This is the worst animal hospital!! I have been going here for years until today. My cat has been off and on sick for the past 4 months I brought her in on an emergency visit. Perrier (will not use Dr. because I don't think he should be given that title) looked at my cat. Said she has a blocked bladder and it could either be a tumor or a kidney stone. He said there is nothing I can do you need to go to a specialist which will cost 5k. He said to me call your family and then walked out of the exam room. Leaving me in there alone for a half hour with unanswered questions. My mom came to help me and he said to my mom. This cat feels like sh!t and I can't do anything for her. We left and I called Crawford animal hospital right away for a second opinion. I took her there and she is recovering from surgery now and is hopeful for a recovery.Terry animal hospital has no idea what they are doing. She had a mass on her bladder which they never checked for in the 4 months I was battling this illness with her. They just kept medicating her and never helped her. Dr. Foye has no idea what he is doing as well as Perrier for being extremely mean to his customers. Please save your pets and take them elsewhere. You are better off going to Petco and getting your pet examined by an employee there then those so called vets!Money hungry mean vets who know nothing!!!! Read Less

My 2 star rating has ZERO percent to do with almost all of the staff. THEY ARE AMAZING AND WORKING HARD every time we go in there- The problem with this place is the owner! At first i ignored how rude the main doctor was and chalked it up to a bad day..... Until my most recent visit. I was there a few times with my cousin recently and watched him berate multiple staff members in front of us!! What?!?! Im not even sure he was yelling about work related things bcuz im pretty sure he demanded one of them leave early to go run an errand for him....so confusing. What goes on there? One time the other room had clothing all over it and the last time i was there he was in his pajama pants!! What doctor does that?? So unprofessional!! Are my animals safe in this chaos?? The rest of the staff are excellent so this is actully a sad thing that i had to write this review. Somebody needs to talk to this guy, i dont know how long my cousin is going to put up with it. I am saddened to write this, as my family has been taking our pets to Terry Animal Hospital for more than 30 years. Until recently, I thought Dr. Perrier was the best. But last month, I took my cat to an emergency visit with him after she suddenly stopped eating and became very lethargic. Immediately after lifting her out of her crate he said, "Oh, this is grave..." he weighed her and starting talking about that she had reached "the end of her life." She is 10. He hadn't even examined her so I asked him how he could just conclude that she was "at the end of her life" after having merely picked her up out of her box and weighed her. He said to me: "Look at me. I have been doing this for 30 years. I can feel their chi with my hands. She has no chi. She is dying." I was stunned. He was clearly and admittedly in a hurry because, he said, he had to get to an outside appointment. He took her temperature at my request (and replied that it was normal), appeared extremely impatient, and said irritably to me: "I don't know people always think their cats are going to live to be 20. She is ten years old and that's like 70 human years. She's old. She's dying." Again, I was so stunned and surprised and seeing this, he said condescendingly: "Come on, you knew it when you walked in here: she's dying." Then he told me he would give me a glass of water so I could take some time to come to terms with it, and that he would be leaving, but that I should motion to the front desk and someone would be in "when I was ready" to put her to sleep. I have never been so appalled in my life. After he left me alone in the exam room with my very sick cat I took a few minutes to try to process what had just happened and I gathered my cat and my things and walked out. Important to note that my cat was treated at another animal hospital the next day and is fine. But Dr. Perrier would have put her down without so much as an exam because "she had no chi." I love this place ! The staff is so friendly, and Dr. Foy is absolutely amazing with my puppy. If you're in the area, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to go. I called Dr. Foy religiously, since I'm a new dog mom, and always takes the time out to answer each of my questions without a rush or hassle. He even cuddles with my puppy when we bring him in. I adopted my dog from Town Of Hempstead Animal Shelter. Along with all the paperwork they provide a list of veterinarians that give free wellness exams! I chose Terry Animal Hospital because of all the great reviews on Google & Yelp, and they did not dissapoint. Because I had just gotten Max from the shelter the staff was totally understanding when he started barking. I really appreciated that since I was a little overwhelmed being a first time pet owner. My vet was Dr. John Foy! He was so friendly and loving with Max. Since I'm a first time pet owner I had TONS of questions! I actually had a list of questions on my phone. He answered all of them thoroughly and relieved all my worries. Please don't hesitate to bring your dog to Dr. John Foy!  He is awesome! TIPS:*If you adopted from Town of Hempstead Shelter in Wantagh, make sure you bring all vet medical records. That way they're able to determine if your pet is up to date with shots.*You must pay full balance at the end of your visit. They take cash, and credit cards. A pet is like a family member, and Dr. Foy and Terry Animal Hospital treat their animals with the genuine care of family members, working with pet owners in a personal caring manner with sensitivity.My kitty became ill and Dr Foy was able to immediately assess the problem, and he and Dr Ng with help from technician Lyndsey Immediately performed a necessary procedure which saved kitty a night he would have passed otherwise.Unfortunately, kitty has a bigger issue, and Dr Foy was able to diagnose and sensitively share his predisposition and propose all options.  What to do, how long to try, whether to perform serious surgeries, chances of recurring are personal decisions.  Dr Foy was able to very quickly present a diagnosis and options professionally and expertly but also took into account decisions I needed to make which are personal - he respected  my needs, thoughts and sensitivities as he presented options. Dr Foy extended care based on my preferences to try more natural less intrusive and serious measures which did not have guarantees, and did so expertly, patiently and attentively.  Follow ups and updates regularly helped tremendously during the stressful time, and I knew my kitty was in the best hands under the care of Dr Foy and his staff. Kitty is now happy at home, on a modified diet.  It has been an emotional and difficult week.  Dr Foy and his staff could not have been better at keeping kitty comfortable, persistently doing all they could to improve his condition in the most natural manner, and keeping me informed under their care.  I very highly recommend Dr Foy and Terry Animal Hospital for their sensitivity toward animals and owners, outstanding professional care and attentiveness, and for their top expertise in animal care. I recently brought my cat Whirley here because he had a cold and vomiting and he wasn't eating (normally his favorite activity!). I had recently gotten a new kitten and I think the stress brought on the cold but I was very worried about the not eating. I brought him to Dr. Perrier who was wonderful with Whirley, who seemed to be immediately at ease with him. He really understood Whirley's "essence" and was not alarmist at all about his illness. He said that he  was a strong and healthy boy and was just experiencing some gastritis and it would pass. When he still didn't eat normally after a few days I was worried that there was something seriously wrong with him that the doctor missed:( Well,  it did pass and Whirley is eating normally again and his cold cleared up. I am so grateful to have found a doctor who Whirley seems to be comfortable with and who I am very confident in. Read Less

Terry Animal Hospital has been my family's choice of vet for over 20 years.  Most recently, they have treated my toy poodle and yellow lab for the last 15 and 13 years respectively.  I cannot say enough nice things about their office support and about Dr. Kim Ng.  While all of the doctors are wonderful, in my opinion Dr. Ng is simply the best.  Her countless efforts and phone calls to me after hours have helped me through difficult health issues with my precious pups.  My toy poodle became diabetic in March 2014, and passed October 29 of this year.  Dr. Ng was there guiding me every step of the way, and truly exhibited endless compassion no matter what time of day it was.  My lab is 13 and has health issues as well.  In the last couple of years, I have spent countless times at the vet, and countless dollars.  However, when you have senior dogs that are members of your family, it's the quality of the care, not the cost.  People don't realize. Let me start off by saying we have used Terry Animal Hospital for years. They are always professional and competent. They were wonderful when they put our 16 year old dog to sleep and even more important, helped us to know when it was time to do so. All that said, my wife recently brought in a urine sample for our 3 year old dog as she had done over the years. My wife figured it would not cost that much as she recalled it was quite reasonable in the past. This time, however, the bill was for $187.00!!!!!  That was without the vet ever seeing the dog. At this point I feel we were totally ripped off. When I called to complain, I was told "well that is what the lab charges us/". Sorry to say I'm afraid it is time to go elsewhere. Read Less

My fairly old dog became suddenly ill this week. They were able to fit us in ASAP. Of course, I was terrified but they were so good to my mom and my dog. Thankfully, the things that were wrong with my dog were fixable but I will never forget how kind everyone was, from the woman who answered the phone to the vet who took care of Maude.I was a little terrified of how much it would cost but was pleasantly surprised. They had to give her an injection, do some wound care and 2 prescriptions and it all came to under $300. I wouldn't hesitate recommend Terry Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a great vet. All of the doctors at Terry are exceptionally nice and knowledgeable.  I have been bringing my cats here for about 3 years now and have been pleased.  We love Dr. Foy. He is compassionate and caring and is willing to listen and spend the time trying to figure out solutions to my cats problems.  They have great hours and are open late.  They might not be the cheapest vet around but they are definitely worth the $$. My family has been going to Terry Animal Hospital since 1992 when we moved into town.  Overall they have seen eight of our cats in the past 18 years, as well as a couple of hamsters.  I would not consider taking my beloved pets anywhere else.The quality of care my furry friends have received here is exceptional.  The facility is clean, the vets are knowledgeable and expert at what they do, and I have never had anything "upsold" to me or aggressively pushed when its necessity was dubious.  I take my own cat to Dr. Foy and he has always been completely up-front and honest with me, allowing me to make the best decisions for Lovey's care without added pressure.Dr. Perrier (sp?) provided tender and compassionate care to my sickly cat Weezie many years ago.  It was a very difficult time for all of us due to the frequency with which she was ill, but he was able to perform an extremely difficult procedure on her to remove a metastasizing cancer in her eye that bought her many more months of life, a gift for which I am grateful to this day, even though she passed away ten years ago.Dr. Ng, one of the newest vets there, was my best friend in high school and I can personally attest to her upstanding character, amazing talents, and genuine, deep-rooted love and compassion for animals.  She is a fine addition to the team and is already caring for the other cats in my household.These are the only three vets with which I have firsthand experience but you cannot go wrong with anyone at this special place.  I may leave Long Island someday, but I doubt I will ever find another vet hospital that will be able to match the care and quality I have received at Terry.  I recommend them without hesitation or exception. This was my dogs vet for many years until they referred her to a specialist. I called to ask a question about an over the counter medication. They would not answer because she hadn't been in for an exam in a few years. They treat you like a customer who switched brand loyalty. No concern for an animal who had been under their care for years. There was not even an effort to suggest a check up. All that was given was a snide not our patient not our problem attitude. I would not reccomend this animal hospital. I loved the original vet who took care of her but unfortunately the front desk decides the status of the patients. Read Less

Every Veterinarian in this practice is compassionate and knowledgeable and openly shares that information with their 4-legged patients and their owners. I've been with the practice for many years and wouldn't trust my pets to anyone else. My siblings all bring their pets here too. Drs. We brought our sick 4 years old dog into Dr Terry's Animal Hospital on a Friday morning and dealt with a friendly female doctor. Our Dog was very sick she had us know and was being treated for what she thought was lestospirorsis . At around 2 pm she let me know that things were getting worse for our dog and that she would be going off shift and our dogs case would be handed over to Dr Perrier. I let her know my husband and I would b coming in to see our dog at 5pm to asses the situation and comfort the dog. Upon arrival we sat anxiously in the waiting room until we could see our Animal. When Dr Perrier came over to us, he did not greet us, he simply asked what we wanted. On the verge of tears I asked if we could see Cletus and he replied sarcasticly ""NOT UNLESS YOU WANT HIM TO KIL YOU"". MY husband and I were shocked. I broke down in tears and told the doctor that was not necessary. The rest of the appt was a horror and we wound up having to put down our beloved. The owner of this Hospital made our experience 10X worse and should not be in this profession. Read Less
