My family has been using this office for maybe 20 years now...or almost that much. The practice has gotten even better since Dr.Kearns took over. He has such a charismatic, humorous and compassionate demeanor. He's so easy going which makes the process much easier for stressed out pet mom's like me.
Dr.Mike is also fantastic. Incredibly nice and knowledgeable doctor.
I was a bit skeptical using this vet because I had been using a cat only office for years. My old office was getting too hard to continue with due to restrictive hours of business. Countryside is so flexible and they haven always squeezed us in for appointments at the last minute. That is honestly such a relief and comfort knowing that I can get quality care when last minute things pop up.
My two cats have been at the vet 4 or 5 times in the last 5 weeks for various issues. I can't tell you how many times I've called the office asking to speak with a tech or a doctor about the healing and recovery process of my cats. They've been patient and kind every time.
All around, this is just a great practice. While they're not feline only, which would be my preference, they make up for it in so many ways. My first visit was met with a discount for me and the person who referred me. Additionally, when I had to take my cat back to the office a few times for a bad cold, I was only charged for the initial visit. The other 2 were complimentary (unless you have a procedure done or have medicine administered). I can't tell you how much I appreciate not being nickel and dimed. Keep up the good work and please don't change!

Talk about caring, loving vet's and staff. I know that when I take my boy to the vets, he is getting the best of care. I am am so trusting in their care and standards, that they are the only place that I board my dog. He comes back happy, healthy and well cared for. I absolutely love it here.

I have been going to Countryside for a few years now and I love them. The doctors and vet techs are all super friendly and helpful. My cats have had issues ranging from kidney disease to stomatitis to a tooth that needed to be pulled. They really care about my pets and go out of their way to try to help me with whatever I need and any questions I have. I always get in right away and never wait more than five minutes to get in a room.

Our Dayzee girl, loves to wrestle with her new found brothers... Unfortunately our 14 week old pomerian injured herself and broke her front leg. This was a devastating blow to us.. Although I feared the financial pain of this injury , her pain was unacceptable and heart wrenching. Dr Mike walked into the room, looked at us with the most amazing understanding, and kissed our screaming puppy on the head.. He made it all better and never stopped loving her and caring for us like we were his own family. Thank you for caring so much , this place made me feel so comfortable and safe. We've been taking our babies here for almost 3 years. Countryside is wonderful! They treat my babies like they're apart of their family too. The staff is wonderful! My oldest Lab was very sick and we had to make the very hard decision of giving her peace. The staff was so good, they gave us a peaceful morning with her before we said goodbye and Now with our newest fur-baby all the staff are so nice to us and Leche! We will continue to recommend them as they are a real family oriented office who will go above and beyond to take very good care of you and your fur babies needs.

I have taken my cats here for years. We recently took in a semi-feral cat, because he was hit by a car and broke his leg. He wore a cast for over a month, and we weren't sure how his leg would heal but it looks pretty straight and he has no problem walking or running around and playing! He has a little limp when he first starts walking but after the first few steps he walks fine! The staff is very nice and helpful and they fixed my cat!

Moved from Wading River and had to find a vet near PJ.
Took dogs to Countryside Animal Hospital once a year for routine work.
First visit was OK, but charged twice as much as expert vet in Wading River.
Prior to second visit, called ahead for price quote. Initially quoted $282.98 for bare minimum services that house dogs require- including heartworm pills. While discussing optional services, price increased to $434.80 (snap tests for heartworm). Appointment was made for following day. Few minutes later, received phone call with new price of $487.88 (forgot to add additional fee for office visit with 2 dogs). Agreed to new price, but next day was charged ~$700 (similar to first visit). Dogs were given everything under the sun- even shots they said were not due when reviewing records over phone day beforehand.
One dog has been sick ever since. Not eating regularly. Not pooping regularly. Throwing up at least once a day for the past two weeks. All these symptoms occurring since the visit to Countryside Animal Hospital.
By far the worst vet on L.I. Will drive to Wading River rather than pay high $$$ for dookie care. Avoid!

We have been taking our dogs to Countryside for about 5 years and Dr. Mike and Dr. Kearns have been incredibly good to our family. Dr. Mike managed my dog's heart failure for over 2 years and Dr. Kearns helped our other dog thru a terrible virus. The vet tech Jay and office manager Genevieve always go out of their way to help in every way possible. I traveled from New Jersey for every appointment because of the level of trust I have for them and because I know how much they genuinely care about the animals. Thank you for everything!! Duncan lived 15 happy years and words can't express our appreciation for all you did!!

Very dissapointed in their deceptive practices. I had used this vet for a few years and really liked them, until this year when my dog went in for a sedated orthapedic exam to evaluate his athritis. He walked in perfectly fine (not limping at all) That afternoon when I picked him up they had done pre surgical blood work and were trying to schedule surgery for torn ligaments I declined and brought him home. I called back a few days later to complain because he couldn't bear weight on that leg for 10 days. This was something that had never happened to him before and was obviously caused by the examination while he was under sedation. Dr. kearns offered to credit me part of the exam fee towards surgery at his facility which upset me even more. Luckily we followed the reccomendations of a holistic vet using supplements and physical therapies he is 100 % fine and regained full use of his leg and substantial relief from the pain and injury caused by the exam. I truly believe that they were deliberately agressive in the exam to try to get me to agree to an unnecessary surgery.

I had an amazing experience here yesterday with my mabel and I would trust any of my pets with u in a second. I will be using you in future for both of my dogs. we've been taking our dogs to country side for as long as I can't remember. everyone there is so kind and goes above and beyond. they've helped us through some really tough times (when two of our dogs passed away) and made it just a little bit easier for us.. dr mike even went out of his way to call us when our Molly passed.. he told us she was his first patient since starting at countryside and that he would miss her too. I highly recommend countryside!

I have worked here for over 6 years. We genuinely care for animals and their necessary care, from preventative medicine (vaccines) to treatment (antibiotics) to emergency care (car impact) just as a few examples. I have given rest to two of my "brothers from other mothers" here and know that I made the right choices for them from life until passing. I am very grateful for every shot, X-ray, and surgery that are performed with care and compassion. I am grateful for the comaradery and teamwork of the staff I am a part of. I am grateful, grateful to work here and show my own devotion to all patients, no matter what. That is worth far more than any paycheck anyone can receive. When I am there, all animals under my care are treated as I would my own, and as far as I know, my cairn terrier Shadow is pretty happy with me

I am EXTREMELY impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the "new" (it's been several years now) staff here. They explain everything to me so I become a better 'watchdog' myself and together we can catch any issues. The doctors AND the techs are knowledgeable, courteous and explain everything to me. 1. One of my dogs is getting elderly and special care is taken for her needs. They installed an elevator like table in the examination room so that dogs unable or unwilling to be put on a higher table are elevated up to the doctor's level. 2. One dog has a fatty cyst, which is tiny and not growing. They didn't press me to get a biopsy - there is no hard sale here. Of course they offered it as an option and explained how I should watch for any signs of growth or change. 3. The receptionist/secretary is always on the ball. For instance, I was getting my shots updated for a stay in the kennel for both my dogs. They made sure everything was up to date, didn't "push" for odd tests, etc., and - I forgot the paperwork and left it on their desk. When I got home there was a polite message about it, and they offered to fax it over to the kennel, etc. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr Kearns and his staff nursed our dog back to health for four months. From an emergency surgery (after a horrific dog fight), to daily bandage changes, more surgeries and wound care, he and his staff were supportive, sensitive and helpful. There were days when we doubted if our dog would be able to keep her leg, but Dr Kearn kept the faith and with his expertise and committment to her and us, she is now walking on all fours and back to her spirited self. I truly don't know if we could have made it without countryside animal hospital and the loving care they provided.

My family has been using this office for maybe 20 years now...or almost that much. The practice has gotten even better since Dr.Kearns took over. He has such a charismatic, humorous and compassionate demeanor. He's so easy going which makes the process much easier for stressed out pet mom's like me.

First visit was OK, but charged twice as much as expert vet in Wading River.

One dog has been sick ever since. Not eating regularly. Not pooping regularly. Throwing up at least once a day for the past two weeks. All these symptoms occurring since the visit to Countryside Animal Hospital.
By far the worst vet on L.I. Will drive to Wading River rather than pay high $$$ for dookie care. Avoid!

We have been taking our dogs to Countryside for about 5 years and Dr. Mike and Dr. Kearns have been incredibly good to our family. Dr. Mike managed my dog's heart failure for over 2 years and Dr. Kearns helped our other dog thru a terrible virus. The vet tech Jay and office manager Genevieve always go out of their way to help in every way possible. I traveled from New Jersey for every appointment because of the level of trust I have for them and because I know how much they genuinely care about the animals. Thank you for everything!! Duncan lived 15 happy years and words can't express our appreciation for all you did!!

Very dissapointed in their deceptive practices. I had used this vet for a few years and really liked them, until this year when my dog went in for a sedated orthapedic exam to evaluate his athritis. He walked in perfectly fine (not limping at all) That afternoon when I picked him up they had done pre surgical blood work and were trying to schedule surgery for torn ligaments I declined and brought him home. I called back a few days later to complain because he couldn't bear weight on that leg for 10 days. This was something that had never happened to him before and was obviously caused by the examination while he was under sedation. Dr. kearns offered to credit me part of the exam fee towards surgery at his facility which upset me even more. Luckily we followed the reccomendations of a holistic vet using supplements and physical therapies he is 100 % fine and regained full use of his leg and substantial relief from the pain and injury caused by the exam. I truly believe that they were deliberately agressive in the exam to try to get me to agree to an unnecessary surgery.

I had an amazing experience here yesterday with my mabel and I would trust any of my pets with u in a second. I will be using you in future for both of my dogs. I was lucky enough to spend some time at a charity event with the entire staff and was blown away by their empathy towards pets and dedications towards their health and wellbeing. It's a shame that these hurtful remarks are being made towards these caring and wonderful people. They've always been nothing short of excellent. we've been taking our dogs to country side for as long as I can't remember. everyone there is so kind and goes above and beyond. they've helped us through some really tough times (when two of our dogs passed away) and made it just a little bit easier for us.. dr mike even went out of his way to call us when our Molly passed.. he told us she was his first patient since starting at countryside and that he would miss her too. I highly recommend countryside!

I have worked here for over 6 years. We genuinely care for animals and their necessary care, from preventative medicine (vaccines) to treatment (antibiotics) to emergency care (car impact) just as a few examples. I have given rest to two of my "brothers from other mothers" here and know that I made the right choices for them from life until passing. I am very grateful for every shot, X-ray, and surgery that are performed with care and compassion. I am grateful for the comaradery and teamwork of the staff I am a part of. I am grateful, grateful to work here and show my own devotion to all patients, no matter what. That is worth far more than any paycheck anyone can receive. When I am there, all animals under my care are treated as I would my own, and as far as I know, my cairn terrier Shadow is pretty happy with me

I am EXTREMELY impressed by the professionalism and warmth of the "new" (it's been several years now) staff here. They explain everything to me so I become a better 'watchdog' myself and together we can catch any issues. The doctors AND the techs are knowledgeable, courteous and explain everything to me. 1. One of my dogs is getting elderly and special care is taken for her needs. They installed an elevator like table in the examination room so that dogs unable or unwilling to be put on a higher table are elevated up to the doctor's level. 2. One dog has a fatty cyst, which is tiny and not growing. They didn't press me to get a biopsy - there is no hard sale here. Of course they offered it as an option and explained how I should watch for any signs of growth or change. 3. The receptionist/secretary is always on the ball. For instance, I was getting my shots updated for a stay in the kennel for both my dogs. They made sure everything was up to date, didn't "push" for odd tests, etc., and - I forgot the paperwork and left it on their desk. When I got home there was a polite message about it, and they offered to fax it over to the kennel, etc. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr Kearns and his staff nursed our dog back to health for four months. From an emergency surgery (after a horrific dog fight), to daily bandage changes, more surgeries and wound care, he and his staff were supportive, sensitive and helpful. There were days when we doubted if our dog would be able to keep her leg, but Dr Kearn kept the faith and with his expertise and committment to her and us, she is now walking on all fours and back to her spirited self. I truly don't know if we could have made it without countryside animal hospital and the loving care they provided.
