On Feb 12, 2017 I had an emergency with my 3 legged maine coon named Stinky, where his health was failing fast and he was in a great deal of pain. I didn't want him to suffer, his kidneys were failing and overall he was declining fast. He was at a point where he had put up his best fight, but his life was coming to an end, I loved this little furball and didn't want him to suffer. Our usual vet wasn't available (they called out sick) and these kind people at Sunrise Animal Hospital managed (in the midst of a very full schedule) to fit me in before closing and were as kind and sensitive as anyone could ask for. I've never had to hold something I cared so much for as they passed in my arms, but I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be there with me. Thank you. Read Less

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I went to drop off my dog yesterday because she needed her teeth cleaned and growths removed (possibly cancerous). I dropped her off at 8 AM. When I called at 1:30, I was told she was just getting operated on and they waited so long because they needed to get the results of her blood work. I reminded them to look in her chart because she had an autoimmune disease in the past. They called me back 10 minutes later, stating they couldn't operate because something looked wrong with her blood and that they were now sending her blood work out. They kept my dog 5 1/2 hours for blood work. I went to pick her up and she couldn't walk straight and was bumping into walls. I went to pick up her medical history today because my dog will never be going back to this place. Oh and they will overcharge you too! When I went to pick up her records, I was now told I paid $125.00 extra yesterday and they would reimburse me. They don't care about your animals here, if you do go somewhere else, I am!!Read Less

I have only good things to say about Sunrise Animal Hospital. My family has been taking our beagles there for over 6 years. Dr. Andy is so sweet to them. He genuinely cares for the animals. They did a great job on my Biscuit's teeth. My Winter has such a personality and the staff tells us how funny she is and they truly seem to enjoy her. We boarded both of them there for 2 weeks. The staff had no problems taking our phone calls and telling us how they were doing. When we got the horrible news that Biscuit was really sick, they helped us make the hardest decision ever- to put him down. They showed us so much compassion. Shortly afterward, we received a card from the staff with beautiful messages. It was so heartwarming. We brought Winter in to the office in the fall after she had a seizure. My very difficult dog was completely taken care of by the wonderful doctors and caregivers at Sunrise Animal Hospital for almost 12 years. From the time he was born my sweet puppy had physical and social issues. The staff at Sunrise was always there to answer any questions and provide excellent care. They always answered questions on the phone and I never felt that they performed any unnecessary procedures. As doctors and health care professionals should be, their main purpose was to care for my pet when we needed help with his care. My dog had regular yearly checkups and 3 necessary surgeries. He boarded at Sunrise about once a year and was groomed there regularly too. My dog was not easy. As a matter of fact he was extremely difficult to care for but I and my family loved him as part of our family and the staff respected that and cared properly and safely for him. I had the same contact person, Melanie - an intelligent angel, and the same doctors, Dr Alex And Dr. Bill for all these years. They are amazing in their intelligence and compassion. The staff is consistently wonderful too. From your first point of contact with the women at the desk, Mindy and Jamie to the doctor's assistants Ribiana, Michelle and the amazing Melanie, to the daily staff, I was always treated with patience, kindness and intelligence. My dog was my one and only pet and as I have mentioned he was riddled with issues. When my beloved baby passed this past month, they couldn't have helped anymore than they did. They explained everything that would happen so I could understand and try to deal with it as best as I could. They completely explained how I would get my pet's remains and at this very difficult time, everything went as they said it would. They even sent a condolence card that was individually signed by the staff. This meant so much to me. From the beginning of his turbulent life until the end, Sunrise Animal Hospital was professional, compassionate and just plain helpful and nice to my dog and to me. Sunrise is the best vetinary Hospital I have been to. We have been bringing our boys Rex and Caesar there for over 5 years. We are routinely met in the waiting room by the staff just to say hello to us. Doctor Rose and Doctor Alex are fantastic. Very knowledgeable and gentle with our boys. I have been a customer of Sunrise Animal Hospital for the past 8+ years. After another local vet told me my cat had a urinary tract infection and she wasn't getting better, I contacted Sunrise. It turns out she had bladder stones and eventually needed surgery. Dr. Rose and Dr. Alex saved her life. The staff at Sunrise are just great, knowledgeable, and very concerned and caring with my cat. Throughout this stressful and trying time, they were always very attentive with her medical needs. I will always be so grateful for their kindness to us at our great time of need. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SUNRISE ANIMAL HOSPITAL I just had the most upsetting experience that a first time pet owner could have. I started bringing my pet to Sunrise Animal Hospital when my pet became ill and was diagnosed with cancer. They were caring until the time came we had to put him down. That is when they cease to care, (I believe because they wouldnt be getting any more money from us). We brought him in and told them that we wanted to have his remains picked up so we could bury him. Went over instructions again with the doctor and the 2 assistant that were in the room... They told us that they would call us when he was ready to be picked up. I couldnt remain to see him put down because I was to upset, so we left him in his carrier and left. Three days later they called to ask me if my pet was going to be cremated; again I told them we would be picking him up for burial. The answer I got was I will let them know, (which means they didnt do anything), that is when they should have told me to come in to pick up his remains. But NO they did not... Two weeks past and I didnt hear from them, so I called and ask what is going on and why we never received a called from them, and was told (with an attitude why didnt we come in to pick him up. I told her that no one called). Then she asks when we would pick him up. I told her we would be there today and I asked her if his carrier was also there and was told yes. My son went to pick him up right away and found him in a cardboard box wrapped in plastic. His carrier was nowhere to be found; my son told them that we were going to bury him wrapped in his blankets that were in his carrier. Thankfully I didnt go with my son because I was so upset that I would have let every person in that office know how uncaring they become when you are no longer be doing business with them. My son also said that he was slowly losing his temper when he got there; they show no respect for the grieving pet owner. You would think that they would call to find out when you be picking up your pet remain, But NO, its like you dont exist anymore, to me that is so disrespectful when a pet dies, how could they just leave his remains there and ignore the situation and not call. This is my experience and I am not happy with this hospital at all!I just had the worst Experience with this place. I have a dog that developed Cherry eye. I took my puppy in to this hospital and they saw him once and was like" just put ointment on it". So I did and it started to get worst. So I ask for a quote and they gave me the price. I said ok, but I had to reschedule the surgery due to a car accident on the way to the puppy hospital. So I make the reservation and I wanted to double check if its the price they quoted me last time. It was doubled because he gain 6lbs. I do have a big dog but 6lbs more shouldn't be double the price! So I take my dog back to this location and I get a few procedures done. He gets Fixed, and he has to have surgery for his eye. So I agree to the terms we worked out. I pick him up and the eye doesn't look any better. So I asked about it. They said it should go down over time. So I go back two weeks after the surgery happened and they wanted to charge me again because they needed to redo the surgery. Now, I am calm and PISSED! Why should I have an out of pocket cost, $570+ when I asked about his eye before I left, and its been two weeks and the eye still looks the same. NOT COOL! That is not how you run a service. The doctor didn't do what needed to be done the first time and now I have to pay for them to do it again! I do not suggest you use this hospital. If they can't correct a mistake after you keep going to them for the up keep of your pets health. They don't value repeat business or customer service. They don't answer the phone all the time, then when they do answer, they keep you on hold to the point they hang up and say, "you hung up". I really don't like this place. And now that they are messing with my dog's health, makes me not like them even more! Read Less

My only problem with the hospital is they do not have call waiting, half the time when I call I have to call 4-5 times to get through cause you were that old fashioned busy signal. My service dog, Mr Wrinkles, adores the staff there. Dr Rose and Dr Popa are always on top of whatever needs doing. Mr Wrinkles enjoys his visits there and is always greeted with smiles and happy people. The full staff is helpful, knowledgable and caring. Mr Wrinkles has been a patient there since we adopted him at 3 months old. He is now a little over 4 years old. I needed a veterinarian close to my home, so after asking friends, I called Sunrise Animal Hospital. From the beginning, the staff and veterinarians were wonderful! My service dog, McGrew, always had a fear of veterinarians until he met Dr. Rose and vet tech Melanie. Now he's in love with the whole staff! They took the time to calm down a nervous dog. By the time our appointment was over, McGrew was enjoying his belly rubs so much he didn't want to leave. The one time McGrew was ill, they took him right in and solved his problem without delay! His annual checkups are always a pleasant experience (and he always gets a belly rub). He never flinches when he gets a vaccine or blood test, as it seems the Doctors "hit the spot" right away without having to poke and prod to find a vein for blood work, and lift the skin for sub-cutaneous injections. I am the assistant manager of this facility as well as a family member/ owner. I want you to know that I have a 10 year old pomeranian JJ that is treated better than most people. Pomeranians are my favorite breed and I can assure you that samantha is fairly new to our facility and I am disgusted at any negative feedback towards pomeranians. I have actually seen the post where one of your employees named Samantha said ugly horrible things about the Pomeranian breed. She said they shouldn't be allowed in public, that they were a disgusting breed, along with other things like you muzzle them. If you have people like her working for you then I highly recommend people take their loving pets somewhere else. She doesn't know this dog & she is saying such nasty things about it.
