My family has been going to this office ever since the 1970s. Of course the veterinarian has changed but we continued to go because we liked the service. However I will no longer be using this vet. I went to the office today to pick up the second dose of medicine for my dog for which I had already paid in full. Unbeknownst to me I when I was given the first dose I was given both doses (3 pills) and told that the dog should take all three. I found out today that this was incorrect and that the dog still needed a second dose of 1 1/2 pills for which they expected payment despite the fact that I had already paid in full and administered the pills to my dog. The error was made by the office but they still expected me to pay. They've lost my business. Read Less

Took great care of my pug 11 years old who needed dental cleaning & extractions.  Very affordable. Cost of extractions alone was much less than another local animal hospital. i took my cat to them.  He was supposed to get an ultra sound on 8/31 about 2 weeks after his initial exam.  Don't go here -- they are so confused and got his ultra sound date mixed up.   When I called to ask if they had a later appointment in the day for an ultra sound except for 8 a.m. in the morning initially they said "No."  I would have had to bring the cat for an overnite if it was 8 AM in the morning.  They adamantly said there was no other time available.  Then I found out that they had an ultra sound opening on 9/5 at 10:30.  I found another vet option.   At first they could not find a record of my cat being examined by them or that he was scheduled for an ultra sound on 8/31.  Anyhow, regardless they mentioned that there would be no specialist to assess the ultra sound this holiday weekend nor on 9/5 so does this make sense to you?  Also the cat had been crying out at night because I had moved him from NYC to East Patchogue, LI,  So the vet gave him loads of calming medication.  This makes him really out of it, yet I have been told cats don't normally cry when in pain and probably he was crying from the move.  Yet they scared they heck out of me by saying he may be in pain and he was not.  Oh boy an addicted cat, lol, I'm would not take my pet ant to this mess of a place called an animal hospital Read Less

Botched up spaying.  Doctor never spoke to us before or after surgery. Nor came out when requested to assess our dog when she was attacked in waiting room prior to surgery. Nor follow up call post surgery. Poor razor used to shave and poor incision. Pup is in so much pain!  Do not use. Read Less

First time going, I brought my Dane who was sick. They did everything they could for her. But sadly her time was up. They sent a Sympathy card not too long after, signed by all of the staff,which was very nice. Their clear on pricing and will work with you the best they can. I have had my share of vet hunting until now. Dr. Armfield is everything I was looking for in a vet.  I have several rescue dogs who have had a pretty hard life.  I am so happy I have a Dr. I can count on to give my dogs the best care.  I feel so at ease knowing she is caring for my dogs.   She saved one of my dogs who was severely sick, he was in grave danger of not making it. Dr Armfield provided the best possible care. He is here today because of Dr. Armfield.  I am so grateful to her.  Dr. Armfield also has a wonderfully  calm friendly personality which is a pleasure to deal with, which my pets pick up on right away.   She takes the time to make them less nervous, never rushing our visits.  She offers such a wide range of treatment including  acupuncture.  She is very helpful and caring, making suggestions for the benefit of  my pets, giving them a better quality of life.  I take her advise as "gold", everything she has suggested has worked wonderfully for my dogs.  No matter how many questions I have  had she always personally calls me back herself which is awesome. I never had to worry about a call back for a test result as well.     She takes the time to explain things. I never leave the office feeling unsure.   She has a wonderful staff they are  very professional  and very loving to my dogs and other dogs in the waiting room.  Appointments are not a problem and the staff does everything possible to accommodate your schedule.  I am so happy I have finally found a Practice I can truly count on. Dr. Armfield is an outstanding doctor simply put- Let me start with saying, I have 3 chihuahuas and she is wonderful with them. My prior vet never mentioned anything to me (after multiple visits with my dogs) about their noticeable and concerning dental disease. Dr. Armfield thoroughly examined my dogs and noticed right away that a dental cleaning was necessary- I priced around a bit and I was quoted nearly $1000 for ONE dog's dental cleaning, and I spent under a grand getting all 3 of my dogs done at Dr. Armfield's office. Her prices are very reasonable and I was thrilled with the results- all 3 of my dogs ended up needing multiple rotting teeth extracted- but they now have pearly whites and fresh breath   Needless to say I trust Dr. Armfield with my dogs entirely. Any concerns she has had with my dogs she has explained to me the risks and the reasons for her concerns. She is very thorough and gentle when she examines them and her prices are more than reasonable. You can tell she truly loves animals which is very important to me and my pups. We love her! Read Less

I used to feel overwhelmed bringing my 3 dogs into the vet until I was recommended by a friend to visit Dr. Armfield. Dr. Armfield now owns Patchogue Animal Hospital and has for almost a year, I think, perhaps longer. She is an amazing vet, caring, loving, humane, kind and profoundly educated in holistic and integrative modalities. She has a beautiful heart and she loves all animals. We met here in NYC a few years ago and she's been our vet since. We go out to Patchogue to see her from Queens because she's worth it. She really loves our pets and cares for them, we've boarded the dogs there and they love her and can't wait to see her. Dr. Armfield is very cautious about some of the serious things we pet owners should be careful about like too many vaccinations. There are not enough stars here at Google reviews to adequately address what and who this vet is. Astounded! After spending a fortune for my dog to have surgery, brought him home to find his skin had been singed from being left on a heating pad during recovery. Didn't know what it was until I brought to another hospital. Bring your dog at your own risk. Read Less

I loved Dr. Atlasbut after he retired he sold his practice to this young kid. Normally I wouldn't mind, but I have experience with animal science and I knew what was wrong with my dog (ear infection) and just wanted to get the proper anibiotics and continue on my day. 50 minutes later and after ignoring me she finally came to the conclusion it was an ear infection... Didn't listen to a word I said before or after the examination then charged a small fortune for it. Haven't gone back since and don't recommend going to see her. Read Less

I was looking for a non invasive, holistic approach to treating Bullet (my rottweiler of eight and a half years) and I was so pleasantly surprised by Dr. Armfield's hands on and nurturing care of him. Dr. Armfield and her staff are professional and courteous. My nine year old Rottweiler was limping on both her front and rear legs in March 2014. The pain was causing her to whine frequently. I felt so bad and thought it was time to consider sending her over the doggie rainbow. Wow was I mistaken. After having x-rays and blood tests done, my girl was diagnosed with IVDD, a disc degeneration disorder from old age. The doctor immediately created a treatment plan which included weight loss, Adequan injections and pain medication Tramadol. The injections were once a week and my girl's mobility immediately started to improve and most importantly the whining stopped. The next phase of treatment involved acupuncture. I was skeptical in the beginning, but again I was proven wrong. After the initial course of acupuncture treatments, my girl's gait returned almost normal. She's more alert and playful. Because of her age, I've opted to forego surgery, and manage her IVDD by having her lose and monitor her weight. She also receives acupuncture treatments every 4-6 weeks. We are over a year into treatment/maintenance. I am eternally thankful to the Dr. Armfield for restoring my girl's mobility and quality of life. If you want dedication to your pet and pleasant and friendly veterinarian experience, you will be very pleased with the Patchogue Animal Hospital. Read Less

Dr Atlas has been my vet for 25 years.  I could only wish my doctor was as considerate as he is.  He always calls as promised, gets on the phone himself, he has called me at night, at work and when he is out of state on vacation.  The office is spotless, the staff pleasant.  And he will try to keep the costs down whenever possible.
