I was not instructed to bring proof of vaccines with me, so I had to give my dog an unnecessary rabies vaccine. However, other than this misunderstanding, the staff was exceptional. I was offered a later appointment if I needed time to bring proof. The entire staff was exceedingly kind and compassionate. Having a fear aggressive dog makes vet visits a nightmare, but they were very accommodating and understanding. I’m giving Banfield a 2 star because my mother has took her dog to these guys for 4 years and has had a great experience. So I got a new puppy and he was up for his second round of shots so I went in two weeks early to schedule his appointment for March 21 at 10:30 a.m. I took off work to take him in at this time and I show up at 10:30 and am informed that they do not have an appointment for him and I’d have to wait another week ( instead of working him in make me wait another week). So therefore I will be taking my puppy to Yadkin Animal Hospital. I highly recommended them! Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Banfield for over 10 years and have their pet health insurance. I called the other day about them seeing my dog because of health issues and was told that they wouldn't see my dog that I should take her to the emergency clinic. What is the purpose of paying for the health insurance and being loyal then when you actually have an issue they want you to go somewhere else. If I had the money to just go to an emergency clinic I wouldn't have been paying the insurance to start with. Seems that they are all about the money and not about the health of the pets anymore. Last visit with them was a comprehensive exam and vaccinations for 2 dogs. Was in and out in less then 10 minutes. How comprehensive can 2 exams be when you do 2 dogs in that amount of time. Buddy woke up this morning with a red nasty oozing ear. The staff was very helpful in fitting him in a slot a couple hours later despite their packed schedule. Even after I left my rabies paperwork at home they gave me options: to get one on the spot or get the paperwork. I opted to drive home and I only waited a couple minutes. The tech (I think her name was Cat) was very sweet and went right to work getting ear swabs. Within an hour I was able to get the results and the medications I needed to treat Buddy's ear. I have only been to VCA with my dog in Texas and learned that there isn't one in the area close by. Because we move around a lot I decided to try Banfield knowing that almost every metro area has a Petsmart. I came into the Vet a little skeptical but hopeful at most. My dog needed his shots up to date and because he is a trail dog he received a few extra vaccines on top of the standard.Our overall experience was pretty great! I took one star because of the way one of the techs were holding him during his vaccination. I understand precautions but he was obviously uncomfortable when she came from behind him and held him without really soothing him first. After they realized he wasn't aggressive she didn't come back for the second round of vaccines. Dr. Kelly M was amazing and I will continue coming back to Banfield so long as she is working there. In the face of dealing with a dog that is sick, if I carry a dog to you and you charge me THAT MUCH, please help me when you have me carry my dog back to the car at the end of the day. My boyfriend and I were visiting family when our dog started having a full seizure. Turns out he got into some garbage and ate old food, plastic, and who knows what else. We brought him to the clinic and they took us right away. For 2.5 hours someone sat with him while he continued to seize. When they finally got the seizures to become less frequent (and after taking care of all their appointments :)), Dr. Grey rode with us in our car to the overnight clinic with medicine in case the seizures started again. A coworker followed us there to bring Dr. Grey back to Banfield- a selfless and genuinely caring gesture and she was more than happy to do it.This staff went above and beyond to help save our dog. We really love this vet. Appointment scheduling is very flexible. Prices are reasonable. We use their Wellness Plans that are well worth the money especially on a new puppy. They will often call to check on the pet the next day if something was done or the pet was sick. The staff is friendly. Read Less
