My husband and I have taken our Emma here for years.  They are so extremely polite, professional and knowledgeable.  Recently we moved to western NC and they arranged for Emma to be seen for a possible more serious problem.  They also recommended a Vet in the area near us.  The serious problem was indeed important but benign. Before today, I would have highly recommended them. I have been taking my German Shepherd here for almost 4 years with great service, and likewise for almost 2 years with my Beagle mix. However, today I had an appointment for the beagle, but she slipped out of her collar and wouldn't let me catch her. So after my shepherd jumped in the truck, I decided to take here instead since she was also due for a visit. On my way I realized I was running a little late, so I called to notify them (and the change of the dog) and was asked how late I'd be. I told them less than 10 minutes, and was told that they were booked and couldn't let me come late, even though I was also offered to reschedule for only an hour and a half later. I can't for the life of me figure out why 10 minutes would be impossible for them, even though they obviously had an opening an hour and a half later. I hope 10 minutes was worth a customer with two dogs, because I won't be returning. A little common courtesy goes a long way for me. Read Less

This is the best group of professionals that you would find anywhere.  The Vets are analytical as well as kind and thoughtful.  You will come away with all your questions answered and a follow up call is standard. Bahama Road vet practice is a rare combination of total caring for the dog, knowledge, and skill. Our Rottweiler had a torn cruciate ligament. Dr. Bianco fixed it. Through the whole process it’s obvious he just wants to get your animal well. He spent a lot of time with us going over options. He is confident in what he does and he certainly should be.. We are very fortunate a friend recommended him. Making money seems to be secondary. We could have paid thousands more for the same outcome. But Our dog has other issues so If it weren’t for Dr. Bianco we might be reluctant to start shelling out money in the future. That’s not the case now. The staff is also 100% as caring as him. I have taken my pets to the Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital ever since it opened. Wouldn't consider going to any other group. For the last 12 years they have cared for my beloved Bubba like he was their own. He had multiple health issues over the years and we were always treated like he was the only dog in the practice. When the day that all pet owners dread happened, we were treated like family. The compassion and caring was exceptional. During one of the most difficult situations imaginable the warmth and support everyone on staff extended was fabulous. I currently don't have a dog....too soon. Great Team of Veterinarian Doctors, Wonderful friendly and efficient front office receptionist, competent and caring Vet Technicians. I have been taking my 4 wonderful dogs, several of which were K-9 to Dr. John Bianco for over 25 years. I have also relied on the Professional abilities of Dr. Skip and Dr. Chris on a number of occasions, two real good guys, caring with wonderful personalities. There are three other Vet Doctors on Staff, and I am sure they too are very competent. Everyone at this Veterinarian Hospital are caring, polite, respectful and understanding to the needs of all animal pets and their owners. I just can't say enough praises for this Staff and Facility. After removing my pets from the game playing Quail Roost Animal Hospital I brought them here. I am so glad I did. First they make you feel like your pet is the only pet in the house. I have two geriatric cats, a pair of sisters at almost 18 years old & a younger cat who is 2 years old. I had to try and get an appointment as my cat has started having seizures (18yr old with no prior history.) While we do not know yet what is the cause I do know I appreciate having my pet examined with me in the room, not the mystery exam you get at Quail Roost where your animal is taken elsewhere to be looked at...... blood work is processed on site.... It's the first time I have ever been pursued to the parking lot by a vet to ask some more questions. That means that when you walk out of Bahama Road Vet your file is not tossed on a shelf...... they are still thinking about your pet when you are leaving. Quail Roost can not return calls they offer to make to the pet parent of a sick cat but these folks at Bahama Road are still thinking about my cats care after we sign the credit card slip??? Whoa! top notch! over the years i had the pleasure to deal with all, or at least most of the vets. they are all wonderful and provide many different areas of expertise. they correctly diagnosed the cause to an issue with my dog, which was overlooked by the emergency hospital and promptly made arrangements to get this taken care of by vsh. at my last appointment i've had the pleasure to work with  the newest addition, dr. cocchiaro, who seems very detail oriented, and was thoughtful enough to make a chart of each bump or skin tag on my dog, in order to biopsy the existing ones and better track any future ones. Been seing dr bianco for some years. He never is one to take your money. He was always honest and fair. When we needed surgery for our puppy or treatment for our senior pup he said: this is what Literatur recommends but if this was my dog this what I would do ( which a lot of time was wwwaayyy cheaper for us) and a fiancial sound middle way would be xyz. We have had 3 dogs to have visits here now and we absolutely love it.  The ladies at the front desk and the Vet Techs are friendly and helpful.  I always appreciate being fully informed--there is nothing more frustrating than having your dog poked and prodded without knowing why.  We have seen 2 different vets (Dr. Hevener and Dr. York), and they have both been friendly and knowledgeable.  It's always appreciated when Vets don't use scare tactics.  Our older dog is now just a little overweight, (thanks to encouragement and a stricter plan has lost 13 pounds over the last year) but we once had a Dr. who told us if he didn't lose 30 pounds plus, he wouldn't be able to walk without excruciating pain past the age of 8. We came in today for check-ups, shots, and an initial visit for our newly adopted puppy.  She was a shelter adoption, so was understandably nervous, but the entire staff greeted, petted, and gave her treats making her feel as comfortable as possible.  Our other dog needs a couple of things biopsied, and Dr. York was so gentle, he stood there like a champ.I can't imagine going anywhere else for Vet care. Dr. Hevener, as well as the other Veterinarians and technicians who assisted in Sampson's care, were very compassionate and took time to discuss all our options. I had been taking my dog, Lucy to a different vet in Northern Durhamand for months we tried to find out what was wrong with her. She was only a year old and had been to the vet more than most dogs twice her age. After spending a lot of money and time and the previous vet, we went searching and were finally referred to BRVH from a close family friend. I can honestly say I am so very happy with the decision to go there. After just one visit and a set of x-rays-we discovered what was causing our Lucy all of her pain and discomfort. Dr. Bianco was very friendly and informative and the front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. The vet techs were so gentle and sweet with Lucy, as the vets office has become quite the scary place for her. I highly recommend this vet to anyone in the North Durham/NW Orange County area! I've been taking my beast buddy Jake here since he was a pup, and can't imagine taking him anywhere else.They have a beautiful building on the corner of Bahama Road and North Roxboro Road (at the entrance to Bahama). The facilities are modern with a touch of country charm. It's a very comfortable and inviting atmosphere.The doctors are great! Jake has been seen by several of the doctors over the years and I have complete confidence that he received the best possible care available. The office staff is great too. They're always cheerful and ready to help us with whatever we need.Jake recently went in to get his teeth cleaned and to have a fatty mass removed from between his front legs. The cleaning and surgery went well.  The staff gave us detailed instructions on the aftercare and followed up with a phone call a few days later to see how he was doing.I have nothing but praise for Bahama Road Veterinary Hospital.
