I had an incredible experience from the second I walked in the door, to the second I walked out. It's very hard to find an affordable vet who actually cares. My kitten had a life threatening condition that no one was able to diagnose but the vet gave me the best and the realest advice. I really appreciate vets who don't sugar coat things. I found The Cat Doctor on Yelp and decided to check it out after reading the reviews. I was looking for a place to board my cat for a few days. Before boarding, I set up a time for a check up for her and a tour of the boarding facilities. The customer service personnel present were nice and accommodating, offering coffee while we waited. Dr. Penyy and Sean were great with Mittens. They were gentle and told me what they were observing as they checked her out. The examination was thorough and allowed an opportunity for me to ask questions as well. After the exam, I was able to check out the various types of "rooms" available such as the double wide cage, the condos, and the private rooms. Seeing the cats that were already there made me feel comfortable with the treatment they were receiving. The center and cages were clean. In the end, I decided to board her there.Mittens stayed for 5 days. I received a few pictures and a video which made me feel at ease since this was our first boarding experience. Dr. Penyy, Sean and the rest of the staff here are extremely wonderful and treated my cat with such care and gentleness. When my sister and I first brought our Joey (a rescue cat that adopted us) to Dr. Penyy about a year ago, the poor thing had ear mites. (UGH!) But he was cured in about a week with proper medicine and treatments.We just came back from Joey's annual physical and he's doing fine, although he does continue to have minor ear issues--this time waxy build-up from a minor infection. Once again, some ear drop medication (which Joey, obviously didn't like!) and a gentle cleaning and he's back up to snuff!Thanks, Dr. Penyy and Sean (especially for getting splattered with all the gunk that Joey flung out of his ears!) and the rest of the staff! This review is long overdue but Dr Pennyy is the best. She is kind and caring with my cats, they and I never feel uncomfortable. I would never go to anyone other than her and have sent multiple people to her who have also loved her. The technician who normally works with her is a very nice gentleman who is also great with cats. We have been taking our beloved cats here for ages and have had only wonderful experiences. The vets and staff are caring, informative, friendly and helpful. Our 12-year-old Persian recently spent three days there, going in with a high fever and marked lethargy/refusal to eat. She is now back with us, fever long since broken, eating everything in sight, and meowing and prowling about like a kitten. It is a *great* veterinary practice. Read Less

Let me start by saying If you own a Cat, This is the place for you.  You NEED to Consider how stressful just being in an ordinary Vet lobby can be for your poor feline (Dogs barking, growling, on long leashes with their owners not respecting my cats space, not to mention the other animals). Not only is this probably the only "ALL FELINE PATIENT" Veterinarian, They Specialize in Cats and for them, it's about the well being of your pet, and not the money. The entire Staff has treated my partner and I like part of their FAMILY!, They have helped us in our most desperate moment. During Memorial Day Weekend Dr. Bregman, Dr. Sturtz, and the entire staff from reception to assisting have gone ABOVE and BEYOND and it is because of them I know my 2 cats are alive and well. Truly no words to describe what our hearts feel for the Quality of care, Connection to our pets needs and assessed what was right for them to get well. As a matter of Importance and what really made the difference, In a panic, when my second cat showed symptoms on Monday (Memorial Day) the day after the first cat did.  We Emailed Dr. Sturtz. It was incredible, I found out a few days later that My Email went to a call center, It was Immediately forward to Dr. Bregman. In Turn, Dr. Bregman called Dr. Sturts (Who was away at a conference) She called me Immediately and Saved Both our pets lives. She told me Immediately to take both pets to a Very Advanced 24 hour Pet Hospital (THIS IS WHERE I Know What It is to have the BEST CARE EVER!!! - Keep Reading) Because she had treated my Olliver the prior day, She called the Emergency Clinic and gave them a profile of Olliver and what she had done. Rushing Olliver and Max to the Emergency Clinic, armed with what Dr. Sturtz had done for Olliver, they were able to provide both of them with a new medication (Thank You So much, Dr. Strutz). Within 24 hours, both cats were coming around. Within 48 hours both cats were eating and I brought them in to See Dr. Bregman for an evaluation. The comfort I felt from him, and the staff, they all knew what we were going through. What an amazing experience! No, we do not want to relive that again, But Imagine the comfort of knowing we have the best Vertinarian Clinic. Dr. Sturtz Is so Amazing and caring I can't wait to Hug her, I found out on that day I brought them in to be examined that Dr. Bregman had done so much behind the scenes, I had to hug him too. This vet is absolutely fabulous: Positive, knowledgeable, professional and so sweet. She has helped my cat, Precious, through tooth and gum issues related to herpes, (acquired in a feral colony) with so much expertise and kindness!  She will not suggest anything for the sole purpose of financial gain: It is all about the needs of the cat. Dr. Penny is very skilled and her confidence makes me feel like we can get through anything. Amazing place! My cat was terrified because she is never outside or in a carrier. The staff was very friendly and kept up conversations in between her work. The house cat Ashley was extremely entertaining to watch and very cute. When we got in the room I was nervous my cat would bolt or scratch but the vet and tech were so gentle and extremely knowledgeable they put her at ease. They were even able to clip her nails. I used a Groupon and it was well worth it I'll be coming here from now on. Brought my cat here back in May. The staff was extremely kind! The place is very quiet and there is even coffee in the waiting room for the humans! My cat was VERY angry during the examination (because she truly was not feeling well) even though she never is but the doctor and vet tech were still very gentle and put up with her extremely well. We were at a loss when it came time for our family's camping trip this year. We somewhat recently adopted the latest addition to our family. Our sweet Fiona. Several people told us she would be fine by herself for a couple days. I couldn't handle leaving her alone. So I went on a search for someplace to board our girl. I remembered speaking with Dr. Penyy in Petco a couple weeks ago. So I emailed her office. Vanessa and Cristina were wonderful and so polite. The next day we went in to see what The Cat Doctor was all about. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Sean gave us a complete tour of the office and all accommodations available for Fiona. He was fantastic and answers all questions from my 9 year boys who were very concerned. There were several options and he helped us make the right decision for Fiona's needs. Fiona had a quick check up with Dr. Penyy who recognized us from the pet store right away. The entire staff made us and Fiona feel right at home and I was even able to get updates on Fiona through email while we were away. Love, love, love The Cat Doctor! This my first Cat Doctor visit. My kitty was being really good on our way because I kept talking to him and reassuring him in the car but when we got there, he seemed really scared.  The vet coaxed him out of carrier with 4 choices of treats, they were so gentle and loving and affectionate I couldn't believe it. (Honestly, I didn't get half the love from my ER nurse and doctor.)  He needed blood work, shots and usual check up. They were so loving you would think it was their pet. They explained everything as they were doing it and were extremely knowledgeable. Also, they didn't advise you get unnecessary  treatment or shots.  Not only did they offer him treats, but the staff while you wait were pretty swell too. They had some treats for the owners too, ie coffee, home-baked cookies, chocolates....there is nowhere else I would go to for my kitty's care. Read Less

Dr. Penyy is WONDERFUL!!!   I've been using Dr. Kollins, one of the owners of the multi-facility practice (he's a GEM!) since 2006.  Dr. Kollins was not reachable when one of my cats was sick, so I requested a call back from Dr. Penyy whose specialty is cats but had never seen my cat before.  Dr. Penyy not only called me back in a timely manner on two different occasions (same illness) but she took the time to review my cat's medical records from my recent visit with Dr. Kollins before she called me back and was so thorough in her explanations and suggestions; she spent a lot of time on the phone with me on both occasions and did not seem to rush me off the phone.  She really seemed to be very knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to help me.  Yesterday, I could not get an appointment with Dr. Kollins, but I was able to have my cat seen by Dr. Penyy at The Cat Doctor.  I was very confident that Dr. Penyy would provide the same great care that I have become accustomed to with Dr. Kollins.  And she did!!!  She did a thorough examination of the issues my cat is having, and again provided in-depth explanations to me (as Dr. Kollins always has done!). She gave me some suggestions and told me what my options are for further diagnostics.  The vet assistant (I do not recall his name) also was VERY CARING....He was petting and soothing my cat the entire time Dr. Penyy was examining him and performing a procedure on his eyes.  The receptionist, Vanessa, is also teriffic; she's very efficient and appears to be very knowledgeable.  I called this morning with some concerns about my cat's behavior, etc. and Vanessa comforted me. Last Monday was my first visit to The Cat Doctor to have my cat seen by Dr. Kollins who was at that facility for a few hours that day, and he was assisted by another Vet, Dr. Rosenbloom, who also seemed very knowledgeable, caring, and concerned.  I had to leave my cat for a few hours so they could try to get urine from him to do a urinalysis; in the interim, Dr. Kollins had left, so my cat was in the care of Dr. Rosenbloom, who also explained everything to me in a very thorough, caring manner. They are very honest and will not suggest or peform unnecessary procedures just to make a buck!  The facility is very nice, and it is immaculate!  I cannot say enough great things about The Cat Doctor and the staff.  I've had cats for 27 years, and I've been to quite a few vets before I started using Dr. Kollins, and I can honestly say that Dr. Kollins and his staff at The Cat Doctor are above and beyond any Vet facility that I have ever been to!  I highly recommend The Cat Doctor; it is a great alternative for cats because it is less stressful for cats without having dogs around, and the Vets are great! This past month, my family and I took our elderly cat to be euthanized at the Cat Hospital. I regret to say that I was horribly shocked at the lack of attention to the distress of my cat during the process. We waited an extended period of time to be seen by the vet (in excess of 30 minutes in the waiting room well beyond our scheduled appointment time) and then waited an additional 15-20 minutes for the vet and assistant to prepare the room and review our cat's records. Let it be known that the office was more concerned with leisurely addressing the concerns of another customer who did not even have her animal present with her, than seeing our cat for her final SCHEDULED euthanasia. As we had scheduled an appointment for a euthanasia, I expected the vet to have reviewed our cat's records well in-advance, instead of last minute, dragging on the total wait time to 40 minutes before an even more stressful euthanasia procedure.As my cat was in severe distress this entire unnecessary waiting period, I asked the vet to administer some sort of sedative before administering the euthanasia. The vet did NOT administer the sedative. Instead, she instructed the assistant to forcibly hold my cat down on her side, causing even greater distress to my animal in her last moments of life. The dosage of drugs used for the procedure was administered to the hind leg instead the front leg, and my animal appeared to be in extreme pain and distress as she was uncontrollably crying at (1) the injection itself; and (2) the trauma of being forcibly held down after an extended period of time (totaling over 40 minutes) waiting for her inglorious end.Having euthanized another cat a year before and also researching the typical euthanasia process, I know that this procedure did not need to be this horrifying for my animal. Unfortunately, my cat's last moment's of life were spent in fear and pain. The process could not have gone more horribly nor been any more traumatic for my cat and my family. I strongly urge you to consider seeing a different vet for a euthanasia procedure. Read Less

After spending over $2000 and seeing 2 vets, I was feeling as though there was no hope for my sick cat. My friend recommended Dr. Bregman and I made an appointment ASAP, was the best decision I made. After meeting with him, he knew what was wrong, gave her some medicine, and within 2 weeks was feeling 100%. I was amazed at how knowledgeable they are with cats, and that the other vets I had seen previously just kept doing test after test, and couldn't help her. My six month old kitten Buddy had surgery preformed by Dr, Eric Bregman. I was extremely hesitant to have the surgery preformed but as soon as I walked into the Cat Hospital in Williston Park I felt at ease. Dr. Bregamn explained step by step how the surgery was preformed and answered all questions I had honestly. Buddy stayed at the hospital for four days so they could monitor his pain and make sure he was comfortable. All the staff at the cat hospital made not only made Buddys experience enjoyable but made me feel comfortable allowing them to take care of my furry little friend.
