We were forced due to my health to come down to Florida. All the people I knew recommended a particular vet here. Our dog was climbing the stairs one day and hurt her leg. We took her to the recommended vet and he told us she needed surgery. The Florida vet also claimed to know doctor Monaco. It seems he has a number of family members in New York and they all use him. I let him know I wanted to speak to doctor Monaco before considering something as invasive as surgery. Dr. Monaco spoke to the vet and suggested another course of action and our dog has not had an issue since. It has been four months now and she is still doing fine without the surgery. My English Bulldogs Bruno, Sofia and my Amazon Yellow-Naped Sherilyn love Dr. Monaco. He is the best Vet I have ever known. I travel quite far for my visits and it is so worth it. His knowledge of all different animals will have you NOT worrying because not only is he honest, but take his time to explain any of your questions without rushing you out of the room. I have always lived with dogs or other type of animals and Dr. M have been the very best veterinary doctor we have found. The staff is also excellent in what they do. I had never in the years going to this office have encounter a disappointment. The staff is there to help you and also answer any questions. I have to say that old country animal clinic has been more than amazing since we first brought our rescue chihuahua for his checkup. Dr. Eisbruck took the time to go over our new pup with us in detail and was very gentle. You can tell right off the bat she is very knowledgeable and professional! The dog had some teeth issues that needed straightening out so they quoted us for a cleaning with anesthesia. We felt so comfortable with this vet that we decided almost immediately to bring our dog back for the procedure. Alexis the receptionist did an excellent job helping us set everything up and was very communicative about everything. Took our baby beardie in for his/her first wellness check up. Dr. Monaco and staff are wonderful super informative and very nice. The office is clean and the wait time was very minimal. The front desk really needs to change in how to speak and take care of clients. Also its sad how the doctor has changed don't rember clients who started with him before he got so big. Its sad how its about his staff not the client. Very very sad. Thank God for the vet in Carmen ave. When I tell you very clean. Up to date very brite staff at carmen ave front desk whem I say pleasant I mean it. Warm and welcoming. Not like old country animal clinc they are very cold they need to change attitudes and same with the doctor. He needs to remember how he was befor befor he got so big. Very disappointed in this clinic it was good now know more they got to big for their own good. Don't go if you say or inform the dr. He will side with staff befor anything whem a doctor does that that means staff has control so never know how staff really treats uour anmials if you drop them off Watch befor you do. Dr. Monaco is an amazing veterinarian. He's knowledgeable and patient - and he tolerates my paranoia. I really appreciate that he's one of the few board-certified avian vets out there. Dr. Monaco is very gentle with my birds (ringneck/sun conure/alexandrine), and you can tell he adores animals. Bonus: the office staff are friendly and easy to deal with. Dr. Monaco and his staff are the best. They cared for our ferret, Cassi, for seven years. Dr. Monaco is excellent at giving you all the facts and diagnosing underlying problems. You immediately trust his knowledge and judgement. He is an incredibly skilled surgeon, as Cassi had many surgeries in her life (some with emergency vets) and Dr. Monaco's surgeries left her with little recovery needed and almost no bruising. I brought my turtle to Dr Monaco, a new experience for me as I've always had dogs and cats. Dr. M treated my turtle like an old friend and was very thorough. He found something wrong with him through a stool sample and sent me home with injectable medication so I could treat Big George properly without repeated visits.
