Banfield Pet Hospital

Burlington, North Carolina
General Info
Banfield Pet Hospital employs veterinary mobility to ascertain breed risk factors for Burlington pet families based on North Carolina’s seasonal and environmental patterns. The session starts with questions regarding everyday movement, like how well your cat climbs, how it sits, jumps, or gets tired and if there is any isolation behavior. The head-to-tail method evaluates the following: weight, orthopedic stability, range of motion and coat health, breathing ease, oral cavity status, and sensory organ responses. Identifying breed-related health problems notably hip dysplasia spinal issues allergies and overheating primarily relies on pet history together with the physical indicators. Banfield Pet Hospital offers several services such as vaccine programs, lab work, lameness checks, nutritional coaching, dental exams, and pain evaluations. The timing for reassessment depends on the natural history and seasonal risks. For example, large breed dogs tend to become stiff in the winter, atopic dogs may have a flare up in spring due to pollen, and narrow nostril breeds are less able to exercise in the summer due to heat. The planning process can be modified according to age stages, implementing the recommendations of an activity-based conditioning program. Visit reports sent to families include information about home adjustments (traction tips, harness type and temperature awareness), weight target, and monitoring notes. Schedules may need to be modified based on how a pet is performing (in terms of athletics), the type of monitoring that is being done, or weather-related plans for those pets that have arthritis or are getting older. Banfield Pet Hospital has designed this health management model for pet owners in Burlington and other parts of North Carolina. The model relies on movements, timing, and knowledge of specific breeds. Services offered include Boarding, Wellness Exams, Mobile Vet, Dermatology, In-House Pharmacy, Grooming, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Blood Pressure Monitoring and Anesthesiology. This range of services enables pet owners in Burlington and the surrounding areas to obtain everything they require for their animals, from standard checkups to advanced veterinary procedures. The clinic has a strong presence in the Burlington area and offers services aimed at ensuring pets’ comfort and wellbeing throughout their lives. Clients frequently emphasize the staff's kindness and the efficient service they receive. From preventive care to complex diagnostics, Banfield Pet Hospital continues to respect the welfare of animals. The clinic’s friendliness helps pet owners fully understand their pets’ treatment plans and make informed decisions.

This vet is inside PetSmart. We took our senior dog to be groomed at the PetSmart and they called and said that she had some blood near her bum so they took her to the vet. Our dog indeed had a small benign tumor in that area so the groomer must not have paid attention when we told about that and maybe she cut it. At any rate the vet said she had an infection and put her on an antibiotic and we had to pay for all of that. We took the dog to our own vet a few days later and there was no infection at all. We felt that this was either not a good veterinarian at Banfield or they take advantage of customers of PetSmart. Read Less

I have a wellness plan and took my dog Reese because she was sick . I had no appointment because you never know when it will happen. The lady behind the desk took some of the symptoms and when back to talk to the vets. When she came back she said they were to busy to see her . The best they could do is a drop off the next day. In my 67 years I have never had this happen at any other vet clinic. They have no problem taking my money. They made me fell like I was a bother and had no time for me or my pet . We have had our wellness plan for 3 years . I hope I never have another emergency , they will probably be to busy. Read Less

The vet I had was polite and knowledgeable, but at the same time the price is outrageous. If you need a vet, please go to Eastern Randolph Veterinary Hospital...So much cheaper and much better care for your pet. I'm not impressed. Will not be going back. They kept trying to talk me into boosters and stuff for my dog upon finding out I've given her the shots she needed at home. The staff was friendly.. but again the price is OUTRAGEOUS. $15 for a half ass nail trim that wasn't even cut down good. $94 in all for a rabies vaccine, a pyrantel 3ml dewormer (which you can buy a bottle on Amazon for $22), a "wellness exam", and that's it. Then being talked into buying a plan for my pet.. that I did not purchase. Please take your pet elsewhere. Read Less

Went there this past week, my girlfriends dog was in need of critical help. As we pulled up to the petsmart where it is located at my girlfriend called in to get some assistance with bringing our dog in he was a 100 pound dog. They informed us to go to the front and see if petsmart could help with a flat bed. Once we get there I run inside where a petsmart employee told me to ask for help from Banfield in the back, So i run to the back where i clearly tell an employee that it's an emergency that my dog needs help ASAP. She looks at me and says one minute sir and turns to talked to another lady about a facebook message. YES A FACEBOOK MESSAGE!!!!!!!! I then turn around to see a petsmart employee with a flatbed, I run outside to the lady with the flatbed and ask "Are you looking for the lady with the big dog for banfield?". She told me yes and i point over at my girfriend who is right in front of her..that's when i see my girlfriend start panicing and look up at me saying he stopped breathing....They finally got him to the back where i asked my girlfriend when did he stop breathing. Thats when she said 2 seconds before you walked out the door. I would not recommend going there in an emergency. Where that was the closest place open on a sunday. Read Less

I had a terrible experience at Banfield this past weekend.  When I called earlier in the week to inquire about appointments, I was told that Banfield takes walk-ins from 2:30-4:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.  When I arrived at Banfield on Sunday at 2:25, I was told by the person at the front counter that they couldn't accommodate my two pets because "the walk-ins are only for sick or injured pets, not for preventative care."  However, I'd gotten served without any problems the previous afternoon -- as a walk-in -- for another pet's preventative care.  So, I asked to speak to the Amy, who was posted on the white board as Today's Practice Manager, and was told that she wasn't there.  I asked, 'But isn't she Today's Practice Manager?" and was told that she had left early.  So, I asked to speak to Dr. Mattocks, the veterinarian-on-duty.  Dr. Mattocks' explanation for why my cats couldn't be seen was that their exam rooms were "all booked up."  But I'd gotten there early and had been the only one in line . . .  I'm convinced that they all just wanted to take the afternoon off and lied to me.  So, I went elsewhere and definitely won't be back to Banfield for any pet care and will be sure to let others know about my experience there.
