Owners Drs. Gary Yarnell and John Pisciotta, along with their professional and support staff, offer expert veterinary services for companion and exotic animals in Westchester County (New York), Fairfield County (Connecticut) and surrounding communities. Our patients include dogs, cats, rabbits, "pocket pets", reptiles and birds.
The hospital is equipped to do laser surgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, (including echocardiograms), and digital radiography. We offer full dental services (including dental radiographs), orthopedic and general surgery, as well as advanced soft tissue surgery when needed. Our experienced doctors and staff provide the diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical services your pets require in a clean, newly renovated and expanded state-of-the-art facility. For your convenience, we offer "drop-off" appointments, evening appointments and full day Saturday appointments.

The vet seemed polite and professional. However, there's an emphasis on testing, some of which are not necessary. An explanation should be given about each test they propose along with the cost. I was presented with a bill for $700 after my card was inserted for processing and I questioned what I was being charged for. One test for feline leukemia on both cats was not explained by use of an acronym so that I had no idea what the test involved but agreed on faith. But, the cats are 9 years old, stay indoors and the need for this was not explained as necessary but as a good idea in case they developed symptoms. That's flawed in that the risk is zero and if they were infected, it's generally too late. I was also told on the day that I called in for the results that one cat had a creatinine level of 2.0 and should perhaps consider further kidney tests. That's nonsense since the normal range for cats is .6 to 2.4. But in this particular vet's defense, she did hedge by saying it's not all that high in case I had access to a computer.Although they agreed to credit the $200 for those tests, that was 4 days ago. Originally, the front desk employee who processed the transaction lied about the procedure's necessity, lied about why should couldn't reprocess the credit, and on this call 4 days later, insisted I had to bring my credit card down to the clinic to process the credit which is absurd and should have been done at the time of service. Also, the in-house testing had been done the same day of service and I had to call this clinic to get the results that by way of professional courtesy someone should have notified me about when they were available. For the amount paid, I view the focus of this clinic on making money instead of honestly evaluating what should be done and following through promptly. Unfortunately, as in the case of personal healthcare, at this clinic it appears it's in your best interest to research things and be your pet's healthcare advocate to avoid stressing your pets with all types of tests and repeat visits.

I wish I could give negative stars but unfortunately this review allows one. I scheduled an appointment for 9:15am for my two dogs for a Saturday. Three week wait to get appointment, when I arrive no record of 9:15 but stated I made appointment for 10:30am. I showed them confirmation for 9:15am and they had no answer but to blame it on website. I told them I could not wait an additional 1 1/2 for there mistake and had my Father in Hospice and was pressed for time. They then stated, they would squeeze me in, so I waited . 09:55AM comes and now they state they have an emergency with no one in waiting room? This was place is all about money! No organization, no compassion, just excused. Sayonara Rye Harrison vet!

I only give 2 stars because they took me right away in an emergency situation...but I will never return. I took my 11 month old puppy there after he cut his paw stepping on some glass outside and was bleeding. This was my first time taking him there and as soon as I walked in, they told me they were gonna take him to the back to get weight on him and check him out and then come talk to me but I couldn't go with him. Sketchy right off the bat. You want me to hand you people that I don't know my dog so you can take him in" the back" and do God knows what? After telling them that wasn't gonna work for me they put me in a room and let me talk to an actual vet.... barely looked at him but told me he could only check it out again "in the back" and I couldn't be there. I allowed it after a while only because he was bleeding profusely and I saw it as my only option, but nothing about any of it made me comfortable at all. Then they come back and tell me they would like to sedate him. Are you out of your mind? I'm not sure what kind of people visit this animal hospital and are ok with these kinds of suggestions but I know I'm not and no one else I know would be ok with this either. For most people I know their pets are their whole lives. Would you hand a stranger your kid and say "yea sure take her to the back for 45 minutes"? No. I don't think so.

There is not enough space for me to praise this practice. From the moment you call, the front office staff is immediately willing to help you whether it is making an appointment or reordering food or medicine. Doctor Fabiano is the most empathetic vet that I have met in years. He truly knows my pets and more importantly knows me. He had taken such special care of my dogs individually and it is truly amazing how he knows each one's personality. The most important aspect of a vet for me is that I can get in for an appointment when something is wrong with one of my pets and Rye Harrison always accommodates me when I need them most. For that I will be eternally grateful and loyal to the practice.

I took my Daughter and our Hamster "JOY" to RHVH twice. Both times we were treated very well by the staff and Doctors. They made us feel like we were part of their family immediately from day one. The small/exotic practicing Doctor (Blair Green) was phenomenal, She not only treated JOY, she relieved my daughter's anxiety as well by her table side manner.I would Highly recommend this establishment to any owner of a pet/family member.

I am a senior citizen and have had pets since I was a young girl. We moved to Rye over 30 years ago and was going to anther vet who retired. We decided to use Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital several years ago for our two cats and have been very pleased. The doctors and staff are the best we have ever used. The doctors are knowledgeable as well as friendly. The staff are always courteous as well. Best of all, my new cat is not afraidtogo there for his checkup and nail clipping.

Wish I could give zero stars but one is as low as I can give. We own a rabbit and she wouldn't eat or go to the bathroom. Which if you know about rabbits can be life threatening. Our regular vet was unable to see our bunny So we brought her to RYE HARRISON VETERINARY. They examined her and X-rayed her. They then proceeded to tell us she had a tumor and needed surgery at a cost of 900 dollars. We went home and the next day we followed up with our primary vet. We showed our vet the same X-rays and he didn't find any tumors. We went to rye Harrison vet with a critical situation which they then tried to make it even more dire by preforming a unnecessary and complete RIPOFF procedure which probably would have killed our pet at that point. our primary vet explained that female rabbits have a high risk of devolving tumors in the uterus and suggested her to be spayed when she stabilized from the "critical care" (meds) she was given at a cost of less then 300 dollars. I wouldn't recommend this place to a family who actually loves there pet like family. HECK I wouldn't bring a stray dog or cat here either. They deserve better.

Had our first visit here today for a vaccine and "getting to know you" exam with Dr. Fabiano. We couldn't be happier. The facility is clean & updated. The front desk staff were efficient, friendly and engaging. Dr. Fabiano was knowledgeable, personable and didn't rush through the exam. The tech (Greg I think, forgive my bad memory) was comfortable and gentle while restraining our scairdy-dog pitbull. We didn't feel like there was a sales-pitch and most of all, our dog's stress level was at a minimum throughout the event. Having just moved to the area, I'm grateful to scratch "Find a good local vet" off our to-do list and feel so confident about it!

We have found that the veterinary doctors at Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital are very kind, caring and exceptionally knowledgeable. We travel over an hour to have our furr babies taken care of and we appreciate all that they have done to keep them in optimal health. We highly recommend them for any pet owner.
BTW, our cats Willow, Max, Coco, Jax, Buddy and Booboo all love the special care that they receive whether it's dental care, grooming or even clipping their nails, they love Rye Veterinary Hospital.

Entrusting your animals vet is like taking your children to a pediatrician.
I always feel that after diagnosis I am always given options & a plan of treatment, always erring on the conservative side that will keep your animal healthy & as they age , comfortable.
I have always received follow up calls After a surgery or during a challenging illness
They welcome clients calling to check on their animals if a stay is involved.
I think caring for your pet is a team effort between owner ,the Dr & supporting staff.
I trust my animals health & well being to the Doctors & staff of Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital.

Quite simply: My parrot died here. He was singing and kissing me on the car ride over and I left with him in a box. I was given no explanation of what happened and ushered out a back door so none of the waiting patients could see me. A week and half later, I received a letter of condolence for someone else's rabbit. I would never recommend this place or bring another animal I cared about to be seen here.

I have to say they that everyone at this office has been wonderful. Both times we went to the Vet office for our animals they were very helpful and synthetic. The first time was an emergency for our hamster and they had just closed up. Even though they were closed for the day they helped us. They explained everything in detail and helped to sooth my sons fears for his pet. The next was for our cat. The Dr. was wonderful and took his time. And let us have our time with our pet so that we could have our final moments with him. When ever we have come in for a routine vet visit they were great. They don't try to make you pay for more then what needs to be done. I would have to say they really do care about you and your pets.

We are customers with our two dogs since more than 15 years, with one exception many years ago regarding our female dog we never needed special care for either dog, however had the feeling, that even regular procedures like vaccinations and check up's were always on the expensive side. There were always attempts to sell procedures that we did not want. Last Friday our 14 year old male dog needed veterinary care and because he refused to eat we decided to leave him in the hospital from Friday afternoon 4pm until Monday morning 10.30 am. We asked for an estimate, the doctor couldn't give us any specific information. During the stay of our dog they administered fluids and injected antibiotics and made an x-ray for $350.00. They charged me for the initial visit on Friday morning $209.80 and for the hospital stay from Friday afternoon until Monday morning an additional $ 1,966.29 !!!!! $2,176.09 from Friday until Monday morning???? Be aware before you choose Rye Veterinary Hospital, for sure my last visit.

One rude one at front desk. The tall one with long light hair obviously knows her job, but her customer service personality is absent. The Doctors and Technicians were extremely friendly, but you have to encounter the front desk first which gives off a very bad impression. The two short girls are nice, but it is obvious they cower away from the rude one - she must be the manager.

I took my Daughter and our Hamster "JOY" to RHVH twice. Both times we were treated very well by the staff and Doctors. They made us feel like we were part of their family immediately from day one. The small/exotic practicing Doctor (Blair Green) was phenomenal, She not only treated JOY, she relieved my daughter's anxiety as well by her table side manner.I would Highly recommend this establishment to any owner of a pet/family member.

I am a senior citizen and have had pets since I was a young girl. We moved to Rye over 30 years ago and was going to anther vet who retired. We decided to use Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital several years ago for our two cats and have been very pleased. The doctors and staff are the best we have ever used. The doctors are knowledgeable as well as friendly. The staff are always courteous as well. Best of all, my new cat is not afraidtogo there for his checkup and nail clipping.

Wish I could give zero stars but one is as low as I can give. We own a rabbit and she wouldn't eat or go to the bathroom. Which if you know about rabbits can be life threatening. Our regular vet was unable to see our bunny So we brought her to RYE HARRISON VETERINARY. They examined her and X-rayed her. They then proceeded to tell us she had a tumor and needed surgery at a cost of 900 dollars. We went home and the next day we followed up with our primary vet. We showed our vet the same X-rays and he didn't find any tumors. We went to rye Harrison vet with a critical situation which they then tried to make it even more dire by preforming a unnecessary and complete RIPOFF procedure which probably would have killed our pet at that point. our primary vet explained that female rabbits have a high risk of devolving tumors in the uterus and suggested her to be spayed when she stabilized from the "critical care" (meds) she was given at a cost of less then 300 dollars. I wouldn't recommend this place to a family who actually loves there pet like family. HECK I wouldn't bring a stray dog or cat here either. They deserve better.

Had our first visit here today for a vaccine and "getting to know you" exam with Dr. Fabiano. We couldn't be happier. The facility is clean & updated. The front desk staff were efficient, friendly and engaging. Dr. Fabiano was knowledgeable, personable and didn't rush through the exam. The tech (Greg I think, forgive my bad memory) was comfortable and gentle while restraining our scairdy-dog pitbull. We didn't feel like there was a sales-pitch and most of all, our dog's stress level was at a minimum throughout the event. Having just moved to the area, I'm grateful to scratch "Find a good local vet" off our to-do list and feel so confident about it!

I have a chocolate lab that is almost 13... he is diabetic, blind and suffers from chronic ear infections... I have seen every vet in the practice at least once and I LOVE them all! My dog gets the best care here... I trust them implicitly and won't ever go any place else... They will be my vets of choice for life! I highly recommend them to anyone who needs the BEST care for their pets!

We have found that the veterinary doctors at Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital are very kind, caring and exceptionally knowledgeable. We travel over an hour to have our furr babies taken care of and we appreciate all that they have done to keep them in optimal health. We highly recommend them for any pet owner.
BTW, our cats Willow, Max, Coco, Jax, Buddy and Booboo all love the special care that they receive whether it's dental care, grooming or even clipping their nails, they love Rye Veterinary Hospital.

I cannot say enough about the caring sensitive treatment my animals & I receive.
Entrusting your animals vet is like taking your children to a pediatrician.
I always feel that after diagnosis I am always given options & a plan of treatment, always erring on the conservative side that will keep your animal healthy & as they age , comfortable.
I have always received follow up calls After a surgery or during a challenging illness
They welcome clients calling to check on their animals if a stay is involved.
I think caring for your pet is a team effort between owner ,the Dr & supporting staff.
I trust my animals health & well being to the Doctors & staff of Rye Harrison Veterinary Hospital.

Quite simply: My parrot died here. He was singing and kissing me on the car ride over and I left with him in a box. I was given no explanation of what happened and ushered out a back door so none of the waiting patients could see me. A week and half later, I received a letter of condolence for someone else's rabbit. I would never recommend this place or bring another animal I cared about to be seen here.

I have to say they that everyone at this office has been wonderful. Both times we went to the Vet office for our animals they were very helpful and synthetic. The first time was an emergency for our hamster and they had just closed up. Even though they were closed for the day they helped us. They explained everything in detail and helped to sooth my sons fears for his pet. The next was for our cat. The Dr. was wonderful and took his time. And let us have our time with our pet so that we could have our final moments with him. When ever we have come in for a routine vet visit they were great. They don't try to make you pay for more then what needs to be done. I would have to say they really do care about you and your pets.

We are customers with our two dogs since more than 15 years, with one exception many years ago regarding our female dog we never needed special care for either dog, however had the feeling, that even regular procedures like vaccinations and check up's were always on the expensive side. There were always attempts to sell procedures that we did not want. Last Friday our 14 year old male dog needed veterinary care and because he refused to eat we decided to leave him in the hospital from Friday afternoon 4pm until Monday morning 10.30 am. We asked for an estimate, the doctor couldn't give us any specific information. During the stay of our dog they administered fluids and injected antibiotics and made an x-ray for $350.00. They charged me for the initial visit on Friday morning $209.80 and for the hospital stay from Friday afternoon until Monday morning an additional $ 1,966.29 !!!!! $2,176.09 from Friday until Monday morning???? Be aware before you choose Rye Veterinary Hospital, for sure my last visit.

One rude one at front desk. The tall one with long light hair obviously knows her job, but her customer service personality is absent. The Doctors and Technicians were extremely friendly, but you have to encounter the front desk first which gives off a very bad impression. The two short girls are nice, but it is obvious they cower away from the rude one - she must be the manager.
