Vets are condescending when you ask them questions. Over medicate and made both my dogs sick - didn’t bother to discuss the side effects they might experience. They also push procedures, tests and vaccines that are unnecessary. I was recommended Dr. Clark and asked to see this Dr twice when making an appointment. The staff told me that’s who my appointment was with and a different vet showed up both times. GO TO LIVERPOOL ANIMAL HOSPITAL- I don’t know how this place has 5 stars other than it’s in a nice neighborhood. And read some of the other 1 star reviews for this place, all similar. Read Less

Stack and Dr Clark have been tending to our fur baby for 8 years and have taken all our pets there before that. The staff are fantastic. Real animal lovers. Will inform you of the issues but are not pushy to "sell" unnecessary treatments or testing. They accept Care Credit so that is helpful too. Can't believe I forgot to review these folks ! Dr. Jan did my pugs FHO surgery and man what an incredible job she and her team did. Every question and concern was answered with GENUINE care as if my pug was the only patient in the building. Cannot rave about this practice enough! They have been wonderful with both my cat and my dog. Both animals have needed frequent visits recently, and stack has managed to keep the cost very reasonable. They're also wonderful with my animals, and help keep me at ease as well. They clearly lay out options with respect, making treatment feel like a true partnership. I also highly recommend Trainer Dan. He's been so helpful with my anxious dog. Great experience.  The facilities were well maintained, clean, and cozy.  They even had a separate waiting room for dogs and cats (which I appreciated, being a cat owner. It's lower stress on my little guy).  The staff were friendly, I was seen quickly (I made an appointment), and they seemed to care about doing a good job.  Dr. Lovejoy was great - personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. They also didn't try to pressure / guilt me into spending thousands of dollars I couldn't afford. We have been coming here for 2 years now and they are wonderful. Our dog Billie needed a leg amputation and the hospital has been by our side from day 1. The whole staff is super nice and Billie loves going there for routine appointments. We also get reminder post cards when it's time for any boosters or medicine refills. Don't bother for boarding. When you try to request an appointment online they never get back to you! Then when you call you sit on hold for well over 15minutes then give you some lie about how "they sent an email that must not have gone through" just to cover their ass. They won't ever bother to get back to you or call you so you will be lucky if you can even get in. And if they are this careless with their bookings imagine how careless they must be for the animals. I love our dogs vet. They are very thorough when we bring our dogs in. The pricing is pretty reasonable, though I've chosen to do some vaccinations elsewhere for cheaper. My puppy has surgery for a spay and had no complications and the incision is nearly invisible. The ladies always treat my dogs very kindly. Even if I contact them via email. where another location may require you make an appointment for a consult. their vet tech's email me back and help as best they can before they suggest I make an appointment. The entire staff at Stack are amazing and the facility is clean & beautiful. Always kind, compassionate and eager to help. My pug Buddy has been going to Stack for his regular care the last 10 months or so, and recently we had to go to a 24 hour animal hospital for a rapidly deteriorating corneal ulcer. The animal hospital advised me to follow up with my vet (Stack) first thing in the morning for a check up visit later that day. I was planning on calling them on my way to work around 7:50am in the morning and I didn't even have to... they called me FIRST at 7:35am, 5 mins after they opened, saying they received Buddy's animal hospital record from the night before and that they wanted to see him ASAP. They didn't have much availability but they squeezed us in with Dr. Stack himself later that afternoon... and they rang us up as a complimentary followup. I love Stack Veterinary, I am a younger dog owner (21) and have been taking my pup here for 1 year now (he's a a little over a year old) and I have had nothing but great experiences. They have never tried to over charge us because I'm young and have never owned a dog before. Prices are fair, they alway tell you the prices of things before they charge you which I really appreciate. The facility is clean and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. In the beginning we would rotate veterinarians until we met Dr. Love Joy she is AMAZING. We then requested to have her all time. The vet techs can also answer any questions on the phone. My family and I have known the Stack family and have been going to Stack Veterinary Hospital for several decades. They are without question the best veterinary facility in central New York..probably even the Northeast (although I only have experience with several other vet clinics in CNY and none of them even come close). Every single staff member there is incredibly kind, considerate, accommodating, and they all genuinely care. My family and I have 3 dogs and each of them has their own uniqueness, especially when it comes to going to Stacks (some things bother our German Shepherd that my Newfie wouldn't even notice). The staff goes over and above to make sure each of them is happy and comfortable in their own way. Also their doctors are wonderful and spend the extra time for questions/explanations and never rush you out. I also go through Stacks for their dog obedience training. Trainer Dan is a great guy, he absolutely knows his stuff, and I am beyond pleased with his training/socialization programs. They usually see Dr. Kathy Congel, but have also been treated by other doctors when we had to come in for other-than-routine appointments. Over the last few weeks our golden retriever was suffering from health problems that came on suddenly. Dr. Hurley and the staff took excellent care of Chance and us. We had to call often as well as make several emergency appointments. Ultimately Chances health completely failed while we were out of town. Most over priced useless veterinary clinic there is.....they do not carry nursing bottles for kittens??? Can't be much of a vet clinic if they don't know how to bottle feed kittens. I just can't say enough about how wonderful Stack Veterinary Hospital. I had used another Veterinary Hospital close to my home the past 4 years and left for personal reasons.So in my search for a better fit for my 2 hairless Xolos and Chinese Created I started with asking friends, family,coworkers, the dog rescue I volunteer for and a many mentioned how wonderful Stack's was in every regard not one bit of negative other than some thought was a bit on higher prices but with that said this practice is very modern ,has a huge team well trained experienced team and a history of many years of service treating our communitys loved pets after doing all my resurching for the very best care I could offer my very much loved dogs now my experience with cost was really no different and I believe very comparable to many others in CNY and I can say this without a doubt due to me and my partner are on ssdi and work pt so cost is very important to us.So I emailed Stack's explaining my needs for my dogs I not only a email but a phone call from Stack's coodnater she the next day .she was fantastic all around and she was really explained all my questions in great details .so I I made a appointment my male xolo Angel had a growth in middle of this throat they got me in asap . I was greeted right away and my dogs aswell while filling out paper work not much because they called my former vet and had every thing a ready so hardly any paperwork if staff members came out for anything my and other people's dogs were greeted with such warmth .so I look around recpion area was spotless.then like 10 mins vet assistant came out took us in super clean room were she asked and asked if we had any questions she was wonderful. So she went to get DR Stack he did a extensive physical exam answered all our concerns with Angel he had to do a fine needle aspiration of lump he was as kind to ask if I wanted him to do with us in the room or in back I could not bare to see my baby boy getting poked so he and wonderful tech took him in back then I remembered he needed his heartworm test so I went in hall I happen to see a vet and asked if she could tell them in the back to do that she happy did impressive to me Dr,Stack came in like 10 mins explained in great detail and I asked a million questions he was so kind and caring about Angel he left and vet assistant came back cut Angels nails oh she did that in back but explained that test results would be back next day and if we had any other questions me of couse did and she was so pleasant do so and you pay right there wow . Well as her and Dr,Stack said next day Dr Stack himself called me I was working but he left detailed message and I called back on break they found Dr,Stack and it was not cancer but he said it probably be best to remove since it grew fast and he even said he could do it or my past vet heck no I wanted it done there.sorry so entailed but for me to be this impressed by whole experience to write this much says alot how wonderful they truly are my other dogs will go there as well , so if you want a vet hospital that really is detailed oriented treat owner and pet or pets that has a huge team with experience, Rich history that has truly the best care your pet needs and deserves you need to experience how wonderful Stack's is and prices are more than resalable for the the finest quality care for your loved pet and I feel you owe it to you pet to give them a try I can say with 99.9% you will feel as I do sorry so long but I wanted people to know this is a great Hospital Thank you Stack's Read Less

I personally feel that stacks is the best Veterinary Hospital in all of Onondaga County. I have never had to put an animal down before and when I took my buddy to them because he was extremely ill, they explained everything to me and my fiance the day we made the decision to put him down so he wouldn't suffer in pain, the Dr. And staff that we saw were very nice and thoughtful to us and the hard time we were having and before we left they made a casting of his paw print for us to bring home. Not even 2 days later We received a very beautiful rose with vase and a sympathy card from them because of our loss. We personally have never seen or heard any other places doing that for their clients before ever. We give them a 10 star rating instead of a 5 star rating. We searched in Syracuse for the most qualified & experience doctor to perform ACL surgery and found Dr. MacDonald at Stack's came highly recommended by friends, family and strangers. She was very compassionate and THOROUGH when explaining what happened to my dog & the options we had to work with. My dog had surgery in September and he's able to run 4 miles already in January, like nothing ever happened. I highly recommend Dr. MacDonald for your dog's ACL needs! Read Less

We moved here a few months ago with 4 dogs in tow.  Stack is by far the BEST thing we have found in Syracuse!  Our Jack Russell needed surgery to remove bladder stones for the 3rd time.  Dr. Clark, Dr. Hurley and Dr. McDonald all collaborated on different treatments for my little guy even trying a homeopathic avenue before deciding that surgery was the best option.  I have never had such attentive and caring doctors in all my years as a pet owner.  After the Urethreostomy, or making of a new "pee hole", my pup is doing just wonderful and hopefully won't need surgery again for the rest of his days.  Dr. McDonald even sent him the sweetest get well card. To top it off, Deb in the front office called as well to check on him make sure his follow-ups were scheduled properly.  I really couldn't have asked for better care for my fur baby.  If this place and its staff could be cloned and put in every city, the world would be the better for it.
