Staff is always friendly when I'm there, ridiculously overpriced though. Brought my cat in who was having urinary issues, on top of the exam I spent $85 on two small prescriptions that are sold for literally half the price at other reputable retailers. So all in all I spent roughly $300 to treat my cats urinary crystals. I never complained about paying their jacked up price for any past visits, but to get screwed over on the cost of the meds too? I understand making a profit, but double the price of other places is just too much.

My dog had only been going here for about 8 months since I moved to the area. I can't say enough good things about this office. Unfortunately my dog got really sick and I had to put him down. They were absolutely wonderful! I saw 3 different vets during his illness and loved them all. When the time came for euthanasia they handled it so well. They showed us so much compassion and understanding and put my mind at ease that I was making the right decision. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this office to anyone who appreciates their pet being treated like a member of the family!

The vet care and the techs are great. It's the simple things like getting the right dosage of medications and actually even having meds in stock when they SAY they do and then do not. We've had to go back on 4 occasions to pick up or exchange incorrect meds. Front desk staff really needs to up their game.

A local veterinarian hospital with very polite staff. Wait time for regular check up appointments or emergency visits is minimal. Prices are about what vet private practice should be, and they offer a military discount on some services and products. I have been bringing my pet here for years and the staff is very personable with you and your pet. Sometimes is can be difficult to pull into or out of the parking lot because of local traffic.

I have been taking my two pugs here for 3 years now and my only complaint is their prices. They are a little too high and seem to over charge for medication, visits and shots. The girls are so great with my dogs though, which is why I keep bringing them back even after moving out of state. They are kind, patient and gentle. You can tell they really care about their doggie patients! They got me in right away when I had an emergency and are always providing a listening ear when something of concern arises.

STAY AWAY FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PETS!!!!! I have been going to Rotterdam Vet for many, many years. They started off very good and reliable, but in the past 5 years, there has been a serious decline and I finally left them. Due to their total incompetence, my 6 year old chihuahua almost died. They had no idea what was wrong with him as his ongoing condition was detected within minutes of getting another opinion . His condition was very serious and needed immediate surgery, when Rotterdam sent him home with me with the wrong medication and no diagnosis...only a guess. If I hadn't brought him to another vet, seeing that he was declining so, and followed Rotterdam's instructions of meds and an appt. in three weeks, he would have died. They were also horrible with my daughter's dog's illness who ended up having to be put down. They sold her prescription food ,which was later found to be expired. For the past several years the examinations took place in the back room. When I asked questions about if a common part of the exam was performed, the Dr. said she didn't know!!!! Amazing that when I found out what was wrong with my dog, having researched it myself and suggested that to Rotterdam and they said no that wasn't it. If they knew what they were doing my dog would not have had to have such extensive oral surgery and would not have been so critically ill!!! I only wrote this to save someone else's precious pet..

So many people are not prepared for vet bills. Why have a pet when you can not take care of them? I would recommend Rotterdam to anyone.

As for prices, they are very comparable to other vets in the area. People always expect to get something for nothing. Animals cost money. They do their best to help the animals but they are also a business. The girls there are just great!!

Our cat is an indoor only cat and is the only pet in the house. A real veterinarian would have known that the possibility of this cat having leukemia is extremely rare. When we called and asked them about this they said that it was a requirement before it could be neutered. I asked who required it and she put me on hold then got back on the phone and said that it was their hospitals requirement. Once again real vets don't have unnecessary requirements unless it's a scam just to get your money. I'm only sorry it took me a second visit to realize what a joke these people are.

My cat was wheezing really bad, so I took her to this vet because it was very close to my house. They first told me that she had something lodged in her and she needed surgery which cost $1400 (excluding any extra testing). I was crying because they cat was only 2 years old and I knew I couldn't afford the surgery. They also told me the surgery was not guaranteed and the x-rays didn't show a clear picture. However, it cost me a little over $300. They told me to apply for their credit card to cover the surgery, so I went home to think about it for the night. My cat was still wheezing, and I thought she was dying, choking and suffering, so I tried and didn't qualify for the credit card. Then I said I will have to put her down because I can't get surgery for her and they said they won't do that because she's not dying and said they wanted a different vet to look at her. It turned out there wasn't anything lodged in her, she probably had asthma, so they gave me a perscription for the cat and told me to call in 3 days. When I called they said they can't give me directions over the phone and I needed an appointment. I never went back because I knew they were just going to keep having me go back for appointments, which are costly, and the cat has been fine. I also returned to my other vet, even if it's a far drive.

Charge waaaaaay to much. They set you up so you will need to make another appt. for any stupid reason just to collect another co-pay. They have horrible customer service skills and they are VERY unsanitary!!!!! Really dirty, and the vets could not even diagnose my animal with the correct disease which made him sicker. Needless to say I switched vets and they were amazing, even found a suture that was never removed after his neutering , 3 weeks later! They do not treat animals with love or their owners with respect. F-

Staff is always friendly when I'm there, ridiculously overpriced though. STAY AWAY FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PETS!!!!! I have been going to Rotterdam Vet for many, many years. They started off very good and reliable, but in the past 5 years, there has been a serious decline and I finally left them. Due to their total incompetence, my 6 year old chihuahua almost died. They had no idea what was wrong with him as his ongoing condition was detected within minutes of getting another opinion . His condition was very serious and needed immediate surgery, when Rotterdam sent him home with me with the wrong medication and no diagnosis...only a guess. If I hadn't brought him to another vet, seeing that he was declining so, and followed Rotterdam's instructions of meds and an appt. in three weeks, he would have died. They were also horrible with my daughter's dog's illness who ended up having to be put down. They sold her prescription food ,which was later found to be expired. For the past several years the examinations took place in the back room. When I asked questions about if a common part of the exam was performed, the Dr. said she didn't know!!!! Amazing that when I found out what was wrong with my dog, having researched it myself and suggested that to Rotterdam and they said no that wasn't it. If they knew what they were doing my dog would not have had to have such extensive oral surgery and would not have been so critically ill!!! I only wrote this to save someone else's precious pet..

If have been going to Rotterdam Vet for almost 20 years. I feel like family when I bring my dog in. They are always very helpful. I know pets cost money so I have a credti card just for my dog. So many people are not prepared for vet bills. Why have a pet when you can not take care of them? I would recommend Rotterdam to anyone.

This place is great. They are very caring and knowledgeable. They take the time to go over things with you and never try to make you do something you can't or don't understand. As for prices, they are very comparable to other vets in the area. People always expect to get something for nothing. Animals cost money. They do their best to help the animals but they are also a business. The girls there are just great!!

Our cat is an indoor only cat and is the only pet in the house. A real veterinarian would have known that the possibility of this cat having leukemia is extremely rare. When we called and asked them about this they said that it was a requirement before it could be neutered. I asked who required it and she put me on hold then got back on the phone and said that it was their hospitals requirement. Once again real vets don't have unnecessary requirements unless it's a scam just to get your money. I'm only sorry it took me a second visit to realize what a joke these people are.

My cat was wheezing really bad, so I took her to this vet because it was very close to my house. They first told me that she had something lodged in her and she needed surgery which cost $1400 (excluding any extra testing). I was crying because they cat was only 2 years old and I knew I couldn't afford the surgery. They also told me the surgery was not guaranteed and the x-rays didn't show a clear picture. However, it cost me a little over $300. They told me to apply for their credit card to cover the surgery, so I went home to think about it for the night. My cat was still wheezing, and I thought she was dying, choking and suffering, so I tried and didn't qualify for the credit card. Then I said I will have to put her down because I can't get surgery for her and they said they won't do that because she's not dying and said they wanted a different vet to look at her. It turned out there wasn't anything lodged in her, she probably had asthma, so they gave me a perscription for the cat and told me to call in 3 days. When I called they said they can't give me directions over the phone and I needed an appointment. I never went back because I knew they were just going to keep having me go back for appointments, which are costly, and the cat has been fine. I also returned to my other vet, even if it's a far drive.

They have horrible customer service skills and they are VERY unsanitary!!!!! Really dirty, and the vets could not even diagnose my animal with the correct disease which made him sicker. Needless to say I switched vets and they were amazing, even found a suture that was never removed after his neutering , 3 weeks later! They do not treat animals with love or their owners with respect. F-
