Everyone at Miller Animal Hospital is kind and easy to talk to. They understand how important our pets are. I've had to have one put down recently and they were very kind and it was as good of an experience as it could have been. I also feel like they are honest and don't suggest a lot of procedures just to make a profit. Their flea/tick/heart-worm preventative treatment prices are fairly competitive, but they've also been very nice about providing prescriptions when we used mail order vet supply companies. Read Less

I am so happy that I had the pleasure of finding Miller Animal Hospital. They are so sweet and friendly towards my puppy, Sophia. She is a very nervous dog and takes a few minutes to get comfortable. The office manager Cathy is rude and the owner is a crook! Was told their credit card box required the card to be present for a refund....however a refund happened after I questioned this policy with the owner. They have no problem charging a card not present. Will be transferring my animals care to another vet immediately! Dr. Kim is great and I feel horrible that she works for such a bad business! I regularly take my dog here for maintenance care and have always had a positive experience. However, I had an exceptional experience with Miller Animal Hospital when we found a very sick stray cat and brought her here. They went way out of their way to let me bring the cat in early in the morning to accommodate my work schedule, even though they didn't have any open appointments. The kitty had to stay there for a couple days, and Dr. Kimmel took a lot of time to call and keep us updated on her status frequently. She put a lot of effort into trying to figure out what was going on, and was also really kind and made sure that we understood everything. Unfortunately the cat had to be put down, but we could really tell that the staff there care a lot about animals and being supportive of pet owners. Read Less

I have only used the large animal side of Miller Animal Hospital but can absolutely attest to the care my horse has received in the past as well as last night by Dr. Rice and her husband. My horse had a case of colic last night that I wasn't able to get him through without medical intervention. I called and within the hour I had the vet at my barn door, ready to help my horse. My horse needed a lot of care and Dr. Rice was fantastic. She didn't give up and did everything in her power to make my horse more comfortable as well as get him back to his normal self. I cannot thank her and her husband enough! Their dedication to animals is fantastic and I will use them for all of my small and large animal care needs in the future! I bring my cat in every few months for a round of Depo shots and occasional laser skin therapy for recurring skin conditions, and the vets, vet techs and administrative staff are fantastic.  They are not pill pushers or profit-minded, seem very honest, and care about the animals' well-being above everything else.Prices for services performed are reasonable.  I can't say I've comparison shopped extensively, however.I recommend Miller Animal Hospital to everyone I know. We were seeing another local vet that was ok, but we definitely were not floored by the service. The doggy daycare my dog attends recommended we give Miller Animal Hospital a shot. We were hesitant at first because we had always been comfortable with our current vet. Then our dog got a respiratory infection on a weekend and was coughing non stop. We called on Monday and tried to get an appointment with our old vet, the soonest opening they had was that Friday. So I decided to finally give Miller a shot. Not only did they see me THAT DAY, but because I was referred by an existing client, my first visit was free and I only had to pay for his medication. I moved to the area earlier this year and was attracted to Miller Animal Hospital by their "first visit free" coupon and I discovered the most caring, attentive animal care facility. The entire staff from veterinarians, to assistants to the office staff, are very  nice and remember you each time you come in. Unfortunately, I had to put down one of my sweet cats and the compassion I received was very comforting and they were very caring about the entire situation even though I am sure they have to do it all the time, I felt like they legitimately cared.  I miss my cat so very much but I know they will continue to care for my other kitty with just as much love. My family has brought all of our animals to the Miller Animal Hospital for as long as I can remember. I just moved out of the area, to California, and will miss all of the doctors and staff at MAH tremendously. In my search for a new veterinarian on the west coast I have read a lot of reviews by people who have felt pressured or guilted into services by veterinarian offices and received terrible service. I was shocked and saddened. I realize how important it is to have good references, so I hope to be able to provide some level of comfort to people new to the Troy area who may be looking for the perfect veterinarian to take care of their loved ones. For the past 20 years Dr. Brower and the rest of the staff at MAH have taken care of my cat, Daisy. In addition to the usual cat issues she has been through a torn knee ligament and breast cancer. Never once have I felt pressured to do one thing or another for her. I have always received solid, sound advice and options from the doctors, and I have always been completely comfortable with my decisions. For the torn knee ligament I decided against surgery and opted for a regiment of glucosamine and chondroitin. That worked, and after a few weeks she was up and running like before. For the breast cancer I decided against the chemo (after taking her to an oncologist) and I went with a lumpectomy on two separate occasions. The surgeries both went wonderfully without complication. Before each surgery we had in depth conversations about her age, condition, blood work, and possible consequences of each option (surgery or no surgery). My cat recovered very well from each surgery. I knew that her most recent surgery would be her last, as she was aging so, but that was a few years ago and she's still sitting right next to me, begging for some of my turkey sandwich!I have never regretted any decision I made... well, at least with regard to caring for my cat! I will truly miss Dr. Brower and the rest of the doctors and staff at Miller Animal Hospital. They truly are animal people; they know your pets are part of your family and give them the love and care you need them to. I hope that the office I found in CA can simply come NEAR the level of knowledge, compassion and service that Miller Animal Hospital provided. My husband and I are so happy that we found this amazing animal hospital in Troy, NY. I usually do not sign up and write a review, but I had to write a review for Miller Animal Hospital for their excellent care. The office stuff and doctor were very nice to our dog and very compassionate. Most importantly, they have excellent veterinary medicine knowledge. Thorough history taking, physical exam, minimal tests (only necessary ones), differential diagnosis, and treatment plans with alternative plans. Compared to a vet we went previously (more focused on business), I will call this place a real vet! I am also a health care provider, and I feel like I found a right doctor. Yelp did not post my previous review. I ask Yelp to post this review for Miller Animal Hospital because I am really pleased with their care for my dog, and like I said before, I do not write a review unless it is extremely good (or bad). This is the best vet I've ever been to.  I'm new to the area, and when my cat started acting strangely, I wasn't sure where to go.  I picked Miller Animal Hospital because it was close and a few different websites had given it good ratings, but I wasn't sure what to expect.  My cat had some tooth problems, so I have had to go back a few times.  I've been immensely pleased every time, and from the happiness I see on the faces of the other customers, I think that's the general reaction of most people.It's clean and bright inside, and all of the staff is very friendly on the phone and in person, and Dr. Kimmel is the biggest sweetheart in the entire world.  My cat is notoriously unfriendly, but apparently she has yet to bite or scratch the good doctor, which I find just shy of unbelievable.  I cannot recommend this place enough.  They're flexible, helpful, patient, and most of all - really good at what they do. My father has been coming to Miller Vet for years and I have been going elsewhere for as long. The other day however I needed someone closer to his place and at the last minute, so I decided to try Miller Vet. It's a small and simple building and felt I guess "homey". Seemed the kind of place where people have been going for years and everyone knows everyone. I liked that. And having had many animals over the year, I know they like that too. It's not overwhelming and doesn't frighten them.Having been to Capital District Animal Emergency Clinic the night before and having not such a great experience I was happy to have my little pup here. We saw Dr. Naef, who was very gentle and friendly with Danube(my puppy's name) and had much more personality then the previous Dr. at CDAEC. Danube had a pretty scary accident the night before when he climbed up on and fell into a mop bucket full of hot water and cleaning stuff and was very shaken up, and Dr. Naef made him comfortable as could be. Considering when I brought him there he had a catheter in his arm and had most likely been up all night in the emergency clinic, he needed that.When I picked him up he was well fed, rested and ready to go :)As far as billing/prices go, I would say this office is very reasonable. Vet's are never cheap, but this place isn't bad. Plus, my dad's been coming for years and that man can make a dollar stretch like no other, so that says something.Pretty sure Danube will be sticking with Miller Vet Hospital for the rest of his time with me(he's a foster pup) and staying away from mop buckets for the rest of his days.PS~ in case you're wondering Danube is doing great! He has some blistering, but his personality is unscathed and he's still as sweet and playful as ever :) Read Less
