On Sunday, May 1 2016, my shorthaired Tabby cat, Hyper was completely misdiagnosed at Animal Specialty Center. My husband brought the cat in about 7am that morning. Our cat was treated for blockage at ASC after not being able to urinate for 2 days. He was then sent home with two meds after a full day on a catheter.
My husband and I were relieved at first when the cat returned home from ASC. However, we later realized there was NO change. Our cat was still unable to urinate. The cat also refused to eat food or drink water after a Dr. Hembold administered an "unblocking" procedure to flush out bloody urine.
We decided to see Bronx Vet in our area on Tuesday, May 3rd after noticing our cats condition getting worse.
After X-rays taken upon our entry at the Bronx Vet facility, it was quickly determined that unblocking our cat would not help. The x-rays showed stones lodged in my cats urethra and other parts of his body, which were causing blockage. The doctor said these stones could only be removed with special surgery.
The blood tests also taken with Bronx Vets showed very clearly my cat was suffering from all types of blood & kidney abnormalities, which were diagnosed as terminal.
After realizing how bad this situation was, we were forced to make the hard decision of euthenization.
My husband I were devastated with the loss of our beloved cat. In addition, we were in total disbelief that we had received such a huge MISDIAGNOSIS from ASC. ITS NOW OBVIOUS, THAT OUR CAT WAS NEVER THOROUGHLY EXAMINED AT ANIMAL SPECIALTY CENTER.
WITHOUT PROPER EXAMINATION OR KNOWLEDGE OF MY CATS CONDITION, ASC PROCEEDED TO TREAT MY CAT WITH A PROCEDURE THAT WAS TOTALLY POINTLESS AND INEFFECTIVE FOR HIS CONDITION ON MAY 1st.
After paying over $142 for in initial fees, shouldnt the vets first course of action be a thorough EXAM?
THIS OBVIOUSLY DID NOT HAPPEN IN OUR CASE AND WE ARE NOW DEMANDING A FULL REFUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $650 FOR THIS TERRIBLE MISDIAGNOSIS AND MALPRACTICE! Read Less
