Brought my puppy here for vaccines and a well-check. Both of those visits went well, even though I was over-charged on the first visit and had to get a credit on my account. My puppy got very sick about 1 week after his second round of vaccinations and I took him there for treatment . . . they were very unprepared and unable to treat him (large-breed puppy). They did not even take an x-ray which would have helped with his diagnosis. They honestly should have told me "we have no clue what's wrong with your dog" and referred me elsewhere where he could have received proper treatment that day. He almost died and ended up needing multiple days at an emergency animal hospital to recover. Instead they kept him in a crate all day, giving him IV fluids which did nothing. They also charged me $200+ for a urine culture (one that I collected myself and brought to them) and which they did not receive results back from for almost a week. On top of that, the vet tech that saw my puppy when he was sick tried to pry his mouth open and force feed him a weird, mushy food he wasn't even familiar with, and who was at the time running a 106 degree fever! While the other techs were very nice, she was rude and completely unprofessional. She took it upon herself to do this, as it was not under the instruction of the vet and then proceeded to tell me that she was going to have to "force feed him". Are you kidding me? I informed the vet what had happened and they did nothing about it. I will NEVER take my puppy back there, and I am only writing this review so that other people can make an informed decision and avoid visiting this clinic. Read Less

A wonderful veterinarian and staff. I have 3 dogs and 6 cats and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Dr. White is so helpful and shows great concern for our animals. His staff is friendly and gentle and knowledgeable. I'd been to several vets in the area before discovering Catawba Heights Animal hospital and they are the best in my opinion. Read Less

While the vet was great with my dogs, this clinic has locked themselves into some ridiculous policies that do not put the customer first. They did not carry the heart worm medicines I wish to give my pets, but refuse to fax a prescription to an outside pharmacy so I can get them elsewhere. They also will not order the medicines that I want. It would take them 2 minutes to fix this, but they are saying they can’t verify the source of the meds from the outside pharmacy so they refuse to fax!? Then why write a prescription to be used at an outside pharmacy in the first place? There is no logic here. Read Less

My wife was dying from a brain tumor and our little dog had a cough that was of concern. I didn't want to leave my wife for any longer than necessary so I asked if I could drop the dog off and pick him up after he had seen the vet. I said I would always be available by phone. No matter how much I asked and pleaded the answer was "no!" I wouldn't leave my wife to sit in a waiting room so our dog did not get treated. My wife died shortly thereafter. Judge for yourself. I have taken my pets to Dr White for over 18 years. Not only have they received excellent care, but Dr White treats each animal with dignity and compassion. He has always worked with us to provide the best quality of life possible for our pets, without unnecessarily recommending treatments that might prolong their life but not ease their suffering. And when the inevitable time comes, Dr White not only helps ease our friends passing, but I have come to view him as a kind family friend who is there for us in time of need. Read Less

We take our Great Dane and cats here, Dr. White has been an excellent doctor!  The staff is friendly and helpful.  Recently my cat had a urinary infection and had to spend the night in the emergency clinic, Monday morning I brought him to Dr. White who gave me recommendations for a diet change (along with medicine from the ER).  My cat is healthy and happy and I think more playful and active now! Our cat Leo broke his leg Saturday and is at CARE in Charlotte. I called Dr White this morning and the lady that answered was not very helpful. Dr. White would not provide an estimate without an exam even though I offered to send the X-Rays. He also could not do surgery for a week because he was booked. The quality of helpfulness and knowledge of the staff has dropped off considerably as we have been using him for several years. Dr White is a good vet however due to the lack of a service and knowledge of his staff, and out dated practices we will be looking for a new vet for our 6 animals. UPDATE: I called Wilkinson Animal Hospital in Lowell and they were super helpful. Even though it wasn't cost effective for us to use them(We already had a bill from CARE even though Wilkinson was less expensive) we will be looking to take our animals there going forward. Love them my cat had been having breathing problems and I took him in and with just a chest xray and a few minutes of lookimg him over they determined he had asthma. They didn't yank me around trying to sell me crazy stuff they just gave him a shot and we was asthma attack free for 6 months which was a lot longer than they had expected it to last.Read Less

I brought in a injured kitten I found at work and the staff all went beyond what was necessary to try and help the kitten. Very compassionate and friendly people. They even helped out with making the charges very reasonable. Overall a great experience.Read Less

The entire staff is very loving and caring toward my dogs. Dr. White has even called me to make sure Lulu was doing well. When Cassie needed surgery they made sure I had all the files and x-rays for the surgeon. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring vet. Read Less
