Banfield Pet Hospital

Saratoga Springs, New York
General Info
Banfield Pet Hospital in Saratoga Springs provides compassionate and knowledgeable care for pets throughout the region. The services offered by the hospital include Dental Care, Microchipping and Vaccinations. The practice emphasizes pet wellness, chronic illness management, and urgent medical care. The Banfield Pet Hospital team in Saratoga Springs approaches veterinary care like the tuning of instruments, building rhythms and behavioral cues to support New York households. There is an initial phase when the toy is not being touched, but rather observed. Staff members watch the pets as they navigate corners and react to the soft sounds while orienting themselves on movement. The diagnostic flow automatically adapts during operation to fit specific conditions. Pets holding their breath or reacting to neck contact during eye exams causes the staff to adjust the visits accordingly. Owner input enhances every medical decision regarding whether the pet chooses to sleep and how often it seeks out contact in naturally calm home environments. Banfield Pet Hospital offers a variety of services, including diagnostic testing and pain modeling techniques, mobility assessments, environmental allergy evaluations, preventive care plans, and long-term stabilization approaches for chronic conditions. Services for deeply traumatized or overstimulated animals can also be split into several time slots or combined with decompression in-between. Daily temporal patterning impacts both the speed and manner in which results are communicated within domestic social settings. The subsequent visits are determined by the pet’s recovery patterns, not specific dates. Pet owners are also advised to observe any unusual behavior after the animal returns home from the veterinary clinic, such as avoiding certain rooms, stretching slowly, or taking longer to vocalize. The communication channels remain open to adjustments as routines change or symptoms begin to creep in. Banfield Pet Hospital conducts veterinary practices across Saratoga Springs and other adjacent New York areas by identifying the subtle signals pets exhibit during every pause, step, or heartbeat owners notice.

Dr Ryan is wonderful. I saw a new dr yesterday with my dog Riley and felt uneasy about the visit. When they called with the results they asked me about my visit and I told them how the new vet made me uneasy and how when she examined my dogs stomach she said “hmmm” a lot and I had to ask multiple times if he was ok before I got a “yeah he’s fine”. I had a dog who had stomach cancer years ago and the whole thing just made me uneasy. The nurse I spoke with asked if it would be ok if dr Ryan called me back and I said yes please. Dr Ryan called back and apologized for the fact that I felt uneasy and offered to examine Riley herself later that day free of charge. Of course I said yes. She did and explained that he just had a low stomach like some dogs do and it is nothing to be concerned about. I appreciated the extra care she took to recheck my dog and to make me feel better. I felt like Riley was her favorite patient. It’s a very nice feeling to have a vet care about your dog the way you do. Thank you Dr Ryan! Read Less

My dog came into Banfield Pet Hospital located in Pet Smart with an emergency. She was not a patient there, but it was the closest veterinary clinic to my home. I was treated with disrespect. My dog was not seen immediately nor did the woman that worked at the front desk, Stephanie, help me in any way. There were two assistants in the back sitting down doing nothing; so I advised her of that and asked if they could help me. Stephanie could not even simply get up to ask them if they could help in order to expedite the process. She told me I needed an appointment and did not help me set up an appointment! After I left, I called the practice immediately and asked to speak with the practice manager of the Pet Hospital...once I heard back from her, I told her everything that happened and she told me that is not how my employees work and that no one sits around there. Ultimately, she told me everything I experienced was inaccurate...however, she was not there. In addition, she did care that my dog had an emergency and was not seen. There was no sense of urgency at this veterinary hospital. I would never recommend anyone here and would advise if your pet is currently a patient there to leave the practice. Also, Don, the practice manager, would not get me in contact with her manager. She advised that I would be bounced back to her...the entire corporation is now defined by this terrible experience I had with Wilton Banfield Pet Hospital! Read Less

Set an appointment the other week to have a microchip implanted in our dog. Woman on the phone easily set up the appointment and told us there would be no issues with them implanting the chip. Fast forward to our appointment yesterday and we show up, only to find out that now Banfield will ONLY install the microchips that they sell. There was some excuse about how a microchip installation went awry at some point between when we made our appointment and a week later. The woman said they had particular difficulty with implanting the particular brand of chip we have, even though she had not seen the chip and had no idea what brand it was. This was AFTER filling out all the paperwork and after waiting to be seen by the staff. Not only were we lied to, but we had our time wasted. If there truly was an issue with implants provided by customers, they should have called to inform us. Instead, they were negligent, had us come in and tried to up-sell us on their own product. We will not be bringing any animal to Banfield again as I do not enjoy being lied to or having my time wasted. Side note - the PetsMart itself is a great place. Read Less

I made an appointment for my cat to get her rabies booster and as this was her first time with Bantfield Pet Hospital in Saratoga Springs, I brought her complete vaccination record. I was told that all of her vaccines were on track, and that she did not need any vaccines. This seemed very strange and I insisted that her record be double-checked. I was told , again, that my cat needed no vaccines, so I returned home. On a second trip to Bantfield, I requested a vaccination certificate to confirm that especially her rabies vaccines were on track, since we are travelling internationally and this is one of the Canadian border requirements. I was told that only Bantfield Latham issues such certificates and that I would need to travel with my cat to Latham. As I reviewed her vaccination record myself, again, I confirmed that my cat indeed needs a rabies booster... I am now making an appointment elsewhere, where the same office applies vaccinations AND issues vaccination certificates. I do not recommend Bantfield Hospital, Saratoga Springs, for the deficiency of their services and the confusion between two basic and routinely vaccines: my cat's 3-year FVRCP (no need of a booster) and the yearly rabies vaccine!! I just wanted to share this experience because I believe customer service to be a very important part of any good veterinary clinic. I just moved to Saratoga Springs and had my dog's prescription faxed over to Banfield. My previous VET (not a staff member) called and told me that she had just faxed it and had a confirmation fax. So I stood in line at Banfield while the receptionist, an older woman with dark hair in a ponytail and thick rimmed glasses, talked on and on with an attractive male client picking up a kitten - all about Obama and what the government is doing in restrictions of bandwidth of the internet etc. etc. etc. for oh, about 10 minutes, maybe more. A lovely conversation. So finally they are done and I step up to the desk. The woman glances at me and proceeds to answer the phones she's been ignoring during her previous conversation. So I stand another 3-4 minutes. When she is done on the phone, I ask if she can find his script so I can buy his dog food. She goes in the back and comes right back out saying my vet didn't fax it, and she doesn't have it. Then goes right back to talking on the phone. So I wait. Another 5 min. or so. Until she sets the phone down again... and I start to ask if she can double check because I know my vet faxed it...but before I can finish she interrupts me to say "I'm making an appointment right now" in an extremely rude tone. And so I walk away. That was approximately 20 minutes of my time wasted standing in line to buy an $80 bag of dog food. Well, I will get it somewhere else. I just wanted to say that a smile and a polite request to wait one more minute with an apology might have saved you one customer. Imagine how many more you've lost because of behavior like this. No thanks, I'll find a small town vet that might cost more but actually cares about their customers.Read Less

This is my first experience with a vet as I just got my first puppy, so I'm sorry I don't have much to compare to. The staff and veterinarian we're very friendly and affectionate toward my puppy. I had lots of questions and they answered all of them and never made me feel rushed.
