I was nervous about bringing my cat here after reading the lukewarm reviews. But:a) kitty was suddenly not doing too well,b) nearby Woodside Pet Hospital had their "we're closed" voicemail up during open hours, andc) browsing online forums late the previous night convinced me that if I waited, I'd find my beloved feline dead behind the futon, purely out of cosmic spite. Also - it's an indicator of care/effort when businesses take the time to respond to negative Yelp reviews in a fair way (which you can see on this page). They've been in Woodside as long as I can remember. The office is small and not fancy - only one vet in at a time (they have 3), and only one exam room. Everyone is kind and professional. Dr. Bebawy was straightforward but patient. Dr. Lara clearly felt strongly about what was best for the pets and explained everything she saw with conviction and tact. Kelly, the nurse/technician/assistant (?), not only handled my distressed cat with grace, but was also helpful rather than guilt-trippy when I asked whether there was any leeway in a quote. Maribel, the receptionist, was totally sympathetic and offered to work around my needs to make an appointment. There's a Groupon deal floating around and also some special on their website. Otherwise, for reference, these were their prices:Physical exam: $39IV fluids: $50Blood testing: $195Medical waste fee: $5Urinalysis: $75X-rays: $95 per shot(I could get into the prices for euthanizing, too, but that's too grim for this page.)Prices seemed not outrageous for a vet, though obviously still not cheap compared to, you know, having a healthy pet who doesn't need medical attention. I'm wary of being taken advantage of, and it didn't seem this was Queens Animal Hospital's interest. They even informed me over the phone the first time that I should make an appointment, since walk-ins get charged an extra fee.Just a few things:1. I was quoted for 3 x-ray views ($285) by Dr. Bebawy (and held off on it), and 2 views ($190) by Dr. Lara.2. A physical exam by Dr. Bebawy one day led to bloodwork and x-rays, needed to "diagnose anything for sure." But a physical exam the next day by Dr. Lara revealed to her an obvious, conclusive, major issue that was somehow missed by the other vet. 3. The vets seem to have conflicting opinions not infrequently. I doubt veterinary practice is much more of a subjective field than human medicine, so this is a little alarming. I trusted Dr. Lara's judgement.Having a sick pet is total, utter shit. And, non-spoiler alert: I ended up having to put my poor Henry to sleep (forgot to mention that they dealt with me standing in their office in tears twice in a row). But Queens Animal Hospital let me know what was going on all throughout my short acquaintance with them, what the options were before I committed to anything, and were never pushy at all. Would recommend as a vet's office. Read Less
