ZERO STARS!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! -- I've never been treated worse by a vet. I needed to get an ultrasound for my cat quickly. I called Upstate Medical Center on Maple Ave in Saratoga Springs, and they said they could get me in that Thursday morning. I had called everywhere, but everyone was booked out by weeks, so I accepted. I was of course nervous bringing my cat to a new place I was unfamiliar with but I had no other option. I was told to bring my cat ready to go, fasted and medicated, ready for the ultrasound. I had a consult with Dr. Tamas at 9 am, who actually put me a little more at ease. He took his time and asked all the right questions to really learn about what was going on and my cats history. I was feeling better about everything up until the last few minutes when he said, I hope we can squeeze him in today. I said, what do you mean? I'm scheduled for this ultrasound, he's fastest and medicated, all ready for it like you told me. He said, don't worry, we'll get him in. So he had me leave him. I got a phone call from the office manager about an hour and half later saying there was a mix up at the front desk and they were too booked to get him in today. I reiterated that he was fastest and medicated and she apologized and said that Dr. Lucas, the owner, has tomorrow off and she will come in special to do it. What could I really say but ok? They told me to wait to pick him up for 45 min in case they needed to do any tests. When I picked him up I asked what had actually been done today? She said, nothing, he hasn't even been out of his carrier. So he sat there 4 hours in his carrier? Yup. When I brought him home he had peed and pooped himself all that time stuck in the carrier. He's never done that in the 6 years of having him. They just parked him in the back for 4 hours and left him sitting there. I was told the owner would come in the next day at 10 am special for me and to have him fasted and medicated again, ready to go. I was mad but I had no faster option, and mistakes do happen so I agreed. Next day, he's ready to go and I decide to call just to double check after yesterday. I call and ask if Dr. Lucas is still on schedule for 10 am because he is medicated and fasted again. (It's 45 min before the appointment THEY scheduled) She says she has no idea, she wasn't there yesterday, just bring him in. I say, well he’s already medicated and I’d like to meet her and chat for a minute seeing how I don’t know her. She says, well she usually calls afterward, and she’s squeezing you in, if you know what I mean. I say, actually I don’t understand. You gave me an appointment at 10 am for a mistake YOUR office made. If she’s coming in just for me, at the time YOU picked, why can’t she meet me for a couple minutes first? She says, well let me call her and find out. She calls back and says... Dr Lucas said she’s very busy on her day off and doesn’t have time to meet you before hand. She’s busy watching dogs, running errands and watching a kid. She said drop him off and she’ll swing by at some point today as a favor to you. If his medication has worn off by then there is nothing we can do. If you don’t like it, you can bring him somewhere else. INFURIATED. Their office made the mistake. SHE offered to come in on her day off and SHE picked the time. So he was supposed to sit there all day after being fasted and medicated AGAIN, when she had no intention of coming in when she scheduled me. The lack of disregard and care for my cat was disgusting, not only by her as the owner, but her staff too. If she didn't want to come in on her day off I wish she wouldn't have offered to. Instead she wasted critical days for my cat which pushed him into the weekend where vet care is even more limited, even at the ER. He ended up passing away over the weekend because of this chain of events. They also wouldn't refund my $500 deposit on that Friday, I had to call the next week to get it back. KEEP YOUR BABIES AWAY FROM THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!

With my wide range of "babies" at home from snakes, to lizards, to parrots/birds, I have found Upstate Animal Medical Center the only place I will bring any of them. Dr. Lucas is a fantastic vet. She has been patient, understanding, and incredibly helpful for all my animals no matter if it is a check up or an emergency. The staff at the front are always polite and willing to work with you and your schedule in any manner they can. I drive almost 45 minutes to bring my animals here.

The best vet experience I've ever had. I had 3 pets with me at once and everyone was extremely patient and accommodating. I was having a terrible day, and bringing three animals on a car trip compounded that. As soon as we got to the center it was so much better. The staff was extremely patient dealing with 3 pets (and their medical records) at once. I felt Dr. Cherry really took his time to speak with me and make sure all my questions were answered. He explained in detail my pet's health status and I loved the report card. Although I didn't use it this visit, I truly appreciate that they offer a military discount as well. We will be back (hopefully not until our next checkup!)

We have taken our "kids" here for years. Hands down the best staff we have ever encountered within the pet care world. From the doctors to the techs and reception, we have always felt cared for. We have had experiences with the veterinarian "businesses" where you feel like a product, but not with these folks...not even close. This team genuinely cares about these fuzzy babies and their owners. We truly love Upstate Animal for all the care and help they have given us throughout the years, and we will never have any other team care for our pets. If you love your pet, please give them the best care out there. Give them Upstate Animal Medical Center!

I have been going to Dr. Lucas for my dogs since 1999. I followed her from Shaker Vet to Upstate when she started her own practice. She, Dr. Cherry, and her staff are compassionate, smart and professional. They will take you on a dime for an emergency and I have never had a negative experience. They have taken care of my babies through the last days, truly the best around.

We took our dog here for several years. They were fine for the routine check up, although we sometimes waited as long as 45 minutes and the Vet never spent more than 15 minutes with us. However, the low rating is due to the fact that when our dog became ill she was completely mistreated. We went through weeks of leaving messages and no one calling us back. When we explained that the medicine they prescribed was upsetting her stomach, Dr. Lucas was extremely dismissive and told us we were wrong. She spent very little time diagnosing the problem and offered us no options. We eventually switched Vets, discovered our dog had cancer not hypothyroidism, and wholeheartedly regret not leaving sooner.

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would! My friend (who, by the way is a vet tech) called since her chicken seems to have some necrotic tissue on her head. Well one of the vet techs (a woman, not sure what her name was) came on the phone and was right away absolutely rude and disrespectful. She just needed to know what is safe to use on her chicken temporarily (NOT looking for a prescription over the phone) and she was told that was illegal and she "should know better that we can't give prescriptions over the phone since you're a vet tech". That was absolutely unnecessary and disrespectful and I am disappointed in how she was treated as a potential client.

If you want the best all around care for your pet, comprehensive explanations for your peace of mind, and a total staff focused on providing great care, look no further. I have taken all my animals ( over 25 in the past 15 years) and live more than an hour away .....I will not compromise the care and this is the best. Dr.Lucas and Dr.Cherry are phenomenal but the entire staff is caring and compassionate. They tolerate us "crazy pet parents" while explaining everything. I cannot thank them enough. Through their care and guidance they have improved the quality and length of life for so many of my pets. Thanks Upstate.

We took our rabbit here to see Joy back in January 2016 when her head started tilting. After months of attempting to resolve the problem, it only got worse and the rabbit was basically confined to her cage although she could still eat and drink. We asked about putting the rabbit down but Joy assured us the bunny was not in pain so this was not necessary. We kept bringing her back to ask about this as, to the just about anyone, the rabbits quality of life did not seem worthwhile but Joy insisted she was perfectly fine, just a head tilt was present. After speaking with a new vet recently to get a 2nd opinion, it turns out that the rabbit also has a skin infection that was present during our time with Joy that she did not diagnose (rabbits had the infection for over a year and Joy missed it during multiple visits). Our new vet was also very hands on with the rabbit, taking samples from her ear, checks or her stomach, etc. Joy did not do any of this during the visits. I would seek 2nd opinions if you take your pet here, or at least see a different vet.
Joy Lucas does not really care about your pet at all and in my opinion is a crook.

I currently own 2 birds and have been looking for an avian vet that was friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I went to a vet closer to home and was unhappy due he did not care about my one bird coming from an abusive house prior to me and I later discovered they clipped his wings wrong. Dr . Lucas was amazing! she was very sweet with my babies and she took the time to answer my questions as well as explain everything in terms I understand. I drive 35 minutes to go to her and I will be keeping her as the vet for all my animals!

Dr Lucas and the staff are amazing and have been a life/sanity saver for me. Treating ferrets is no easy task sometimes and they make it look effortless. I've been there at least every 2 weeks with one of mine (Loki) for the last 4 months and 10 days, twice has been on emergency basis and twice he has surgery. They are amazing and I'm going to oddly miss my frequent visits. Thank you guys so much for all you do!

My experience here was absolutely horrible..I had an appointment for my bearded dragon 8/29. My boyfriend and I waited about 15 minutes until we were actually seen..but that was to be expected. Once we got into our room, we were asked questions about what was wrong with terrian. Answered to the best of our knowledge, told the tech aid our research that we have done on MBD and gout for bearded dragons. She was very sweet, although ...when Joy Lucas came into the room..sadly she wasn't pleasant at all.. She didn't introduce herself , nor achnowledge our presence..Actually she was nothing but, arrogant and condescending.. She not once listened to what we had to say, nor educate us on MBD or gout..although we have done extensive research on both ..it would have been nice considering she's a vet..
When she " exammed" terrian, (which was lift his legs a bit) she concluded that it was MBD( metabolic bone disease).. Said nothing else and walked right out of the exam room..which her time in the room consisted of about 5 minutes in total.. After that her polite aid came back into the room and handed me and my boyfriend this huge bill.. 54 $ for an exam that took 5 minutes ! And then insisted that terrian needed an X-ray.. We had questions for Lucas, about the X-ray ..instead of actually coming back into the exam room, she just had her aid be the middle man and answer for her.. Nothing but rude..
Me and my boy friend have 9 reptiles.. I can say, we WILL never give her any of our business.. Nor will I EVER recommend her to a friend..

A father headed home after getting his 8 month old's seizure medication and hit a mailbox that was lying in the middle of the road.. the suv flipped and landed in the front yard tearing up the lawn (he was not under the influence nor at fault). She harrassed the man as well as his fiancè after she showed up on scene. She made rude and nasty comments regarding the man along with her colleagues, following with smerks and laughter.. The only concern i heard was for her grass... no ones life.. this man couldve been killed.. after witnessing this i cant truly believe these people have any type of concern for the well being of others.. i will NEVER bring my business or my pets to someone who acts in this manner. I was absolutely disgusted.. Shame on all of you "people."

There are reviews here from a few years ago that say Upstate Animal Medical Center is expensive and the people are unfriendly. Those people must be bitter or things must have changed because this place is amazing.
The staff is very friendly, the wait times are nothing compared to other vets and to doctors I've been to. And the prices are just awesome.
Over the last few months, they've seen all three of our ferrets. Here's a list of what they did:
Bear:
-office visit
-ultrasound
-splenectomy
-hospitalization
-overnight stay
-steroid medication
Sadi:
-office visit
-hormone implant
-melatonin implant
Buddi:
-office visit
-x-ray
-hospitalization
-fluids (x2)
-overnight stay (x2)
-barium
-diagnostic x-ray
-three different medications
Dr. Lucas saved two of their lives and brought the other one back to health.
And it was all under $2,500. That is an absolutely incredible price for the amount of care they gave our ferrets.
Dr. Lucas is so passionate about what she does and she cares deeply for these animals. I would strongly recommend Upstate Animal Medical Center. You won't regret it.

Just arrived for the summer from Florida with my 5 little Rescue dogs. One was starting to act sick, loss of appetite that went into vomiting. My friend Gayle recommended Dr Joy. By the time I got to the office, she was violently ill. Vomiting and diarrhea all over thr place. The office staff was fantastic and Dr Joy was wonerful. Turns out they had a contagious, bacterial gastritis and all 5 needed treatment. I can't say enough how quickly and professionally everyone was and with the muti dog discount I was very grateful for how reasonable the bill was! Thank you Dr. Joy and staff

Beyond furious right now, exactly one week ago today my fiance' and I had to put our beloved dog down, we paid in advance for him to have a private cremation through infinity services. Yesterday we received a call that he would be available to pickup today 3/25/16. We called before arriving (luckily we did) and were informed that he had not been picked up. Excuse me what? My dog has been in a freezer for the last week!? This is beyond absurd and quite frankly extremely disrespectful not only too us but to our dog. I'm disappointed and angry at this careless service that was provided. You'd expect more from a veterinarian office.

I am very disappointed in all of the staff at Upstate Animal Medical Center. I received care with my pet Stimpy this passed Saturday. Being a three day weekend, it seemed everyone was in a rush. When the vet pulled Stimpy out of her carrier and held her down on the table, she screamed like something I have never heard before. After going home, I realized both of her legs where either broken or out of socket. She died the next day. I do not regret bringing her to the vet, I do however regret brining her to THIS vet. I feel as if I paid money to have my pet harmed and in the end killed.

They don't do exotic animals and sent me to Upstate animal clinic. When I walked in was greeted by Debbie Cassidy and said the vet wasn't there to take a look at my hamster. Then she rudely informs me well maybe you should have called first! She was rude and snotty and no to mention uncaring for my situation at all, I was then sent to Harmony Hill. Thank god! The vet and all the staff was concerned and friendly and caring. I had to put my hamster asleep but please don't waste your time here. I would not take my pet there. When I'm adopting out cats and dogs I will forever recommend Harmony Hill! It should not matter if you have hamster or a dog a pet is a pet. We love them and when you having a dying pet staff should not be rude and uncaring!! Terrible experience

The office was on time for a same day appointment. Interesting to sit and watch what comes in. A bird that had a skin problem to a beautiful beast ( huge dog, see pics) who had some form of IBS (diarrhea) Would recommend this place and the rates are VERY REASONABLE.

Though the vet is very capable, both her and the office manager are very rude to their employees. They mistreat them verbally in front of customers and have no problems treating their customers the same way. While they are good at their jobs, I don't feel any employees deserve to be treated the way that they treat theirs. It can't be a good working environment for anyone with people like that as your supervisors.

ZERO STARS!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! -- I've never been treated worse by a vet. I needed to get an ultrasound for my cat quickly. I called Upstate Medical Center on Maple Ave in Saratoga Springs, and they said they could get me in that Thursday morning. I had called everywhere, but everyone was booked out by weeks, so I accepted. I was of course nervous bringing my cat to a new place I was unfamiliar with but I had no other option. I was told to bring my cat ready to go, fasted and medicated, ready for the ultrasound. I had a consult with Dr. Tamas at 9 am, who actually put me a little more at ease. He took his time and asked all the right questions to really learn about what was going on and my cats history. I was feeling better about everything up until the last few minutes when he said, I hope we can squeeze him in today. I said, what do you mean? I'm scheduled for this ultrasound, he's fastest and medicated, all ready for it like you told me. He said, don't worry, we'll get him in. So he had me leave him. I got a phone call from the office manager about an hour and half later saying there was a mix up at the front desk and they were too booked to get him in today. I reiterated that he was fastest and medicated and she apologized and said that Dr. Lucas, the owner, has tomorrow off and she will come in special to do it. What could I really say but ok? They told me to wait to pick him up for 45 min in case they needed to do any tests. When I picked him up I asked what had actually been done today? She said, nothing, he hasn't even been out of his carrier. So he sat there 4 hours in his carrier? Yup. When I brought him home he had peed and pooped himself all that time stuck in the carrier. He's never done that in the 6 years of having him. They just parked him in the back for 4 hours and left him sitting there. I was told the owner would come in the next day at 10 am special for me and to have him fasted and medicated again, ready to go. I was mad but I had no faster option, and mistakes do happen so I agreed. Next day, he's ready to go and I decide to call just to double check after yesterday. I call and ask if Dr. Lucas is still on schedule for 10 am because he is medicated and fasted again. (It's 45 min before the appointment THEY scheduled) She says she has no idea, she wasn't there yesterday, just bring him in. I say, well he’s already medicated and I’d like to meet her and chat for a minute seeing how I don’t know her. She says, well she usually calls afterward, and she’s squeezing you in, if you know what I mean. I say, actually I don’t understand. You gave me an appointment at 10 am for a mistake YOUR office made. If she’s coming in just for me, at the time YOU picked, why can’t she meet me for a couple minutes first? She says, well let me call her and find out. She calls back and says... Dr Lucas said she’s very busy on her day off and doesn’t have time to meet you before hand. She’s busy watching dogs, running errands and watching a kid. She said drop him off and she’ll swing by at some point today as a favor to you. If his medication has worn off by then there is nothing we can do. If you don’t like it, you can bring him somewhere else. INFURIATED. Their office made the mistake. SHE offered to come in on her day off and SHE picked the time. So he was supposed to sit there all day after being fasted and medicated AGAIN, when she had no intention of coming in when she scheduled me. The lack of disregard and care for my cat was disgusting, not only by her as the owner, but her staff too. If she didn't want to come in on her day off I wish she wouldn't have offered to. Instead she wasted critical days for my cat which pushed him into the weekend where vet care is even more limited, even at the ER. He ended up passing away over the weekend because of this chain of events. They also wouldn't refund my $500 deposit on that Friday, I had to call the next week to get it back. KEEP YOUR BABIES AWAY FROM THESE HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!!

With my wide range of "babies" at home from snakes, to lizards, to parrots/birds, I have found Upstate Animal Medical Center the only place I will bring any of them. Dr. Lucas is a fantastic vet. She has been patient, understanding, and incredibly helpful for all my animals no matter if it is a check up or an emergency. The staff at the front are always polite and willing to work with you and your schedule in any manner they can. I drive almost 45 minutes to bring my animals here.

The best vet experience I've ever had. I had 3 pets with me at once and everyone was extremely patient and accommodating. I was having a terrible day, and bringing three animals on a car trip compounded that. As soon as we got to the center it was so much better. The staff was extremely patient dealing with 3 pets (and their medical records) at once. I felt Dr. Cherry really took his time to speak with me and make sure all my questions were answered. He explained in detail my pet's health status and I loved the report card. Although I didn't use it this visit, I truly appreciate that they offer a military discount as well. We will be back (hopefully not until our next checkup!)

We have taken our "kids" here for years. Hands down the best staff we have ever encountered within the pet care world. From the doctors to the techs and reception, we have always felt cared for. We have had experiences with the veterinarian "businesses" where you feel like a product, but not with these folks...not even close. This team genuinely cares about these fuzzy babies and their owners. We truly love Upstate Animal for all the care and help they have given us throughout the years, and we will never have any other team care for our pets. If you love your pet, please give them the best care out there. Give them Upstate Animal Medical Center!

She, Dr. Cherry, and her staff are compassionate, smart and professional. They will take you on a dime for an emergency and I have never had a negative experience. They have taken care of my babies through the last days, truly the best around.

This is the best clinic in Saratoga!!! Dr Lucas is a superhero. I went here for 10 years with my furbabies before I had to move south. In that time, my dogs life was saved twice. We love you, UAMC!

We took our dog here for several years. They were fine for the routine check up, although we sometimes waited as long as 45 minutes and the Vet never spent more than 15 minutes with us. However, the low rating is due to the fact that when our dog became ill she was completely mistreated. We went through weeks of leaving messages and no one calling us back. When we explained that the medicine they prescribed was upsetting her stomach, Dr. Lucas was extremely dismissive and told us we were wrong. She spent very little time diagnosing the problem and offered us no options. We eventually switched Vets, discovered our dog had cancer not hypothyroidism, and wholeheartedly regret not leaving sooner.

If I could rate this 0 stars, I would! My friend (who, by the way is a vet tech) called since her chicken seems to have some necrotic tissue on her head. Well one of the vet techs (a woman, not sure what her name was) came on the phone and was right away absolutely rude and disrespectful. She just needed to know what is safe to use on her chicken temporarily (NOT looking for a prescription over the phone) and she was told that was illegal and she "should know better that we can't give prescriptions over the phone since you're a vet tech". That was absolutely unnecessary and disrespectful and I am disappointed in how she was treated as a potential client.

If you want the best all around care for your pet, comprehensive explanations for your peace of mind, and a total staff focused on providing great care, look no further. I have taken all my animals ( over 25 in the past 15 years) and live more than an hour away .....I will not compromise the care and this is the best. Dr.Lucas and Dr.Cherry are phenomenal but the entire staff is caring and compassionate. They tolerate us "crazy pet parents" while explaining everything. I cannot thank them enough. Through their care and guidance they have improved the quality and length of life for so many of my pets. Thanks Upstate.

We took our rabbit here to see Joy back in January 2016 when her head started tilting. After months of attempting to resolve the problem, it only got worse and the rabbit was basically confined to her cage although she could still eat and drink. We asked about putting the rabbit down but Joy assured us the bunny was not in pain so this was not necessary. We kept bringing her back to ask about this as, to the just about anyone, the rabbits quality of life did not seem worthwhile but Joy insisted she was perfectly fine, just a head tilt was present. After speaking with a new vet recently to get a 2nd opinion, it turns out that the rabbit also has a skin infection that was present during our time with Joy that she did not diagnose (rabbits had the infection for over a year and Joy missed it during multiple visits). Our new vet was also very hands on with the rabbit, taking samples from her ear, checks or her stomach, etc. Joy did not do any of this during the visits. I would seek 2nd opinions if you take your pet here, or at least see a different vet.
Joy Lucas does not really care about your pet at all and in my opinion is a crook.

I currently own 2 birds and have been looking for an avian vet that was friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. I went to a vet closer to home and was unhappy due he did not care about my one bird coming from an abusive house prior to me and I later discovered they clipped his wings wrong. Dr . Lucas was amazing! she was very sweet with my babies and she took the time to answer my questions as well as explain everything in terms I understand. I drive 35 minutes to go to her and I will be keeping her as the vet for all my animals!

Dr Lucas and the staff are amazing and have been a life/sanity saver for me. Treating ferrets is no easy task sometimes and they make it look effortless. I've been there at least every 2 weeks with one of mine (Loki) for the last 4 months and 10 days, twice has been on emergency basis and twice he has surgery. They are amazing and I'm going to oddly miss my frequent visits. Thank you guys so much for all you do!

My experience here was absolutely horrible..I had an appointment for my bearded dragon 8/29. My boyfriend and I waited about 15 minutes until we were actually seen..but that was to be expected. Once we got into our room, we were asked questions about what was wrong with terrian. Answered to the best of our knowledge, told the tech aid our research that we have done on MBD and gout for bearded dragons. She was very sweet, although ...when Joy Lucas came into the room..sadly she wasn't pleasant at all.. She didn't introduce herself , nor achnowledge our presence..Actually she was nothing but, arrogant and condescending.. She not once listened to what we had to say, nor educate us on MBD or gout..although we have done extensive research on both ..it would have been nice considering she's a vet..
When she " exammed" terrian, (which was lift his legs a bit) she concluded that it was MBD( metabolic bone disease).. Said nothing else and walked right out of the exam room..which her time in the room consisted of about 5 minutes in total.. After that her polite aid came back into the room and handed me and my boyfriend this huge bill.. 54 $ for an exam that took 5 minutes ! And then insisted that terrian needed an X-ray.. We had questions for Lucas, about the X-ray ..instead of actually coming back into the exam room, she just had her aid be the middle man and answer for her.. Nothing but rude..
Me and my boy friend have 9 reptiles.. I can say, we WILL never give her any of our business.. Nor will I EVER recommend her to a friend..

The owner might be all about helping animals but doesnt seem to have a care for the well being of a humans life over the grass in the front of the building. There was an accident today.. A father headed home after getting his 8 month old's seizure medication and hit a mailbox that was lying in the middle of the road.. the suv flipped and landed in the front yard tearing up the lawn (he was not under the influence nor at fault). She harrassed the man as well as his fiancè after she showed up on scene. She made rude and nasty comments regarding the man along with her colleagues, following with smerks and laughter.. The only concern i heard was for her grass... no ones life.. this man couldve been killed.. after witnessing this i cant truly believe these people have any type of concern for the well being of others.. i will NEVER bring my business or my pets to someone who acts in this manner. I was absolutely disgusted.. Shame on all of you "people."

There are reviews here from a few years ago that say Upstate Animal Medical Center is expensive and the people are unfriendly. Those people must be bitter or things must have changed because this place is amazing.
The staff is very friendly, the wait times are nothing compared to other vets and to doctors I've been to. And the prices are just awesome.
Over the last few months, they've seen all three of our ferrets. Here's a list of what they did:
Bear:
-office visit
-ultrasound
-splenectomy
-hospitalization
-overnight stay
-steroid medication
Sadi:
-office visit
-hormone implant
-melatonin implant
Buddi:
-office visit
-x-ray
-hospitalization
-fluids (x2)
-overnight stay (x2)
-barium
-diagnostic x-ray
-three different medications
Dr. Lucas saved two of their lives and brought the other one back to health.
And it was all under $2,500. That is an absolutely incredible price for the amount of care they gave our ferrets.
Dr. Lucas is so passionate about what she does and she cares deeply for these animals. I would strongly recommend Upstate Animal Medical Center. You won't regret it.

Just arrived for the summer from Florida with my 5 little Rescue dogs. One was starting to act sick, loss of appetite that went into vomiting. My friend Gayle recommended Dr Joy. By the time I got to the office, she was violently ill. Vomiting and diarrhea all over thr place. The office staff was fantastic and Dr Joy was wonerful. Turns out they had a contagious, bacterial gastritis and all 5 needed treatment. I can't say enough how quickly and professionally everyone was and with the muti dog discount I was very grateful for how reasonable the bill was! Thank you Dr. Joy and staff

Beyond furious right now, exactly one week ago today my fiance' and I had to put our beloved dog down, we paid in advance for him to have a private cremation through infinity services. Yesterday we received a call that he would be available to pickup today 3/25/16. We called before arriving (luckily we did) and were informed that he had not been picked up. Excuse me what? My dog has been in a freezer for the last week!? This is beyond absurd and quite frankly extremely disrespectful not only too us but to our dog. I'm disappointed and angry at this careless service that was provided. You'd expect more from a veterinarian office.

I am very disappointed in all of the staff at Upstate Animal Medical Center. I received care with my pet Stimpy this passed Saturday. Being a three day weekend, it seemed everyone was in a rush. When the vet pulled Stimpy out of her carrier and held her down on the table, she screamed like something I have never heard before. After going home, I realized both of her legs where either broken or out of socket. She died the next day. I do not regret bringing her to the vet, I do however regret brining her to THIS vet. I feel as if I paid money to have my pet harmed and in the end killed.

My parents have been clients of this office for about 8-10 years if not longer and our family pets have had incredible care from all of the staff especially Dr. Lucas and Dr. cherry. Now that I've grown up and moved back to the area we bring our Merlin here and I wouldn't ever take him somewhere else. Incredibly happy with his care and their compassion.

They don't do exotic animals and sent me to Upstate animal clinic. When I walked in was greeted by Debbie Cassidy and said the vet wasn't there to take a look at my hamster. Then she rudely informs me well maybe you should have called first! She was rude and snotty and no to mention uncaring for my situation at all, I was then sent to Harmony Hill. Thank god! The vet and all the staff was concerned and friendly and caring. I had to put my hamster asleep but please don't waste your time here. I would not take my pet there. When I'm adopting out cats and dogs I will forever recommend Harmony Hill! It should not matter if you have hamster or a dog a pet is a pet. We love them and when you having a dying pet staff should not be rude and uncaring!! Terrible experience

First time here-Lil furball needed to be updated on his shots. Friendly desk staff. The female vet- very cool. Very sexy- granola- hipster with a great personality. Soft spoken and knows her stuff. The office was on time for a same day appointment. Interesting to sit and watch what comes in. A bird that had a skin problem to a beautiful beast ( huge dog, see pics) who had some form of IBS (diarrhea) Would recommend this place and the rates are VERY REASONABLE.

Though the vet is very capable, both her and the office manager are very rude to their employees. They mistreat them verbally in front of customers and have no problems treating their customers the same way. While they are good at their jobs, I don't feel any employees deserve to be treated the way that they treat theirs. It can't be a good working environment for anyone with people like that as your supervisors.
