Staten Island Animal Hospital

Staten Island, New York
General Info
Staten Island Animal Hospital in Staten Island offers compassionate and knowledgeable care for pets in the region. These include Boarding, Dental Care, Pet Euthanasia, Grooming, Laboratory Services, Microchipping, Surgery, and Vaccinations. The team is deeply aware of the bond between pets and their families, which is why the practice focuses on wellness, chronic issues, and urgent needs. Staten Island Animal Hospital located in Staten Island offers a veterinary experience that considers the recovery periods, and staged appointments, as well as the impact each visit might have on families from all over New York. Intake processes do not start with paperwork. Instead, they watch how the animal enters and whether it hesitates, circles, vocalizes or anchors its weight at the door. The clinic analyzes patient responses to establish whether a slow, quiet-staging or quick-triage approach is appropriate. Evaluation of physical health involves analysis of balance and ear tension, skin warmth in relation to hydration levels, and fur texture together with oral habit, breath pattern, and resistance handling. “Owner feedback” refers to insights about sleeping positions, possible behavioral changes related to seasons, appetite alterations, or recent tendencies to avoid certain places. Staten Island Animal Hospital provides a wide range of services such as wellness assessments, urgent care, geriatric mapping, weight stabilization programs, and pain indexing. Pets that thrive on short bursts of activity benefit from split services performed over several visits. The full-day staggered method with built-in break times might work better for some people. This way, families can prevent the animal from being retraumatized if it is a noise sensitive and post-operative pet or has a history of fearfulness. Observe and measure body language at home (use guides) and the emotional scale after visits (use guides). The decompression phase necessitates alterations in how owners manage their time, routines, and interactions with the dog. Follow-up scheduling is based on behavioral readiness rather than fixed timelines. Staten Island Animal Hospital provides a veterinary rhythm to pet families in Staten Island and the surrounding New York area that promotes physical healing and emotional self-regulation without compromising clinical precision.

A stray cat wandered onto my property in extremely bad condition. It looked like it was hacked with an axe. His ear was missing, his head was split from front to back, his eyes were pushed in & there were maggots throughout his head & face. So sad! Animal care & control did absolutely nothing & it took 911 3 hours to get back to me. The only help I got was from this animal hospital. We picked him up with gloves & towels & brought him here. The vet & staff met us at the door & helped is the whole time. Very caring people for animals & humans, alike. I highly recommend this place for your pets. Read Less

This place should be shut down. And sued. They have no idea what they're doing and it is at the cost to your pet. They shaved my dog for a spaying procedure and it never grew back. Why, to give her a pain patch when pain medication can be safely administered orally. The staff there is uneducated, and cannot perform simple tests without sitting on your dogs head and neck till they are whimpering, crying and suffocating. My dog snapped because she felt trapped and I still to this day wish she reached skin. Please, I cannot undo my mistakes for trusting these hacks with my dog, but I can prevent you from experiencing what I am going through. This was six months ago and I still am trying to resolve the mistakes they made. I apologize to the few people who work there and did not motivate me to write this review. I suggest you too seek other employment.Read Less
