Yesterday, I took my keeshond for an appointment with Dr. Panich. Not only did my dog not receive the standard of care, but he did not receive any care at all :
1. She did not examine him or take any tests, even though I requested this (and I was charged $240.00);
2. My dog was to be taken off of paxil, although on the phone she said she would check how to do this and know by the date of my appointment on my appointment, she told me this was not her field and to just stop it when I told her this medication could cause bad results to my dogs health to just stop it, she said it is not the same in dogs as in people and if he got sick it would just be very drowsy, queasy, not wanting to eat (Yet she earlier told me she knew nothing about this on the phone she indicated she would consult with another dr which she never did). She also said he could be sick a couple of days I asked if I should bring him in if he gets sick and she said no, why pay $300 to bring him in.
3. She was unprofessional, condescending and abrupt. She would not let me discuss my dogs problems at all;
4. She diagnosed a steroid (which my dog has had bad reactions to in the past and is listed on the web as having possible serious side effects -- I also checked with other vetinerary providers on this) without checking the medical records sent over, without consulting with me, without examining the dog or taking any tests at all.
5. I was given 3 different versions of how the steroid should be administered.
6. When I asked her about my dogs very dry and peeling nose she said it was all right minor (his nose is cracked and has pieces flaking off)
7. I called the office and told them and asked for a refund they said to me why did you pay the bill (someone named Lexi).
In summary, I was charged for a service I never received ($240.00) my dog was prescribed medicine which could have been harmful to his health and well being as well as being advised to just stop the paxil, she was indecisive about how to administer the prescription and she put down a fictious drs name as a referral who I have never heard of (what happened to honesty?)
This does not seem to be consistent with what a vet should be she seemed to have to concern at all about my dogs health, comfort well being and I would like, not only, my money back but to get her educated on how to care for animals well being. She obviously does not care. Read Less
