It's hard to say you love a vet because going to a vet doesn't always mean you will walk out with good news! While our little girl Nova has had a great bill of health since we started going to the Cat Doctors about 2 years ago, our boy Neo does not have the same outcome. He used to love the vet, but unfortunately he had to have some teeth remove and we dealt with urinary blockage that he associates the doctors with only bad things :( Understandably so! The Cat Doctors constantly tries to make him feel at ease as best as they can, but of course our little man is very particular in his feelings. I appreciate all the knowledge they've provided us and how friendly they are each time I call or come in. Neo just doesn't understand they are trying to help him :) Read Less

I have taken all my cats (20+) here since 2005 and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else because they are knowledgeable and compassionate about people’s cats. They have been educated exclusively for the care of cats which I have learned there are so many different illnesses a cat can have. I started with a veterinarian which did all animals but found that they weren’t as knowledgeable on cats. If you want to give your cat or cats the best care then let the Cat Doctors be your choice. All six of my cats are patients at The Cat Doctors, and our experience couldn't be better. They actually care about each pet and thoroughly evaluate even their behavior to make sure all their needs are met. One of our cats, Benny, had his cardiology check-up at Cornell yesterday and the cardiologist (who also spoke very highly of Dr. Adamo) saw virtually no difference between his tests last November and today, meaning his severe hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (which is a progre...ssive disease) is not progressing. When he was first diagnosed in September 2012, we were told that he probably only had about six months left, but thanks to the fabulous care he receives at The Cat Doctors, Benny has remained asymptomatic for almost five years now despite severe cardiomyopathy. They definitely know their stuff!  Probly went to school or something.  Just a guess. WARNING- I'm going to give a lengthy rant about feline urinary tract infection as well as a review for this veterinary practice.  Animal owners need to know wsup since this frequently occurring infection is life threatening & can be avoided when you are armed with the right information. Anways, on to my visit....I was concerned for a while that my black cat Raoul, had polyps in his ears which may or may not be a threat and also with the large amount of brown wax that was producing rapidly in those little ears so....I merged a bday trip to my parents in Fairport with a doctors visit to a local vet which specializes in felines.  Why not go to a species specific doctor when there is one available?!  It's crazy not to since Dr. Adamo is hands down the best veterinarian I've ever been to in Rochester!  She was so wite!  Yup.  Ha no I'm not being a racist asian, Im just saying she was welcoming, informative, thorough and experienced.   Qualifications which are so relevant & important to me in a Doctor.  My mom raved about Dr. Eileen Adamo for years n years & I finally found out what all the fuss was about.  I love her result driven style, knowledge & honest resolutions about issues my baby has experienced in the past like a recurring urinary tract infection which has been a scary & costly affair. It's lunacy how some vets obviously only work for the man & will still recommend whichever repped brand dry food to male pussys, who are more prone to life threatening uti's where as in humans, it's us ladies who oftentimes get this painful, painful, excruciatingly painful infection in the punany where you feel like you must pee ASAP & the frequency of such is upped 80 fold when the usual amount of bathroom trips is around a handful of times a day.  Yet when you pp, only one tiny drop of urine comes out, feeling like hot fire as it burns it's way out even though you've been drinking lots of water.  Wtf?  Yes male cats and female humans definitely get the raw end of the stick with this one!  Not a huge problem for me as I can easily get resolution from a quick gyno visit in an ez breezy insurance paid appointment or walk in.  However, this is way more complicated for animals since they could die within 72 hours if not treated properly.  Im sure this emergency veterinary visit isn't affordable for many people who most likey have to put down their pets as a last resort because of high medical costs and humanity of the situation.....this can easily all be avoided with an all canned, wet food diet for ya kitty bae.  It's really just that simple.  So do it.  (Can-wise I tend to get the pate instead of the shreds.  The pate is made from real meat while the shreds are made of wheat gluten, which isn't nearly as healthy as meat obviously & I'm not even sure why the hell they use that as an ingredient in the first place.  I mean I know why and I suspect it may jeopardize the health of our animals if we continually feed them with a wheat based sustanance.  So not cool.  Canned pate is the way to go along with human grade meat from the supermarket which oftentimes is cheaper or comparable to the cost of manufactured pet food.  You do the math.  Anyway....Rant finished! Fast forward two days later and my kitty is visibly happier & more energetic since our visit.   Dr. Adamo advocated the use of topical flea drops which safeguards against mosquito related infections as well as the usual suspects.  She brought up that it's a good idea even for indoor only pets since mosquitos may make their way inside during summer months & infectious diseases from them cannot be ruled out.  If youve ever gotten a mosquito bite in ya home, you may want the added protection of topical drops which is preferred to oral.  This is just a taste of the wealth of information she gave me during our initial visit.  I like being an informed pet owner and this practice suits me just fine.  I really love Raouls city doc at LES Animal Hospital but now I have another amazing resource for him in my optimal health arsenal. We had been to 5 Vets to try to figure out our cat, Itty Bitty. He had severely bitten his tail and was very sick and strange acting. Dr. Eileen Adamo is the only one to diagnose his illness as Hyper Aesthesia . Rare in Cats, but, happily fixable. That was almost 17 years ago! As our kitty ages, she has helped him with thyroid disease, and kidney issues. She has even found a med he can take so he can be calm enough to be handled by her and her staff. I can't express enough how dedicated and caring she is both to pets and owners. I will remain loyal to this practice for as long as she is there! Read Less

Two of the most caring feline doctors in the Rochester area, both Dr. Adamo and Dr. Sanders have been absolutely wonderful. We've actually known Dr. Adamo since the acquisition of our first kitten 14years ago. We got to know her quite well as our feline frequently ate things he should not have (he even had a small sparkly ball from a craft kit taped in his chart that we still joke about).Dr. Adamo is incredibly brilliant and very generous with taking the time to explain all the details of our kitties situations and our options. We are so grateful to have found her and very pleased that she took on Dr. Sanders. Dr. Sanders is an absolute sweetheart and we appreciate all of her support too. One of the things I like best about the office is that they don't 'push' extra stuff on you. You can't go wrong with either Dr and the rest of the staff is super sweet too. A great big THANK YOU to Dr. Eileen, Dr. Kerrie and staff!!! Our cat has always been afraid of strangers. So, after a couple of trials and errors with other area vets, much research and a few recommendations, we decided it was best to take our cat, Pookey, to The Cat Doctors. The BEST decision we ever made for our cat! Dr. Eileen spent well over an hour discussing the problem, the pain the cat was in and her recommendation... easing our worries and concerns about the surgery. Post op and 19 fewer teeth later, was exactly as the Dr. called it and Pookey, is now, a much happier kitty...not as timid,no longer in any pain and able to eat without struggling. I would highly recommend this team to anyone!!! :D Read Less

When I brought both of my cats in after a very frustrating time with their previous vet, I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Eileen. At our first appointment Dr. Eileen spent about 2 hours with me explaining all the possibilities of my concerns about my oldest cat. I was truly impressed with the caring and passion that she has for kitties. A few months later my youngest kitty had an issue and I then had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Kerrie, and again I was truly impressed. They both researched and came up with a solution and did a biopsy that they have never done before - that is how much I trust these wonderful Doctor's! To this day, Nikka has had no more issues!!! I cannot praise these 2 doctors and their awesome staff enough for the love, caring and passion for kitties!!!! Thank you Dr. Kerrie, Dr. Eileen and the wonderful staff at The Cat Doctors!!Read Less

So, thank you Cat Doctors for making a horrible life event a little better with your love, care and expertise. Read Less

They really have a great team. Read Less
