Saved my kittens leg and saved me $8,000 in the process. I have used JVH for years but have really only needed them for standard pet care, at which they have always been wonderful for me. Days before Christmas this year we rescued a stray kitten with a badly injured leg; because of the timing with the holiday she spent 3 days at the emergency vet and racked up a decent bill. They recommended a skin graft as the laceration was almost the entire perimeter of her leg, large and exposed her tendons. The skin graft cost was estimated to be in the range of $8,000 in addition to the costs we had already incurred. They said we could try to treat it as an open wound if we could find a vet willing to take on her case, but they weren't optimistic that this would be a great route for her injury. The day JVH opened (day after xmas) we sent pictures of the wound to Dr. Bryce and he told us to go get her and bring her to his place. We were able to treat her as outpatient and just drop her off 2-3 mornings a week and pick her up at the end of the day (her dressing changes required sedation). On a few occasions we swung her in with questions, and they would take a look at her, address my concerns and not charge us for that time they spent with us. Today, after a month of dressing changes, we went in a removed the wrap for good (assuming we don't run into any setbacks) and I could not believe my eyes, her leg looks incredible, she has healthy tissue growth, even has hair growing back! My younger sister recommended this place for my fur baby. The vet I saw for my cat's check up was funny, professional, and there were no gimmicks. He provided information and vaccines that were required/needed, and didn't try to do uneccessary tests. I will definitely be going back again for as long as I live in this area. Yayy! Read Less

Would have to say that when calling in with questions the answers I've received from the techs have been contradictory between techs and to information I googled. I like Bryce and suggest that if you need professional information you ask Bryce to call you back to answer your questions. Do not rely on the information given by the techs. I have been very happy with this office until recently and am considering looking for another vet. Read Less

We have been taking our dogs here for several years and have been very pleased.   Dr. Bryce is awesome! All of the office staff is very friendly and I never felt that I was being over charged like I was at the last vet in Henrietta I use to go to.  All of the fee's are very reasonable and they never make you pay for tests that you don't need for your dogs. I can't explain how great JVH is.  We started going here after we got our first puppy 2 years ago.  He was killed suddenly by a car this past winter, and once the emergency vet faxed over his paper work to Dr. Scota, she said a handwritten card to us.  That meant a lot.  Our dog was not the greatest patient and everyone there still loved him.  We got a new puppy last month and she's receiving the same treatment!  She loves all the staff at the vet (especially because they give her the "good treats). Well once again Dr.Bryce saved the day I have a German Shepard puppy who is a cryptorchid. Which means one of his testicles failed to descend. Nutering becomes difficult with this condition, because the surgeon has to pretty much go fishing in the dogs abdomen for the testicle. He needed a large incision, one that required his abdomin to be almost completely opened up. Of course Dr.Bryce found the descended testicle, in the worst farthest place deep in abdomen. The stitches, staples and incision were done with such precision, you can see it and tell. Dr. Bryce did this HUGE procedure for such a REASOANBLE price I almost felt as if he didn't even add the PROPER amount. A huge surgery like that should have been much, much more. Of course I am not complaining The vet tech , John was overly helpful with explaining what exactly was done, after care and so on. My puppy, is big and a little aggressive, the puppy even nipped John, the tech and he could not have been more kind, understanding and careful to approach my dog, so that my puppy and I both felt comfortable. I honestly cannot say enough to express how wonderful the Jefferson Vetrinary hospital really is. They treat you and your pet like family. Such reasonable prices you almost feel like you're cheating them when you leave. I am so GRATEFUL TO Dr. Bryce and his staff. The Vet tech even took extra time and discussed with me different leashes as well as colllars that would allow me to walk, control, handle my dog better. My puppy is doing wonderful, his incision looks great , the medications Dr. Bryce prescribed helped my dog to be so comfortable this week. This is my absolute favorite vet of all time.. I have moved state to state with my pup, and this vet far exceeds any other I have been to. Dr. Scoda is wonderful and treats our cats and dog like her own - we are well taken care of at all times. Apts are easy to get and they have very flexible scheduling. The entire staff at Jefferson is wonderful.  I have been bringing my dog there ever since I got him.  We are regulars due to his many health issues, but I never feel like it is a burden bringing him in; the quality of care is fantastic, and all of the staff are friendly and truly care - my dog has never been anxious or scared of walking in the door, in fact, he seems happy to see his pals whenever we visit.  Dr. Scoda is amazing, kind, patient, supportive, (and KNOWLEDGEABLE) and as other reviews have said they are not out there to simply make money off you. We have been going to JVH for 5 years. Dr. Bryce is the best in the business - bar none. We have two dogs and we have worked through health issues with both. They are very patient-oriented, and do not nickel and dime for everything. The Vet-tech and front-office staff are also very knowledgeable and especially friendly.
