We have been going to York Animal Hospital for 7 years. Today, was one of the best visits ever with Dr. Dan. Our dog has never had such a thorough exam until today. We left with a handful of medications, new food for a food trial, and a large bill, but we finally have some explanation and answers, and that is exactly what we have been looking for. Hands down the best vet around. They go above and beyond in every aspect of their job! I drove 40 minutes from the city of Rochester to get my dog Emmett in for an emergency visit because he had slipped a disc in his back and couldn't walk on his hind legs whatsoever. Out of the 10 vets offices I called the York Animal Hospital was the only vet office that could get him in. All the other places I called didn't care that it was an emergency, let alone ask what was going on. Bu...t the ladies at the front desk took the time to ask the questions and get me in regardless of the fact that they had no open appointments. When I arrived I got in within 15 minutes and even though Dr Morgan had plenty of other pets to see she took time to comfort Emmett, who was in so much pain, and sit and explain to me what had happened and all the options I had. Sam the vet assistant there was amazing she comforted me when I was balling my eyes out in the office, scared and upset that I couldn't do anything for my furry child. I left there so unsure of what was going to happen but within a weeks time my pooch was back to his normal self, all thanks to the lovely people at this vet office. I have to say even after we left Sam called every couple of days the first week to check up on Emmett, and after that first week they still continued to call once a week to check up on my little guy! All in all I'm so happy with this office and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone currently looking for a vets office! Best place to take your animals by far. I've had bad experiences at other animal hospitals. The staff is beyond friendly, caring , answer all questions in details, and able to get you in for an emergency. My white boxer has a lot of health issues and is allergic to everything. Her first reaction I called ten minutes before they closed and they stayed to check her out. I recommend York to everyone !!!! Read Less

This place is the best around. My cat had an emergency on New Years Day evening. They took him the next morning as a new patient. Dr. Dan took one look at him and rearranged his schedule that day so Hudson could get the surgery he needed instead of waiting 2 days. I am so thankful to their entire team for the excellent care Hudson received, even if he wasn't the ideal guest. They are my new vets and I recommend them for anyone looking for the best in pet care. To all my friends in the Rochester area, if you are in need of an excellent animal Doctor, or may not be happy with yours, this is the best team of doctors that you will ever need in the Rochester area. Although a little south of Caledonia NY, it is worth the trip. Always a nice ride in the countryside, these guys will take great care of your small animals. I have been testing medical equipment all over NY and determined that this office has the most updated EQUIPMENT and is in perfect working order. It is by far the cleanest, and the people, from the reception desk to the nursing staff are fabulous. Highly recommended by the Graham family of Orchard Park NY (we make the 59 mile trip one way). Dr. Dan, Dr. Morgan and staff proved once again that they are the top in their profession. I recently had one of my pups in with a variety of symptoms, none pointing to anything conclusive. They persevered and worked with me compassionately but decisively. With some minor post-surgery challenges, every single person that we came in contact with was professional, patient and above all else, kind.
