We have taken our two Labradoodles to Lake Pine Animal Hospital for many years. Dr Katz and her staff have show our dogs, as well as our family, excellent care and compassion. We lost one of our dogs a few years back suddenly. We took her to Lake Pine extremely critical. They stopped what they were doing and stayed with us and our elderly dog while she past. They could not have been more supportive and compassionate to our beloved dog and our family. Dr. Katz gives our furry family the very best care while keeping cost low, for that we are grateful! When my dogs walk in the door everyone seems so happy to see them! Whenever our pets have a medical issue, no matter how big or small, we always get a few phone calls from our friends at Lake Pine checking in on the pups. We would not take our dogs anywhere else!! Our cats were acting very vicious towards each other all of a sudden after living together peacefully for 3 years. Today is Pete's birthday and what a great time to write a review about one of his favorite people. Pete loves going to see Dr. Katz and her team. I have never had a dog actually enjoy vet visits! Dr. Katz is wonderful. She listens to concerns and answer questions thoroughly. Equally important, she takes the time with Pete, giving him love and helping him feel comfortable. I never feel like we are being rushed out the door. After each visit, we get a follow up call checking to see how he is doing. This is a good animal hospital--not one of the big corporate hospitals which is out of the reach of people like me on a fixed senior income and there is a 10% discount here which, added to the reasonable pricing, makes it a good fix. Most of all, Dr. Katz knows her stuff (I've had dogs for forty years) and the staff is very accommodating and congenial. I have not had a problem with a same day appointment. Read Less

My experience with LPAH has been excellent. I moved here four years ago. Within days my cat Barnaby was very ill. I walked into the office and they helped me right away. Barnaby and I had quite an experience: a month of fluids everyday, cat scan, surgery, blood tests. Everyone was wonderful and they took great care of me too! They saved Barnaby! Barnaby now goes in three times a week for fluids. He is really doing well. We have added another cat , Bella, to our family. She is a rescue through PAWS. Obviously I would recommend LPAH to everyone. If you want a practice where they love your animal where they give extraordinary care then you should be going to LPAH! Read Less

I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Katz & her staff! They saved my cat's life! I adopted my kitten in August 2015. I had him home for about a month, until one night I noticed a change in his behavior (hiding, not eating, not drinking, not using the litterbox). I was new to having a cat, so I wasn't sure what was going on but wasn't getting a good feeling about my snuggly, playful kitten refusing to come out from under my bed! By the morning, he was worse so I decide to bring him in to get checked out. Dr. Katz was very thorough in her exam, even smearing a blood sample and examining it herself, which is how she diagnosed a blood parasite and referred him for a blood transfusion due to critical anemia. I rushed him to an emergency vet; they weren't able to identify the blood parasite but after speaking again with Dr. Katz, I decided to pursue her recommended course of treatment (blood transfusion, a month of frequent antibiotics) instead of following the other vet's recommendation to put him under (at only 15 weeks of age). Within that 15 weeks my kitten made a 100% recovery and is now a happy, healthy 1 year old adult cat. During his recovery Dr. Katz and her staff routinely called to check in on him and were available to answer any questions I had. In a world of "fast-paced" medical care for both pets and humans it is so nice to know I have a vet that cares and that I can trust to treat my animal just like her own! Read Less

Dr. Katz literally saved my dogs life! I have a 10 year old Dachshund who has always been a little overweight, it is just the way she is built, not a dietary issue. Dachshunds can often develop back problems due to their length so this has always been a concern for me. My dog started exhibiting signs of back pain one day a few months ago. I watched her condition worsen over a couple of days and I finally took her to the emergency vet as everything came to a head on a weekend. The emergency vet did X Rays and gave a prescription for pain pills and told me there may not be much else that can be done as her back was starting to deteriorate. While my dog was on the pain pills she was lethargic and had to be carried anytime she moved. When the pain pills wore off she was in obvious pain. Once the cycle of pain pills ended my little doggie had not gotten any better so I took her into see Dr. Katz and have her put down. I was destroyed I had had this doggie since returning home from Iraq 10 years ago. She was my constant companion. It took a lot of mental preparation to make the trip to Dr. Katzs office, but I made myself do it. Dr. Katz examined my doggie and also looked at the records from the emergency vet. She noted that a particular medicine had not been prescribed by the emergency vet and told me that she was fairly confident that it would help if I wanted to try. Naturally, I was willing to try ANYTHING that would potentially help. I started my doggie on the meds and within 24 hours there was a noticeable difference. My baby was getting back to normal. By the end of the med cycle, it was like nothing had ever happened. This was a few months ago and my dog is back to her happy, playful, spoiled self:-) Dr. Katz literally saved my dogs life. I recently started using Lake Pine for my foster cats.  Dr. Katz, and her enthusiastic staff, have been so accommodating and welcoming to our rescue by helping give back to our local community by way of helping us help our foster animals in need of medical care (and there is such a need with homeless/abandoned animals).  I've never had any problems getting my kitties in same day when needed.  I love the family-like atmosphere and small, close-knit staff, that work so well together.  You are not just another person walking through the door, but treated more like an extension of their family.  Giz, Michael, Colleen, Erin, Jonie...(and a few others I'm still getting to know) are welcoming faces that greet me, (well, my kitties) with a smile.  Dr. Katz takes the time to answer your questions and explain anything that may be going on with your pet.  I love her common-sense approach to veterinarian medicine. You don't walk out of her practice feeling like you've been "nickeled and dimed."  You get honest,  quality, preventative medical care for your furry friends. They don't try to sell you on diagnostics that aren't medically necessary.  As a result, I've started switching my own personal pets' care to Lake Pine.  I will happily recommend them to any new/existing pet owner, and in rescue, have many opportunities to do so working with the public.   I'm absolutely thrilled that Dr. Katz and her staff are one of our rescue veterinarian partners and now, my personal vet for my multitude of fur babies.  If you're new to the area and looking for a vet to establish your four-legged friend with, give this team of veterinarian professionals an opportunity to love and care for your fur babies. I was fostering a kitten that ended up with a fatal disease (FIP). Dr. Katz and her staff were so nice, caring and understanding. They worked closely with me and explained the unfortunate prognosis. We decided to wait a few days to try and confirm the diagnosis, but the kitten went down hill very quickly. Dr. Katz and her assistant/nurse stayed with me after they sedated my kitty and after putting him down. He was a very sick little boy and I was very upset, but Dr. Katz and her staff were great. My husband and I just got our first puppy, and we cannot say enough great things about Lake Pine Animal Hospital. Dr. Katz is compassionate, caring, and so knowledgeable. Our English Shepherd puppy is a stubborn little dog, and Dr. Katz was able to give us great advice on how to train him and reward him. Every time we go in, she listens to all of our questions and answers them thoroughly- even if it's something silly like the merits of one dog food over another! When our puppy gets shots, they are always so great about giving him treats so that he doesn't even know that he's getting the shots. Very small place right next to Kroger. Says Animal Hospital so I didn't realize it was a veterinarian for regular care as well. Got a recommendation from a neighbor and so glad I brought my dog here. My other local vet was way too expensive and could rack up the bill so high. The prices are reasonable and fair here, and the staff and Dr are nice, friendly, efficient, and competent. If you're looking for a new vet, this place is first rate. It's spotlessly clean, the staff are polite, knowledgable and helpful, and I've always been able to get my pet seen right away. Dr.Katz (how could you not love a vet with that name?!) is great with any of the problems of either my cats or dogs that I have brought in. She  spent hours suturing back together my kitty's ear after she was attacked, and now you can hardly tell anything happened to her. My other cat got bitten by a snake and she got him through it without any lasting effects. She is great with our dogs as well, and has picked up on several things that could have caused problems if they weren't recognized and treated. The staff at Lake Pine Animal Hospital is excellent. Dr. Jody Katz has been phenomenal the few times I have brought my dog in. My dog most recently had teeth cleaning under anesthesia and she personally spoke to me before the procedure as well as later that day when I picked her up to review how things went, any findings, and after care. I also received a phone call from the office staff checking on my dog the next day as well as at the completion of her antibiotics to make sure things were going well. I've taken our puppy to Lake Pine for her routine vaccinations, and so far I've been very impressed with how accomodating and caring the staff is. It's a very small place with two examination rooms, so we've never had to wait more than a few minutes for the doctor. They're very patient with our new parent questions, and are thorough in their check-ups. And of course, they love dogs and make us feel like ours is the cutest  they've ever seen. My only complaint was they didn't call us when our puppy was due for her next round of shots. I feel like it's common courtesy to send a reminder postcard for something like that. But we told them at our last visit we'd appreciate a call, and they made a note of that. We'll see if they follow up. Like any other vet, they're going to try to sell you all kinds of medications for your dog. At one point, they got a little defensive when we said we wanted to shop around for a flea medicine elsewhere. But otherwise, they're a great, caring staff, and I'd recommend them to anyone with paws. Read Less

I highly recommend coming here if you live in the area. It's a relatively small practice and you benefit from great service because of that. Everyone is extremely friendly and great with their ""patients,"" including my dog that is extremely nervous about going to the vet.
