Creekside Veterinary Hospital

Took a one pound kitten in for possible heart condition or shoulder injury. Was given diagnosis after two x-rays of shoulder injury. About 30 hours later her condition worsened and I called twice for help, was told the doctor was researching pain medicine and would return the call. She called at closing that day. I told her the kitten was suffering, sleeping 10-15 minutes at a time, waking to cry, then sleep...all day. She said she would call me the following day with medicine. By midnight I rushed her to Guilford ER to find out her heart was enlarged 4-6x, she died in my arms before 130am. When I expressed my shock and anger at Creekside they ignored emails and request for ER refund for close to two weeks. Finally I received word she had sent the ER radiographs to another clinic for review. Now i asked if she states the kitten's heart grew that large in less than two days and she was not at fault for forcing the kitten to suffer because the findings stated heart questionable. I took a 6 week old kitten in for what seemed a strained paw. Her heart beat was very quick compared to the siblings and I was concerned she had a stroke. The doctor did two x-rays and listened to her heart and lungs. She said kittens heart beats are 180-200 and hers was normal.She told me to call if anything changed but to be sure she continued to eat.Thursday morning I called 830 and they took my message that the kitten was becoming lethargic and the shoulder was swollen. I called back at 2 and was told the doctor was researching to find a pain medicine for a one pound kitten and would call me back. She called around 6, closing time. I explained how lethargic and in pain the kitten was and she said she found a pain med and would call me the next day.The kitten could not breathe well and stopped eating just hours after the doctor's call. I rushed her to Guilford College Er where her little body was now half a pound and heart rate 60. Her heart was 5x larger than normal and she was in congestive heart and lungs failure. She died within ten minutes in my arms.They did not know what was wrong with her shoulder or paw either.I know mistakes happen. I don't think what transpired after the kitten became lethargic was anything less than negligence.To put it mildly, I was so angry now. These kittens born to a stray in my mom's neighborhood were the first for me as caretaker so how could anyone with experience and schooling not know that kitten had something wrong with her heart? Why had the doctor made her suffer all day and going to make her suffer all night before giving us the pain medication? Why did the doctor not ask to see her again right away or tell me to go to ER?I did email the clinic these concerns. I did ask for a refund. I did cancel the appointment for the mother cat. I did receive a call from the doctor the next day, with condolence for the kitten. She asked me to call her with my concerns.I have no reason to speak to this clinic again so I politely emailed thanking her for the call and letting her know I knew of nothing we needed to discuss and to please just refund my money and cancel my appointment. I have been going here since they opened. Always pleased, until recently. My oldest dog became very ill. Cancer was mentioned but not concluded by tests. I took him for a second opinion.. Same word mentioned, Cancer. I was told to keep him comfortable until it was time, and I would know when it was time. Believe me I knew the second I saw him when I woke up. He was weak, not eating, not drinking and shaking from pain. I called immediately at 7:30 AM to hear the receptionist say "can you bring him tomorrow" No, I can't, he won't make it! "Can you do 3:40? Maybe? He's really bad and in pain. So I called back.. They say bring him at 2:20.. Okay but he's really bad.. Needless to say I was there at 1:30 to be turned away because they were at lunch.. My Ben died on my lap in the back seat of my car gasping for air.. I will replay that day in my head a thousand times over, and I will NEVER bring another one of my animals here. Read Less

I once thought this place was incredible. Until now. The lady at the front desk is HATEFUL ! On the phone and in person. I will gladly spend more money elsewhere. The Dr's are not the problem at Creekside... it's the STAFF. Read Less

Absolutely disgusted by Creekside. I called at 5:00 one afternoon crying because my dog was in severe pain. The receptionist was not only rude but appeared to care less. She said the soonest appointment they had was 4 days later! I asked what to do until then and she said I don’t know. I asked could the doctor at least prescribe something to get her through those days because she has seen her in the last 2 months and she said she would not do that. Which I understand. However I do not understand leaving an 11 year old dog in pain for 4 days!! Do not worry, we were able to call another vets office and get her seen the very next morning. Doc T and her staff are wonderful! They're always able to get our English bulldog in when she decides to become a pain, always super friendly and able to help us out without breaking the bank! We started using them a couple years back and can't begin to thank them enough for all the help she's given us with Bella, Theodore and Franklin. No other vet I'd consider going with Read Less

I never had an issue coming here with my two babies. I called to inquire about weed killer that my neighbor wants to use between our fences and the gap is only a half foot. This person and I am going to be nice and not mention her name. I explained the issue and that both of my dogs are grass eaters, one of them eats grass all the time. Well, she did not put me on hold and started ranting about me and that I need to get over it and so on. She was complaining about me to the doctor. The alarming thing the doctor did not put her in her place while she was ranting about me, that I need to get over it and dealing with people like me that is paranoid and that I should and so on. I am sadden I had to deal with something like this, I came to them because the other vet I went to were just as rude and think they are all that! Now, I have someone who is rude and I wonder what she think of us when we take our fur babies. She said she is sorry, but right now it's not cutting it. Only because, I am now going to wonder how she will treat any pets that come through their door. The doctor did not say one word about her ranting attitude!!!!!!! This female was out right rude and saying mean things about me. If anyone knows a good vet, please let me know. In Archdale, High Point or even Greensboro. I am so tired of people being so mean, rude and full of themselves. This person has no business dealing with the public. I can only imagine what she says about any of us concern parents that are paranoid in her eyes?! I pay good money to take my kids here and I do not think it's asking a lot for decent customer service. I guess I am just dumb, stupid and paranoid in her eyes! I have to assume she may think that about all of us that care about fur babies. Till I find another place, I will have to take my babies there but not for long!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been taking my animals to this clinic for a year now and I could not be more happy with Dr. Tanner and her staff. My Aussie is a very nervous pup and everyone there really takes their time with her to try and help her feel more comfortable during her visits. I recently lost my cat and brought her to creekside to be cremated; a few days ago I received a card in the mail signed by all the staff here at Creekside. It's so wonderful having people that truly care for their clients. I could not ask for a better place to take my animals for any of their needs! Read Less

I actually took Magi, my Shih Tzu for grooming. I was extremely satisfied beginning with check in and when I picked her up, she was exactly as I had requested. Beautiful, of course. I made another appointment for 6 weeks.. I HIGHLY recommend. Thanks for taking such great care of my girl! Read Less

Doctor tanner is hands down the most loving veterinarian I have ever used. Every time one of my beagles is sick she is always willing to go out of her way to help in any way she can. All of their staff is friendly and caring. When I lost my parrot I took him to creekside to have him cremated and although he was never a patient there they treated him like he was a part of their family too. I would recommend creekside vet to anyone and I thank them for all of the wonderful and loving service that they have provided me and my pets!!! Read Less

The first time we came into this office, our cat was having non stop seizures. The fact that we were new to this vet and they so graciously welcomed us and helped as much as they could was so kind. I have two miniature schnauzers and I have also taken two other dogs that have passed due to old age. It is so nice to have a wonderful, caring, vet here so close. It was so much needed. they were very nice, and i felt like they gave me a great price compared to the other vet in the Thomasville area i had got an estimate from. it was probably 1/2 of the price as the other vet. they also clipped his claws at no additional charge and really gave me a great experience for something that was a high priced appointment , of around $400.00 compared to almost 800 or more at the other vet. they did not try to oversell me on services or meds i did not need for my little Tuxedo . and this will be my vet for the future.Read Less

Yesterday, October 22, 2015 was my first ever experience with Creekside Veterinary and Dr. Tanner. I was referred to their office by three separate people all with rave reviews. Dr. Tanner and her staff were very friendly to myself and my Yorkie pup. Dr. Tanner listened well and offered several options to choose from in treating my dog's allergy problems. She was thorough in her explanations and even had some homeopathic advice that didn't involve long term prescriptions and steroids. This was not a good experience, the vet is very detached and clinical. I did not sense a tremendous amount of compassion for the animals she is supposed to be helping. She was too late to save my boy and did not seem aware of how much danger he was in until he died in her office. She had left us with her vet technician (who was nice and compassionate) to deal with another dog but failed to notice that he was near death and he basically died in their office that day. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Read Less

I had a pet emergency on my hands with my nine year old pug.  It looked like she somehow separated a nail from her paw and it was bleeding quite a bit.  I freaked out and took her to the closest vet to my house, which turned out to be Creekside Veterinary Hospital.  They saw her immediately without an appointment.  Apparently it wasn't as bad as it looked and they got her some pain meds and took care of the problem.I was so thankful that they saw my dog immediately in an emergency and impressed with their care that I now take all three of my dogs there for their regular appointments and vaccines.  The staff is wonderful, and the clinic is very clean.
