was suggested to sedate him and give him a chemical peel every week. At times I would bring my Lucky home with a burned face and one time under poor supervision his tongue partially burned and needed to be chipped of. This caused trouble with eating. Writing this just makes my heart sink and all I want to express is how Wadyal was inhumane and motivated by money to carry on these treatments on a dog who was sick. Read Less

When my husband stopped by to see if he was ready, one of the staff members told him our cat was "bipolar" because he was sweet and later hissed at the staff. Maybe because he didn't eat since the day before, they promised to do the surgery in the morning and now it's 12:00 in the afternoon and still he was waiting for surgery and he ate nothing since yesterday. When we came at 5:30 to pick him up the vet did not tell us that our cat would be drooling and can't walk. After reading the website I was quickly convinced this would be the best place in Long Island for our Australian Shepard who gets plenty of exercise daily and means the world to us. Upon arriving I found myself questioning the validity of their claims. I left feeling shameful for leaving my dog in such small quarters and only receiving 3 walks a day as opposed to outdoor play time. The "play" area is stone- filled, no grass! And dogs go out one at a time. I usually don't comment or bash but if your dog is as special to you as ours is to us, be sure to tour the facilities first. I did do this but was limited on time and was left with no other choice. What turned out to be a 6 day stay turned into a 1 night stay. My dog was so happy to see me the next morning. Working with my fellow employees was great. We had a great time working together as a team and the manager Allison was great to work for. But a steady and fast decline in clients and quality from the Dr. led to people having to find other jobs. Constantly forgetting of where the Dr. put things, to treating his workers with disrespect, this easily became a toxic environment. I wish the Dr. nothing but the best in his upcoming retirement and believe that years ago the hospital was great before VetCor took over. Read Less

My animals have been under Dr. Wadyal's care for more than 10 years. In the case of my late cat, Dr. Wadyal was able to keep him stable and healthy through his years of feline AIDS.  This week, he saved my standard poodle's life. My dog had been boarding elsewhere (never again!) and was returned to me suffering from acute bloat, a life-threatning condition. Using non-invasive techniques, he was able to relieve the systemic pressure caused by the stomach torsion enough that my dog has been able to recover without the prohibitively expensive stomach surgery ($9K) which I would not have been able to afford.Over the last few days, the doctor has been in daily contact with me. I would also like to commend his staff for their caring and attention. While I can't speak for the person who gave OBAH a single star, I can say that my animals have received expert care; and in this latest incident, he performed  a truly miraculous intervention that only a skilled and competent professional could have achieved. The depth of my gratitude to Dr. Wadyal is boundless. Read Less

We adopted an 8wk old kitten (Zipper) from the TOB Animal Shelter in November of 2012, and were encouraged to bring him to the Oyster Bay Animal Hospital for ongoing checkups and health. The staff has been helpful, friendly and professional from day one. Dr. Gallo is bar-none the kindest and most thorough vet, with the patience and knowlege to guide 'new' pet owners. When dietary issues arose recently, she suggested a few small tests, gave Zipper a complete check and suggested a change in food, which resolved his discomfort. Calls with questions are answered immediately or within a day of leaving the message. Treatment costs are resonable, in my opinion. I highly recommend Dr. Gallo and her staff to anyone looking locally for a new vet. Read Less

"All About Spay Neuter had a necropsy done on this kitten. According to AASN's vet it was not the surgery that killed the kitten, even though it caused her to have adhesions, but our vet feels there might have been an underlying virus and the stress of the spay caused her untimely death. As the contractor trappers for this program, our volunteers do the utmost to keep the feral population under control and a kitten dying is a horrible blow to us. We do this to saves lives !!! This outpouring of support for this poor kitty just goes to show how many animal lovers and passionate people there are in Town Of Oyster Bay and all over. I was contracted by a town official today and I feel now that our communciation with the town will be stronger, they will be more open to suggestions, and the TNR program will grow in the process. Once again, I thank you for your support and concern." - Joanne Carlough MonezRead Less

They have taken excellent care of my pets from birth through death and I can't imagine using any other hospital. The staff is always amazing and my dogs and cats have always loved each and every one of them. Dr. Wadyal and his associate doctors have been professional and caring for the pets as well as me, their mom. I give this hospital 4 stars on knowledge and compassion. Read Less

The doctor here (forgive me, I forget his name, but I think there is just the one) is so kind and a truly competent, skillful doctor. Terrified and unsure of what to do, I brought him a sick five week old kitten who wasn't eating and was constantly crying. He kept my boy for a few days, gently prepared me for the worst, but assured me at the same time that he would do all that he could. He gave me back a healthy, happy kitten, thank goodness, but his patient manner throughout the whole ordeal was wonderful. The techs here are sweet as well, you can really tell that everyone here loves the animals that they care for. If I didn't now live so far away, this would be my primary care veterinarian for all my animals. Thanks, doc. Read Less
