Rocky Point Animal Hospital

I had the opportunity to have gone to Rocky Point Animal Hospital for the past 10 years. They have the most caring doctors and staff. My favorite doctor was Dr. Karen Kahn. I had to put down my Lily on 12/22/17 and recently my Harry on 4/28/18. The most difficult days of my life and we were treated like family. There's no place like home! So caring and friendly! Fabulous follow up. Our dog loves coming here and even take shots without a wimper because he detects the total love for animals upon entry. Absolutely hack of a place. Went there and they told me my dog had mites. Charged me $154 did nothing to make my dog better. Went to coram animal hospital and they said it was a yeast infection gave me medicine for his ear and gave me a huge discount from $121 to $64 bucks. Never going back to these snake oil salesmen. And don't argue with them because they get all scared and nervous and won't take you as a client. Bunch of clowns. Still waiting on my refund from those con artists. Now because of this review i have been told they changed there mind no more refund. I would steer clear of this place and find one that actually cares about the animals. Read Less

I take care of 5 male stray cats in my backyard. All are neutered. The oldest, "Big Boy", has gotten to the end of life's journey. He stopped eating over a week ago and it was obvious something had to be done. I called Rocky Point Animal Hospital and told them I needed to have a cat euthanized and asked how much to do it. They told me it would be over $200. I explained that Big Boy was a feral cat and that i was trying to do the right thing by him. The girl told me she would explain to the doctor and call me back. After 15 minutes she called me back and said they would do it for free. I was very impressed by their dedication and the way they handled the procedure. Very professional. I told them I would pay something for their time and told me it wasn't necessary. I asked if they take donations and said they would be happy to as it would offset times just like this. Absolute best doctors and staff!!! They are the most compassionate and understanding group of people my husband and I have ever met. They are very gentle with my furbabies. I would NEVER take my furbabies to anyone else!! My husband and I are so very grateful for ALL they have done for our furbabies So with that being said, if you are looking for a vet to care for your pets, my husband and I would highly recommended them without a second guess. Just brought my puppy son Rory in a few days ago for his tummy ache. Everyone at RP Animal hospital are sooooo nice. The girls at reception are the sweetest. Dr. Caputo is the best. You can tell he takes the time and really cares about the animals. Shout out to the vet tech Seth!!! He's the best and treats my puppy like his own. Yesterday I brought my ferret Trixi to dr Chris Cangeleri she had a really nasty growth on her foot. Dr Chris and his assistant were so kind and gentle handling her during the procedure which I was most grateful. Trixi is doing great today happy to have that bubble off her foot and ready to run again! I will definitely recommend everyone I know to rocky point animal hospital! The vets at Rocky Point are the best! I bring my three pups and the kitten that we have to them whenever they need a check up or if something (god forbid) goes wrong. They are so attentive to each out my pups/cats needs. Recently my pup was diagnosed with a neurological disorder. Instead of being told the bad news and shoved out the front door the vet spend over an hour with me discussing my options and giving me all the possible outcomes. I had to share my experiences taking my "daughter-dog" Emma to Rocky Point Animal Hospital. Dr Caputo is her Vet and he is AMAZING. He is a fabulous VET as well as kind and caring. Emma needed surgery and he and his staff were so caring and attentive to her needs. My calls are answered immediately and they always make time if I am concerned about Emma. They treat your animals like who they are--part of your family. They are kind, compassionate and attentive. I actually travel 35 minutes to their office (and I pass at least 8 other Vets on my way to them) It doesn't matter how far I have to travel, I do it because they are the best.l I would not hesitate to recommend them to all my friends and family. Dr Rich Caputo is wonderful. He has helped my daughter dog Emma for the past 9 months or so. She needed an operation and he performed surgery to remove a growth. He and his staff were always available, always helpful and responded quickly to all my questions. If you are looking fro a vet that you can trust, extremely wonderful with your animal and communicative and responsive Rocky Point Animal Hospital is the vet you should use. Read Less

I trusted the vets expertise and are completly disatisfied with the attention that was for my dog. I was at this vet 2xs and they acted poorly towards my dog. the first time i was there i was rushed out of there they didnt fully examine my dog but at that time i didnt no any better. i trusted them. the second time i was there 3 days later because my dog was worse then before, my dog was very letargic and not doing well i told the staff numeros time that i no that my dog ate something . they said they were going to give her xrays bloodwork , and give her fluids, and told me that she would have to stay there for 2 days at that time i felt comfortable with them, i called them two hrs later for an update they never did xrays and told me my dog had parvo. at 3;30 i recieved a phone call from the vet to tell to pickup my dog and bring her to another emergency vet at 5pm still no xrays!!!! picked her up and was charged and outrageous price for care!!! when i was told that her 2 day stay would be 1200$ i was charged 608 $ for a 4 hr stay . Brought her to second vet with in 15min of being there they did xrays and found out that she had a foreign body in her abdomen (stomach) if my dog was had proper treatment and xrays the first time i was at the vet she wouldnt have experinced this horrific trauma not only for her but for my children and our family. i would never refer anyone to this vet they might be good for checkups and shots but for emergency care i would defeniatly NEVER GO THERE!!! at this time ny dog is doing much better and recieving EXCELLENT CARE!!! and are very happy with all the vets that are treating her !! oh and my dog didn't have Parvo like they said i feel like they guessed a diagnose and belive its very sad especially when animals me so much to people that someone you think you can trust your animal with dosent properly listen to the animals owner after i repeatly requested Xrays and was re-ussared 2xs that it would be done and wasn't!
