Dr. Frank and Dr. Mignone treated my dogs for 20 years and they couldn't have been in better hands. They go beyond the call of duty to make sure your pets are well taken care of. Once, Dr. Franz actually came to my house to catch a bat that my dog was "playing " with to capture it and have it tested for rabies. I can't say how much I miss them now that I have moved to CA. It's hard to find the dedication that you find at Woodbury Animal Hospital. The staff is always kind and professional and I had developed relationships with many of them over the years. They actually follow up on your pet and call to see how they're doing. I assumed this was common practice until I moved and had to find another vet. None of them have called to check on my newly adopted shelter dog who almost died of pneumonia! They quickly diagnosed my Dachshund when she had a hairball in her stomach and my other Dachshund when she had a back problem that needed emergency surgery. She walks perfectly today due to their quick attention. I highly recommend this practice....their professionalism, knowledge and caring manner are evident in all they do.

Wouldn't listen & every time I asked questions about what he was saying - he'd just turn his back and leave the room IN THE MIDDLE OF ME TALKING and then sent the tech in to talk to me. I thought maybe he was autistic. He was writing things on a whiteboard and it was all stuff I already knew since I was there for a second opinion and another set of eyes and things I already told him the other vet said. I had some questions about what I'd read on some online forums and things I saw after spending days researching certain issues online but he was too arrogant to discuss anything I found and kept dismissing things. They also said they do ultrasounds in the office. Lie. They apparently only schedule them weekly or every two weeks and it seemed like they needed someone else to read them. I brought my cat in for an ultrasound and they said oh I didn't tell them I was doing it and they didn't have time because it takes a long time. Meanwhile there was nobody else there. I specifically told them I already had Xrays and was coming there because I didn't like the way the vet hospitals operated and didn't want my cat handled by so many people and left there so they knew I wanted it done there. The cat deteriorated and I wound up having to go somewhere else but it was too late by then and she died. Plus they charged me like $28 for a tube of over the counter nutrical which you can get online for $8. I can only imagine what they charge for prescription meds.

Can't say enough good things about the staff here and how much they care about our family and our extended family (our pets). They treat you and your animal companions like gold and I would be hard pressed to find a better place to bring my animals too. Would give them 10 stars if I could.

Absolute Best Vets on LI!
Dr. Marc Franz was one of the main coordinators of the 9/11 canine search and rescue efforts. He won numerous awards for his generosity and support during that dark time. He and the other veterinarian in the office, Dr. Jennifer Mignone, are truly dedicated to the health and welfare of each and every animal that is brought into their office.
These doctors are to the point, but will lay out all possible treatments that are available. They explain exactly what they see is going on, give you the treatment choices but they will also let you know if they don't feel something is needed at that time. The cost is as expensive as all vets on L.I. The difference is that they don't run uneeded tests.
If they feel a specialist is required for something severe, they will help make the arrangements for the appointment and contact the doctor in advance for you.
The assistants are also a 10 out of 10. They are patient and understanding, and are as kind to your pet as if it were theirs. When my dog had problems taking pills for a Rx she needed, they found a place in another state that made the Rx in liquid form and set it up for me.
You couldn't ask for more.

I have never seen such compassion by the doctors or staff. We travel all the way from island park and would not switch to a closer practice. Both Dr Franz and Doctor Mignone are amazing. As my dog is now a senior they both get on the floor with her. To show how they go the extra mile my dog is currently hospitalized and last night the doctor texted me a video of my dog. I attribute them with saving her life. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Dr Franz is awesome. He's a great practitioner, and it is obvious how much he cares for the animals he looks after. Clean, bright, spacious office, and a superb and caring staff. I've been a 'patient' for 17 years now. Wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

Dr. Frank and Dr. Mignone treated my dogs for 20 years and they couldn't have been in better hands. They go beyond the call of duty to make sure your pets are well taken care of. Once, Dr. Franz actually came to my house to catch a bat that my dog was "playing " with to capture it and have it tested for rabies. I can't say how much I miss them now that I have moved to CA. It's hard to find the dedication that you find at Woodbury Animal Hospital. The staff is always kind and professional and I had developed relationships with many of them over the years. They actually follow up on your pet and call to see how they're doing. I assumed this was common practice until I moved and had to find another vet. I have never seen such compassion by the doctors or staff. We travel all the way from island park and would not switch to a closer practice. Both Dr Franz and Doctor Mignone are amazing. As my dog is now a senior they both get on the floor with her. To show how they go the extra mile my dog is currently hospitalized and last night the doctor texted me a video of my dog. I attribute them with saving her life. I cannot say enough good things about them.
