I have been bringing my dog here for a few years. I absolutely love how they treated her and answered my questions. I actually worked there "helping out" for about a month until my personal schedule would not allow and I found the front desk staff VERY knowledgeable on all things animals. They really care about animals here, it was quite obvious to me. I will continue to bring my dog and any other dogs that RESCUE ME (sorry to my hubby I got my eye on one)to this animal hospital. Been taking my cats here for many years, no matter where I happen to live around town. Friendly staff and vets, very comfortable feel to the rooms, clean, but welcoming. Competitive, even significantly lower pricing on many services, when compared with other vets and clinics I've visited on occasion. Lower prices on prescription food orders than at other vets, stores, and always ready for pickup in a week. They also never made me feel judged or pressured about the handling of my recently deceased, 20 year old cat's life care/end of life care. They were very supportive, gave invaluable advice on many occasions, and answered my many questions about every option for him. I recently moved to Gates and was hoping to bring my sick cat in, but they said they wouldn't even see him if there was something wrong with him and he had been seeing someone else previously. Is there some rule that you're not allowed to switch vets when you move? I'm really disappointed - I have a perfectly healthy cat that I was thinking of bringing there too. Read Less

I brought my 18 year old beloved cat Mia in yesterday. She was very old and very ill. Dr. Golebi treated her with care and kindness and helped me face and make a tough decision. She made sure my Mia was sedated and relaxed and no longer in distress before she passed. She hugged me before I left and that meant the world to me. I will see her at the Rainbow Bridge! Been going here with my pets for about 10 years and never had a problem until now. The ladies at the counter just talk to each other and do not acknowledge the costumers (this has always happened). Yesterday we brought my two dogs in and they said my one dog looked uneasy and they were gonna mussel her, my dog has NEVER been musseled and she has NEVER bit anyone. The doctor then began to explain to us about another patients dog that bit either him or someone in the office and it was a very expensive law suit, along with that he kept nagging about how all of these places would get involved if my dog bit him it was almost like he wanted her to bit him so he could retire! which to me is very unprofessional. Do not take your animals here! They were cruel to my dog when he hurt his foot. They used non-dissolving stitches on my other dog and his discharge paperwork said they were dissolving stitches. Only after me insisting they we the wrong type (AN ENTIRE MONTH OF ARGUING LATER) they cut my dogs leg open which had healed over and removed the stitches. Then charged us again. Another time, I watched a tech get aggressive with my rescue when we brought him in hurt. They should be shut down. So glad we have better options. They are a disgrace. Read Less

I was the third generation in my family to bring my pets to Chili Animal Care. Years ago it was a great office, other than the older woman at the front desk who should really think about a new career that is not in customer service. They provided great care to our animals and were very affordable. However, in the past few years it has become an untrustworthy office. My cat was having accidents quite frequently, and I brought her into the office. They said it was behavioral and to lock her in a small room to break the behavior. They did not run any tests. Her accidents continued, and I decided to take her to another vet. The new vet immediately did a urine analysis and discovered she had a very bad urinary tract infection. It was so bad from not being treated that she required two rounds of antibiotics. A year later, my sister's cat started having accidents. She took her cat in and they said the same thing. They also did not perform any test. I encouraged her to see another vet after his accidents continued. She took him to a different vet and after a urine analysis, they determined he had a very bad urinary tract infection. Because his was also not treated properly he also required two rounds of antibiotic treatments. Furthermore, my grandmother's cat became very sick this week, and she took her to this vet. They gave her cat some fluids and pain medicine, and then sent her home. The next day her cat was shaking and gagging. When my sister called to tell them the cat was in horrible shape, they informed her that in a day or two they could put her to sleep. My sister had to convince them to agree to see her that day. I highly recommend Stoney Pointe Pet Hospital. Please, if you care about your pets do not take them to this office. After these incidences, my whole family has changed offices. Read Less

We took our cat here for 12 years and now Mattie has been a patient for the last 8. Aside from getting fixed, she has (unfortunately) had one surgery and one 5 day stay. We cannot rave enough about the entire staff and prices. We are so lucky to have them here in Chili. Thank you! Read Less

If I could rate them a negative star I would. First, after moving from Brockport to Chili, and purchasing a pup I contacted Chili Animal care for an appointment. I was told I had an out standing bill from the 1970s or early 80s?? It wasn't mine but a relatives. But I had to fight to clear it up. Once done I had no problems until my German Shepherd became I'll. Dr. Schroeder examined her and prescribed medication and sent her home. That night after one dose she had explosive hemorrhagic diarrhea. I took her back in the AM and he prescribed yet another med. That night she was extremely restless, kept going in and out her door, hiding behind the chair etc. I called Dr. Schroeder.. His comment... "oh it just sounds like she has a pill caught in her throat". So I started sweeping her mouth and throat with my finger, trying to get her to drink water and she only got worse. I called again... To which I got "well if she isn't better bring her in in the morning"..... That night my daughter and I slept downstairs with her, I only dozed off for a little bit and when I woke up my girl was gone. She died laying right beside me. I contacted Chili Animal Care and asked them if I could return the meds I paid for that I felt they killed my dog. I was told no.... I also felt Dr. Schroeder was negligent. And I was NOT paying him. We have been taking our pets here for more than 20 years. The customer service every single time is so poor. The women at the front desk are so rude and snippy. If you hate your job that much, quit. Pet owners beware. I visited this vet clinic before work to ascertain what may be wrong with my puppy or what is totally normal at her age. I was told legally they couldn't help me with any advise or service and they were accepting no new animals. Something was fishy because right after that statement "I could switch from my vet to them" after I have her examined and pay for a new round of vaccines etc.. Funny thing how their business works. What happened to helping people? Are they too worried about lawsuits / malpractice suits with animals..? Or could it be interest only in the hard earned money of pet owners who would do anything for their animals. I would think twice if you were considering this place for any of their services.Read Less

We have been going to this vets office for over 14 years. I called last week after getting the yearly postcard reminder for both the cat and the dog to come in for their wellness visit. I asked to make an appointment for both animals on any upcoming Saturday. The young girl said "OK is here anything wrong with them or is it just the wellness visit?" I said "no there is nothing wrong with them but I'd like the doctor to check out the cats joints and bones (he is 13 yrs old) and see I we should be doing anything for them. And the dog has a mole I'd like him to see if it's OK or needs to be removed. " she tells me to call the day we want to bring them I'm. I replied with no I'd like to make an appointment as per the card you guys sent. She process to tell me that because I want the doctor to look at something that means there is something wrong with them and it's not a wellness visit. That they only take appointments for wellness when there is nothing wrong. All other appointments are considered emergency and they do not take appointments for them, you just call the day your coming in. Oh and they cost more money too. I think the requests i had for the doctor to look at constitute wellness checkups and do not fall into the "something wrong" category. I said "fine then I won't ask the doctor, I'll let them tell me if there is something wrong with the animals, so just book me a wellness visit" she refused. This is horrible treatment of a Longtime customer by a young woman who was clearly just trying to get a few more bucks out of our visit. I have never been asked these questions by the older women who have worked there for years, nor have I ever been refused an appointment. I asked several times "are you sure this is the policy?" and "you really will not book me an appointment? " when she still refused. I told her my next call would be to transfer my records and I wouldn't be coming there with my animals as they do not care about them, only money apparently. They have someone terrible representing this office on the phone, while the doctors and other vet techs have been nice and accommodating over the years. This incident has lost them several patients as both my parents and sister were also going there and will no longer be.Read Less

Chili Animal Care is a great medical office to take your animals to. The Vets check my little dog carefully and are very gentle. In Dec 2010, my little dog was having trouble with his hip (he's only a few months old at that time) and I rushed him to the vet. The Vet examined him and told me that this was a common problem with small dogs and recommended exercising and prescribed medication for the pain. This was much better than going through surgery as one other vet office recommended. Within, 2 weeks my little guy was up and running & being his old playful self. My little guy loves going to the vet, he likes playing with all the staff, techs and the vet. They are great people and very much love all animals. I highly recommend them and they're rates are much more reasonable then other vets around the Rochester area. Read Less
