I truly hope not only other clients see this post, but management as well. Let me start off by saying that I have 2 dogs, both have been going to this animal hospital since 2017. My oldest dog is due for a teeth cleaning, so I schedule the appt. with my preferred vet 3+ months out. (oct. 2022) From what I am being told the client should and will receive a quote before the actual surgery date. Fine, no problem. As of today, Feb. 10, I received a teeth cleaning quote for approximately $1800. I immediately call to clarify, naturally anybody else would right? I've only waited 4 months to receive this quote, no big deal. Not to mention I was just there 9 days ago, Feb. 1 for a minor checkup, another $250 just to be seen, pre-blood work for surgery, whatever fine I get it. Not only did another veterinarian generate this quote THREE DAYS before the scheduled surgery, this veterinarian (who just so happens to be the owner) notated another procedure on the quote that both myself and my preferred veterinarian decided not to be a big deal and simply leave it alone. The front desk associate, I kid you not, says this: "So what is the most amount you can pay?" ..... Excuse me what? What kind of business are we running around here? I get it- Animal hospitals aren't free, this is a for-profit business. They like any other business have bills & wages to pay, completely understand. Obviously I tell them I'm not willing to pay that amount, my dog clearly isn't in pain, and just flat out doesn't need to be up-charged to be quite honest. Here is the best part: I get a phone call back a few minutes later.... They cancelled my appointment. Really? So since I don't want to pay your "high-end" quote estimate, you cancel me to move onto the next willing and able buyer? I'm in car sales, so honestly I find this hilarious, and quite embarrassing. The ONLY reason why I kept coming here for so long is the care my preferred veterinarian provides. She and one other veterinarian are Cornell Graduates. Look around and see surrounding Animal hospitals that have Cornell graduates, you won't find any. THAT is the only reason why I continue to bring my dogs here, obviously not anymore. Rant over, full blown Karen-mode here. And no, I don't care. The lack of customer service isn't just shady, but truly embarrassing. Read Less

Chrissy Wade Roach- I can’t believe I have to share this, but to spare another family, I am. Do not put your pet’s care in the hands of Walworth Animal Hospital. In an effort to understand how a young, healthy dog could die, John Roach started asking questions. How could a digestive blockage be missed on the x-ray that Scout had on Monday night? On Monday night, I was told by the attending vet that she could see no blockage. Scout’s digestive lining looked sensitive and like she ate something she shouldn’t have, but it had passed through. If she didn’t get better, we were to return. It could also be a virus. For now, just give her a bland diet, which was also listed on the discharge paperwork. No urgency. Nothing critical. Go home. She started to improve on Tuesday but then regressed on Tuesday night after hours. Because we thought we were dealing with a virus, we scheduled an appointment for Wednesday after work, but when I got home to take her, she was barely breathing and couldn’t move, except to wag her tail at my desperate greeting. My neighbor helped me get her in the car, and I tried to will her to stay with me on the drive. I was not successful. We asked how this escalated so quickly. We thought it was a virus. We didn’t know how bad off she was. While we said our tearful good-byes, the attending doctor from Monday said, “Well, we told you there was a blockage.” No. No, you didn’t. But we were too upset to push it then, and we left to break the news to two heart-broken boys. With the emotional whirlwind settling, John asked for more details. After some back and forth, the latest accusation is that the attending vet told me on Monday that there was a blockage and advised me to take her to the emergency vet immediately, but I wouldn’t because of the cost. They are just making things up. I’m shocked, disheartened, and angry. How can they do this? How is this even real? Apparently, the notes on the file now indicate that this was told to me. 😳 I wanted to move forward. I wasn’t looking for a fight. We just wanted to understand what happened so that we don’t live this again. If we’d gone to the emergency vet on Monday, we may not have had a different outcome. We could still be here. But I wouldn’t be managing the grief of finding my girl nearly dead, while also being accused of being a negligent dog mom. They’re lying. They’re covering up for a mistake they made. And I just can’t believe it. If you are trusting them, don’t. Find a new vet now. Read Less

The Doctors here are pretty good, but the real reason for the low rating is the way the front desk is run.  It is normal here to finish with your appt and then have to wait 10 min or more for the person behind the desk to check you out.  Not that they are under-staffed, as there is usually 3 people there, they just do not care that you are waiting, often with your dog or cat in tow.  When we first changed to this office, it was the thing nearly everyone told us to expect, so this is not an isolated case.  In conclusion, the Doctors here are fine, but the office help is absolutely horrible. This is quite possibly the best veterinary practice in Wayne County. I've lived in several different states and I've been to countless veterinary clinics over the years and Walworth Animal Hospital is second to none. You know when you've discovered an excellent veterinary practice when they come highly recommended by OTHER vets. From the front desk to the medical area in the back the entire staff I've interacted with have been wonderful. Dr. Campbell and the people she's surrounded herself with are everything you would want and expect from the very best in quality care for your four legged family members. I credit Dr. Campbell and her staff for bringing a better quality of life to two of my kiddos and practically reversing kidney disease in one of my cats. Dr. Campbell was even so kind as to credit me for this surprising and incredible change in my best friends condition.... "Humility, that low, sweet root, from which all heavenly virtues shoot." We've been coming to the Walworth Animal Hopsital for a little while now after our previous vet was suggesting ONLY surgical intervention for our dogs torn ACL when we first wanted to try some medicinal options before we committed to a over $1500 surgery that may not work. Dr. Miller was patient with our Rottweiler Pit mix, Dizzy, and immediately helped us start her on glucosamine and limiting her activity. It healed itself Fast forward a year or so and I brought my parents dog Tyler in for a last minute emergency visit. His health was declining, he wasn't eating. I kept telling myself maybe he's just not feeling well... he will get better. Unfortunately February last year when we saw Dr.Miller for this unscheduled emergency visit she palpated Tyler and felt multiple tumors and was pretty sure his kidneys were failing. I had to call my parents in Florida on vacation and do one of the hardest things I've ever done, sit next to him and love him up while he was put to sleep. The staff took my three year old son who came with me(I'm a stay at home mom) and colored and played games with him while I stayed by the dogs side. They helped me coordinate with the funeral home to have my parents dog cremated and promised me someone would sit with Tyler until the came to pick him up from the funeral home. Fast forward to this week. My husband brought home a stray cat from work who was underweight, had matted fur & was in desperate need for love. They cut his nails...trimmed the matted fur..and vaccinated this new kitty. They were kind and answered all my questions, and brought my son coloring pages and stickers while I talked to the vet. I couldn't be more pleased with the care and compassion from the staff at the Walworth Animal Hospital. Thank you for everything you've done for our animalsRead Less

Unbelievable compassionate pet care! Our 17yr old cat, Cloe, was not a patient of Walworth when we realized on a Saturday morning that it was time to say goodbye. She had been to our regular vet earlier in the week but her condition deteriorated rapidly by the weekend. Knowing our regular vet was closed and not having the heart to take her to the emergency vet in the city, full of strangers and so busy you're just a number, we called around to local vets to see if we could get her in somewhere she/we would be more comfortable. A couple of offices turned us away, but Walworth promised to accommodate us. They had us come in at the end of their hours when most of their patients had left so it was more quiet, and let us have as much time as we needed with our girl after hours with no feeling of being rushed so they could close up shop. All of the staff were exceptional, from the receptionist who calmed us over the phone and promised to help us deal with a difficult decision, to the incredibly compassionate Dr Hines, who lovingly stroked our precious pet and offered us kind words of comfort. He really treated her like she was his own pet, and us as life long clients, even though we had never been in that office before. We can not express how grateful we are to Dr Hines and the wonderful staff at Walworth Animal Hospital, and how content we are that we were able to bring our Cloe there to spend our last moments with her. It was a fortunate outcome for us, giving us the opportunity to say goodbye to our best friend with compassion and dignity and love. We are certain that when we accept a new kitty into our lives, we will be changing offices and bringing him/her to Walworth for the very best care, with true compassion, available.Read Less

The vets and techs here are caring, thoughtful, skilled, and work well with me on making decisions that work for me and for my pets. When we had to put our sweet Lab, Jake, down several years ago, Dr. Campbell worked with us to create a safe and comfortable space for the procedure outside by the pond because he always got so traumatized going into the office. We didn't want that to be how he spent his last moments, and for that I will be forever grateful.

I trust these vets and even though we've moved away from Walworth, it's definitely worth the trip to work with people I feel confident in! Thank you all very much for the work you do. Read Less

My dog was sick and, after taking her there, they said they'd have to put her down at the end of the week. While she had been in poor health, she suffered a massive decline following the visit and I was forced to watch as Walworth Animal Hospital killed my dog. This was compounded by the fact that I was going through chemo at the time and needed the loving and supportive environment that my dog helped create. I don't know what they did, but the vets here are abominable killers. Read Less
