They definitely know their stuff! Probly went to school or something. Just a guess. WARNING- I'm going to give a lengthy rant about feline urinary tract infection as well as a review for this veterinary practice. Animal owners need to know wsup since this frequently occurring infection is life threatening & can be avoided when you are armed with the right information. Anways, on to my visit....I was concerned for a while that my black cat Raoul, had polyps in his ears which may or may not be a threat and also with the large amount of brown wax that was producing rapidly in those little ears so....I merged a bday trip to my parents in Fairport with a doctors visit to a local vet which specializes in felines. Why not go to a species specific doctor when there is one available?! It's crazy not to since Dr. Adamo is hands down the best veterinarian I've ever been to in Rochester! She was so wite! Yup. Ha no I'm not being a racist asian, Im just saying she was welcoming, informative, thorough and experienced. Qualifications which are so relevant & important to me in a Doctor. My mom raved about Dr. Eileen Adamo for years n years & I finally found out what all the fuss was about. I love her result driven style, knowledge & honest resolutions about issues my baby has experienced in the past like a recurring urinary tract infection which has been a scary & costly affair. It's lunacy how some vets obviously only work for the man & will still recommend whichever repped brand dry food to male pussys, who are more prone to life threatening uti's where as in humans, it's us ladies who oftentimes get this painful, painful, excruciatingly painful infection in the punany where you feel like you must pee ASAP & the frequency of such is upped 80 fold when the usual amount of bathroom trips is around a handful of times a day. Yet when you pp, only one tiny drop of urine comes out, feeling like hot fire as it burns it's way out even though you've been drinking lots of water. Wtf? Yes male cats and female humans definitely get the raw end of the stick with this one! Not a huge problem for me as I can easily get resolution from a quick gyno visit in an ez breezy insurance paid appointment or walk in. However, this is way more complicated for animals since they could die within 72 hours if not treated properly. Im sure this emergency veterinary visit isn't affordable for many people who most likey have to put down their pets as a last resort because of high medical costs and humanity of the situation.....this can easily all be avoided with an all canned, wet food diet for ya kitty bae. It's really just that simple. So do it. (Can-wise I tend to get the pate instead of the shreds. The pate is made from real meat while the shreds are made of wheat gluten, which isn't nearly as healthy as meat obviously & I'm not even sure why the hell they use that as an ingredient in the first place. I mean I know why and I suspect it may jeopardize the health of our animals if we continually feed them with a wheat based sustanance. So not cool. Canned pate is the way to go along with human grade meat from the supermarket which oftentimes is cheaper or comparable to the cost of manufactured pet food. You do the math. Anyway....Rant finished! Fast forward two days later and my kitty is visibly happier & more energetic since our visit. Dr. Adamo advocated the use of topical flea drops which safeguards against mosquito related infections as well as the usual suspects. She brought up that it's a good idea even for indoor only pets since mosquitos may make their way inside during summer months & infectious diseases from them cannot be ruled out. If youve ever gotten a mosquito bite in ya home, you may want the added protection of topical drops which is preferred to oral. This is just a taste of the wealth of information she gave me during our initial visit. I like being an informed pet owner and this practice suits me just fine. I really love Raouls city doc at LES Animal Hospital but now I have another amazing resource for him in my optimal health arsenal. Read Less
