Let me start by saying Dr Deborah Snyder is one of the best Vet's we have ever had. Been with her since she opened her practice and before that when she was in another practice. I have always given her the highest praise and will continue to do so if we are speaking about Doctor quality. However her front line staff seem disinterested and don't listen very well. Two years ago we adopted a rescue and brought her right to Dr Snyder. It was evident early on that our new dog was going to a hand full and have anxiety issues and separation problems. After having her attend doggy day care on two different days we were told if we wanted to do further day care they would have to crate my dog during her stay. Not because she is mean but because she is too playful. Fine I can't take her there, but funny her groomer keeps her most of the day with other dogs and they love having her. The reason I am looking for a new Vet is because for every appointment I have made for my dog who doesn't think waiting in the waiting room for twenty plus minutes before another twenty plus in the exam room before she see's the Dr. is something she is good doing. The last appointment I made I told them AGAIN please make an appointment at anytime that will result in the shortest stay possible for my dog who is going to whine her entire visit. So today true to form check in go outside wait for 15 minutes past appointment time. Tech comes out and says room is ready to which I reply is Dr. ? I then asked her to let me know when the Dr. was ready. I waited a few more minutes walked in told them to print out my dogs records to assist her new Vet TBD. I will miss dealing with Dr. Snyder, but not having to deal with her staff will make that pain more manageable. It's too bad that the current front desk staff is such a poor reflection on a good Dr. If your pet is willing to play dead for the wait time then bring a good book and have fun.

I don't even wanna give this vet place any stars! We bought our cats in to get neutered and it was an awful experience. First of all nobody called to confirm your appointment, second, nobody called to tel me how my cats were doing, third nobody called to tell me when to pick them up! This place has horrible customer service. Let me get to the best part.. we bought our cats home , not even 15 mins of getting in the door we noticed our cat wasn't acting right. He was loosing so much blood he didn't know where he was. Bought him back to river road and the doctor told us we had to go to emergency room!!!! The emergency room told us the doctor pulled a blood vessel.. we spend more then 800 on an emergency bill. To some this up.. river road vet didn't even follow up with us on the cat was doing or even offered any help!! That place just wants your money and doesn't care about anything.

We have taken our dog to River Road since it opened and have always been happy with the the team Dr Snyder has put together there. They are compassionate, knowledgeable, and always seem to have your best interests at heart. From the front desk, to the techs, to Dr Snyder, we never had to hesitate about bringing our dog there for routine treatment, sickness, or boarding. We moved away this summer and only hope our new vet gives the same service as River Road.

After having a bad experience with taking our new rescue dog who was very skittish to a different vet, I decided to try this practice instead. Unlike the other vet they allowed our scared new rescue to stay on the floor instead of insisting that she must stand on the exam table. I also switched her to doggie daycare here after our previous daycare moved too far away and my dog loves going to their daycare. Plus recently she was boarded for the first time and that was also a positive experience. I recommend River Road to all my neighbors now and even decided to move my cats care here instead of driving a distance to a cat only vets.

I tried this vet after moving because of their association with Dr. Rocchio from East Greenbush Animal Hospital (where I have taken my pets for about 7/8 years now). I thought the vet/vet techs were fine, although I didn't feel an especial response to anyone.I am not impressed by the reception area staff, however. I've been a few times at this point and each time, I've just stood there, awkwardly, waiting for someone to acknowledge me or my husband so we can check out. I understand that people need to take care of paperwork issues, but some indication I will be helped as soon as possible would be appreciated. Additionally, making an appointment has been unnecessarily confusing on a couple of occasions and their hours are not as convenient as EGAH.Ultimately, I appreciate what they do well, but I think I will be trying another recommended nearby vet before making the decision to continue having my animals seen here. If my dog didn't get car sick and my cats didn't yowl the whole time, I'd just continue the journey to EGAH.

The staff here is amazing! My dog was in heat and I really needed her to be spayed so her and my male wouldn't have puppies and they did it for me knowing how concerned I was about her getting pregnant. They are all wonderful and care so much about your animal. They made sure to keep me updated about my dog and made me feel so comfortable about everything. Definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new vet.

I would not recommend this animal hospital to anyone seeking a professional establishment. The procedures the staff use with the animals in their care are very questionable and I would think the technician shaking an animal carrier repeatedly upside down to have the animal fall out of the cage on to a metal table is not a very logical approach and boarder line animal cruelty. I would suggest anyone looking for a good atmosphere veterinarian to look elsewhere or at very least keep a close eye on how they treat your 4 legged companion.

This is a great animal hospital!!! My dog and cat have been taken care of, groomed, and stayed here and they all have been good. They have a clean safe place for your pets to stay. My dog has had a couple issues over the last couple years and they all have been treated by this animal hospital. The only reason I'm giving this review 4 stars is I just don't feel like this should be givens full 5 stars. But other than that I love this animal hospital and definitely a great place!!!!!

My fiance and I adopted our dog at the end of May and wanted to get in with a Vet right away for a checkup. We chose River Road Animal Hospital after recommendations from family and friends and are 100% happy! Our initial visit we unfortunately found out that our Harley girl, originally from KY, has lyme disease and they were very informative about this disease in dogs. I have no doubt that they will give Harley the best doggie help she needs, now and in the future. The facility is the cleanest Vet I have seen by far and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend this Vet to anyone who has animals and wants the best care. We were happy to even receive a card in the mail, welcoming us and Harley to the Vet. I thought that was a very sweet gesture :)

I've had plenty of great experiences at River Rd animal hospital, the staff is always helpful and informative and I really appreciate the passion they put into their work, the facility is always clean and well maintained, and the kennel staff is also very helpful if you happen to be boarding your dog. I feel very confident and comfortable leaving my dogs when I go on vacation because they're always taken care of so well. Also unlike many of the practices I've visited reception is always very respectful and kind. Not to mention one of the technicians is super cute (:

I've been bringing my pets to the River Road Animal Hospital since it opened 5 years ago (and prior to the Aqueduct where Dr. Snyder was previously). She is probably the most caring, compassionate and skilled vet that I have worked with in the past 30 years (since the time I first owned pets as an adult). The service is excellent -often getting you an emergency appointment when needed, thorough check-ups and when it comes time for that sorrowful day, they are there for you. (Dr. Goeldner is also very similar in both personality and skill sets). The staff are also wonderfully supportive. They are a knowledgeable group. I've lost three pets in the past few years, all having lived very long lives and I attribute their length of time with me, at least in part, due to the care they received at RRAH.

As pets get older and chronic conditions seep their way in, it's always stressful on the owner. They are dealing with care and looming bills. Unfortunately, this clinic is based more on lining their pockets through over-and-beyond tests and procedures rather then looking at past history and making smart decisions that allow an older pet to be comfortable and not over tax the owner. For one time and yearly visits for your overall healthy pet, they're fine. But for a pet that requires extra care when it comes to boarding and vet care I would chose elsewhere.

Almost killed my cat. When I went in after a routine procedure with complaints of odd behavior (that i now know to be red flags for what had happened to my cat) it was not taken very seriously and a bogus diagnosis was given to me that already did not make sense given the time frame. As time passed and still only decline was seen, my suspicion was confirmed that something extremely wrong with my cat. Upon seeing another vet who took one look at the recent records and immediately knew what had happened I was furious that RRAH had fed me that false story. I cannot believe that with as much veterinary experience that is claimed by this vet, the symptoms exhibited were not recognized as the true problem, or maybe they were and realizing the mistake on their part, fed me some BS. My cat was extremely over medicated, especially for the procedure, and now has irreversible neurological damage and needs pills twice a day to keep from walking around and falling down like she is drunk, among other lack of function and seizures. The pills help to an extent but she is only getting worse and the meds that currently reduce her symptoms will need to be increased as she declines. I hope you learn from my experience that this is not the place to bring an animal that is part of your family.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Deborah Snyder and the staff here. Back in February I had to put down my best friend of 13 years.It was knowing that he was being handled by people who had loved and cared for him that may it even a little bearable.I can't thank them enough for their kindness and compassion during one of the hardest times in my life. I just got a new puppy and I can't wait to take her over to meet everyone.

Love this place and so does our dog. Dr.Snyder is caring, and is actually interested in you and your pet, you are not just a # like at the big box pet stores. I like how they also take a picture of your pet and post the picture on the wall in the office to show the new dogs/cats. With a new puppy i had a lot of questions from food, shots etc not only did Dr.Snyder answer all of them she also gave great advice and insight. Great facility, very clean, warm and inviting and the front desk staff are great as well. If you are looking for a great place to take your pet this is it.

We've had our pet (medium dog) for just about 6 months and she's been to see Dr. Snyder twice. Dr. Snyder is a caring and loving vet, you can tell when you meet her that her passion really is animals. Our first visit was a shelter checkup (this was because we adopted our dog and she had been given all her shots while at the shelter). Dr. Snyder asked us about our pet's activities and interactions with other pets. Because our pet visits the dog park during the week, Dr. Snyder recommended a vaccination for outdoor activity. She explained what the vaccination was and its benefits. The second time we saw Dr. Snyder was due to skin irritation and hairloss. Rather than immediately prescribing medication, she suggested we try vitamin E supplements and shampoo and see if that helped. Within two weeks, the irritation was gone and her hair began to grow back in the balding areas. My only negative was when I scheduled the second visit, the receptionist said they could fit my pet in that same week but upon paying for services, I was charged for an emergency visit. The office also does doggie daycare and boarding which we will be using prior to and during Thanksgiving week. I will update once I have experience with that service.
Update: We've used the boarding services twice since November and our dog loves it! We're given a report card of her activities and demeanor upon pickup. While her reports always say "Did not finish food" she does not appear hungry or thirsty when we pick her up (I've read increased thirst is a sign of anxiety often found in boarded animals). The girls seem caring and Sage is always excited to run to the back upon arrival.

The vet here is Debbie Snyder, who is the "she" referred to in the one review for Aqueduct Animal Hospital, just up the street.Debbie just recently opened this place. She is an absolute prize. We took our dogs in (she had been our vet at Aqueduct) and she did wonderful things with them, even though they were routine. I can't say enough good things about Debbie. She is a prize in her profession.

I tried this vet after moving because of their association with Dr. Rocchio from East Greenbush Animal Hospital (where I have taken my pets for about 7/8 years now). I thought the vet/vet techs were fine, although I didn't feel an especial response to anyone.I am not impressed by the reception area staff, however. I've been a few times at this point and each time, I've just stood there, awkwardly, waiting for someone to acknowledge me or my husband so we can check out. I understand that people need to take care of paperwork issues, but some indication I will be helped as soon as possible would be appreciated. Additionally, making an appointment has been unnecessarily confusing on a couple of occasions and their hours are not as convenient as EGAH.Ultimately, I appreciate what they do well, but I think I will be trying another recommended nearby vet before making the decision to continue having my animals seen here. If my dog didn't get car sick and my cats didn't yowl the whole time, I'd just continue the journey to EGAH.

The staff here is amazing! My dog was in heat and I really needed her to be spayed so her and my male wouldn't have puppies and they did it for me knowing how concerned I was about her getting pregnant. They are all wonderful and care so much about your animal. They made sure to keep me updated about my dog and made me feel so comfortable about everything. Definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new vet.

I would not recommend this animal hospital to anyone seeking a professional establishment. The procedures the staff use with the animals in their care are very questionable and I would think the technician shaking an animal carrier repeatedly upside down to have the animal fall out of the cage on to a metal table is not a very logical approach and boarder line animal cruelty. I would suggest anyone looking for a good atmosphere veterinarian to look elsewhere or at very least keep a close eye on how they treat your 4 legged companion.

This is a great animal hospital!!! My dog and cat have been taken care of, groomed, and stayed here and they all have been good. They have a clean safe place for your pets to stay. My dog has had a couple issues over the last couple years and they all have been treated by this animal hospital. The only reason I'm giving this review 4 stars is I just don't feel like this should be givens full 5 stars. But other than that I love this animal hospital and definitely a great place!!!!!

My fiance and I adopted our dog at the end of May and wanted to get in with a Vet right away for a checkup. We chose River Road Animal Hospital after recommendations from family and friends and are 100% happy! Our initial visit we unfortunately found out that our Harley girl, originally from KY, has lyme disease and they were very informative about this disease in dogs. I have no doubt that they will give Harley the best doggie help she needs, now and in the future. The facility is the cleanest Vet I have seen by far and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend this Vet to anyone who has animals and wants the best care. We were happy to even receive a card in the mail, welcoming us and Harley to the Vet. I thought that was a very sweet gesture :)

I've had plenty of great experiences at River Rd animal hospital, the staff is always helpful and informative and I really appreciate the passion they put into their work, the facility is always clean and well maintained, and the kennel staff is also very helpful if you happen to be boarding your dog. I feel very confident and comfortable leaving my dogs when I go on vacation because they're always taken care of so well. Also unlike many of the practices I've visited reception is always very respectful and kind. Not to mention one of the technicians is super cute (:

I've been bringing my pets to the River Road Animal Hospital since it opened 5 years ago (and prior to the Aqueduct where Dr. Snyder was previously). She is probably the most caring, compassionate and skilled vet that I have worked with in the past 30 years (since the time I first owned pets as an adult). The service is excellent -often getting you an emergency appointment when needed, thorough check-ups and when it comes time for that sorrowful day, they are there for you. (Dr. Goeldner is also very similar in both personality and skill sets). The staff are also wonderfully supportive. They are a knowledgeable group. I've lost three pets in the past few years, all having lived very long lives and I attribute their length of time with me, at least in part, due to the care they received at RRAH.

As pets get older and chronic conditions seep their way in, it's always stressful on the owner. They are dealing with care and looming bills. Unfortunately, this clinic is based more on lining their pockets through over-and-beyond tests and procedures rather then looking at past history and making smart decisions that allow an older pet to be comfortable and not over tax the owner. For one time and yearly visits for your overall healthy pet, they're fine. But for a pet that requires extra care when it comes to boarding and vet care I would chose elsewhere.

Almost killed my cat. When I went in after a routine procedure with complaints of odd behavior (that i now know to be red flags for what had happened to my cat) it was not taken very seriously and a bogus diagnosis was given to me that already did not make sense given the time frame. As time passed and still only decline was seen, my suspicion was confirmed that something extremely wrong with my cat. Upon seeing another vet who took one look at the recent records and immediately knew what had happened I was furious that RRAH had fed me that false story. I cannot believe that with as much veterinary experience that is claimed by this vet, the symptoms exhibited were not recognized as the true problem, or maybe they were and realizing the mistake on their part, fed me some BS. My cat was extremely over medicated, especially for the procedure, and now has irreversible neurological damage and needs pills twice a day to keep from walking around and falling down like she is drunk, among other lack of function and seizures. The pills help to an extent but she is only getting worse and the meds that currently reduce her symptoms will need to be increased as she declines. I hope you learn from my experience that this is not the place to bring an animal that is part of your family.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Deborah Snyder and the staff here. Back in February I had to put down my best friend of 13 years.It was knowing that he was being handled by people who had loved and cared for him that may it even a little bearable.I can't thank them enough for their kindness and compassion during one of the hardest times in my life. I just got a new puppy and I can't wait to take her over to meet everyone.

Love this place and so does our dog. Dr.Snyder is caring, and is actually interested in you and your pet, you are not just a # like at the big box pet stores. I like how they also take a picture of your pet and post the picture on the wall in the office to show the new dogs/cats. With a new puppy i had a lot of questions from food, shots etc not only did Dr.Snyder answer all of them she also gave great advice and insight. Great facility, very clean, warm and inviting and the front desk staff are great as well. If you are looking for a great place to take your pet this is it.

We've had our pet (medium dog) for just about 6 months and she's been to see Dr. Snyder twice. Dr. Snyder is a caring and loving vet, you can tell when you meet her that her passion really is animals. Our first visit was a shelter checkup (this was because we adopted our dog and she had been given all her shots while at the shelter). Dr. Snyder asked us about our pet's activities and interactions with other pets. Because our pet visits the dog park during the week, Dr. Snyder recommended a vaccination for outdoor activity. She explained what the vaccination was and its benefits. The second time we saw Dr. Snyder was due to skin irritation and hairloss. Rather than immediately prescribing medication, she suggested we try vitamin E supplements and shampoo and see if that helped. Within two weeks, the irritation was gone and her hair began to grow back in the balding areas. My only negative was when I scheduled the second visit, the receptionist said they could fit my pet in that same week but upon paying for services, I was charged for an emergency visit. The office also does doggie daycare and boarding which we will be using prior to and during Thanksgiving week. I will update once I have experience with that service.
Update: We've used the boarding services twice since November and our dog loves it! We're given a report card of her activities and demeanor upon pickup. While her reports always say "Did not finish food" she does not appear hungry or thirsty when we pick her up (I've read increased thirst is a sign of anxiety often found in boarded animals). The girls seem caring and Sage is always excited to run to the back upon arrival.

The vet here is Debbie Snyder, who is the "she" referred to in the one review for Aqueduct Animal Hospital, just up the street.Debbie just recently opened this place. She is an absolute prize. We took our dogs in (she had been our vet at Aqueduct) and she did wonderful things with them, even though they were routine. I can't say enough good things about Debbie. She is a prize in her profession.
