If you are looking for an extremely well-run and friendly veterinary practice who goes above and beyond, then look no further than Creature Comforts.  All three doctors are very thorough/knowledgable and each bring something different to the table. The vet techs are super caring and really get to know you and your pet - our puppy actually looks forward to coming here.  If you have lab work done for your pet, you are likely to get emailed results right away and also a phone call/text (especially if it is something time sensitive, they will even contact you in less than 24 hours if they have the results back).  My dog Leo got outside of our fenced in yard this morning and he chewed on a big mushroom but we weren't sure if he actually ate any of it.  He didn't have any odd symptoms whatsoever, but I brought the mushroom pieces in and Dr. Sigmon called every resource she had available to her to figure out exactly what type of mushroom it was and could it pose any danger to him.  She did this for free/without even seeing him, they just did this to get the answer for us and to add knowledge for their practice.  Amazing! The friendly office staff does not overbook the practice and so each client has their full attention and you don't ever feel like your pet is just a number to them.  I feel as though their pricing is in line with other vets in Cary (as all vets are bit pricey in our area!).  Creature Comforts wants you to enjoy your pet and their goal is to keep him/her healthy & happy and guide you in whatever way possible as a pet parent. Our family, which features two geriatric Great Danes, moved to the area about a year ago. Our furbabies have a few health issues stemming from age with which they're dealing. Upon our first visit, we were quickly taken to a private room (NO time in the waiting room with other (ill?) dogs). We met and talked with tech who was friendly, knowledgeable, and kind... then we met Dr. Betsy. Sweet holy hand grenade! The genuine outpouring of love for my pups from her was epic!! In fact yesterday, after Ego had been refusing food, she went home and COOKED him a turkey and cheese omelette!! She went way above and beyond the call of duty in caring for my ailing boy and I can't thank her enough! Dr Betsy and her staff are a remarkable team that I will recommend to all. Dr. Betsy and Dr. Mackie (and the rest of the staff at CCAH) are wonderful. They are very knowledgeable and patient. They care for your pets like they are their own. I have taken my 3 dogs and many foster dogs to Dr. Betsy for almost 10 years. She always explains things to me and offers me options for treatment. I ask a lot of questions and am skeptical due to having to vet 3+ dogs. They do not "hard sell" me and never make me feel guilty for taking less invasive approaches to care first and they keep me well informed. They always contact me after a visit to check up on us as well. They are very well connected and often speak to specialists at NCSU and other institutions for multiple opinions on difficult cases. Dr. Mackie is also great - he has operated numerous times on several of my dogs for close to 18 years (including prior to CCAH). I trust him with all my dogs. You can't go wrong with this vet.Read Less

Absolutely wonderful practice! My husband and I were in St. Lucia recently and one of our dogs got her toe nail stuck in her crate and needed medical treatment. This was on a weekend but I was able to email Creature Comforts front desk and Martha set up an appointment for our dog to be seen first thing Monday morning when we returned. This situation was handled so well and yet thousands of miles away. We feel so lucky to be clients of Creature Comforts. Dr. Sigmon is amazing and has an unbelievable resource of specialists she contacts should she need to reach out to them regarding your pet. We know this firsthand as our dog Jet would have not had his successful Liver Shunt surgery with Dr. Karen Tobias at the U. of Tennessee without Dr. Sigmon's help. She and her staff go that extra mile for you and your pet! Hats off to Dr. Sigmon and the staff at Creature Comforts, we truly appreciate you all!Read Less

I would rate less than 1 Star if I couldAppalled! Dr. Sigmon is the worst vet I've ever been to in over 40+ years of owning pets. Their slogan says "Dedicated to your pet's quality of life". Well guess what??? I called to be seen ASAP due to a very sick puppy that had been seen the previous night at the emergency vet service in Raleigh. They wanted the puppy seen by her regular vet immediately. When I called I was told that the practice would no longer be seeing my pets because I don't always agree to full evaluations. Translation, I don't pay for unnecessary services. The prices are outrageous and she tries to talk you in to services that aren't necessary. When you decline because with over 40 years experience breeding and showing dogs, I know better, this is the treatment you get. Long story short, my 15 month old puppy died before I could get her seen at a new vet. My puppy has been a patient at Creature Comforts Animal Hospital since she was 4 days old. Her death was unnecessary! That's not caring, it Pure Greed! Read Less

Working in Customer Service, I know that one bad review can deter a lot of potential clients. That being said, a good/great review can bring in new business. I recently moved to the area and my adopted pup has severe anxiety and nervous tendencies. On a whim, I contacted Creature Comforts as they are so close to my home. Upon entering we were greeted kindly by the staff who was SO GENTLE and PATIENT with my Lola. I feel choosing a vet is as important as choosing a medical doctor for yourself. I could not be happier with the care we received from both Dr. Betsy and her staff. Our last vet immediately recommended medications for Lola's anxiety and pushed obedience classes and crates, I felt very uncomfortable with that (due to her past and being abused). Dr. Betsy recommended things that I am able to do at home with her to relieve her stress and actually talked to me like I was a human being and friend, not her paycheck, or just another client. She and her staff took time to make Lola feel comfortable and went over all her previous medical history, as well as her adoption story with me, Dr. Betsy even offered to assist me in bathing Lola (as she is terrified of the experience and I usually end up bruised and cut up). I have NEVER had someone in the medical industry offer their time to HELP. I cannot comment enough how important it is to take the time to get to know your clients/patients. I was extremely pleased with the convenience, patients, and knowledge offered by CC, and not just Dr. Betsy, her entire staff as well. We have our next appointment in 1 month for additional boosters, and I look forward to continuing visiting there and creating another stable, safe environment for my pup. Read Less

Overpriced services ($17.00 for a nail trim) and always a huge unwelcome "surprise" when paying.  I really wish the staff would go over charges prior to providing services so paying would not be such a horrible shock.  Dr. Sigmon is definitely educated; however, she spends most of the appointment talking into her computer screen while she furiously inputs data rather than actually speaking to you as a human being.  The office seems overly busy and under-staffed which leads to sub-optimal care and long wait times. The office is pretty and the staff is generally welcoming, but the overall feeling is a vet with a lack of time/interest/care in your pet's well being.  Very disappointed. Read Less

Sweetest staff and great care for Lola. This vet is very good about sending reminders, emails and phone calls, but they aren't overly annoying. They ask the best way to contact you and they use it, in my case it's emails. They have weekend and late hours, do dental cleaning, and all the other important things for my loved pets. Over priced for a basic annual clinic. Vet's website and biography make her seem like she's the best but doesn't listen to the client, even leaves the exam room while I'm trying to talk to her about my pet. She doesn't do any of the surgeries, diagnostics, and honestly didn't even handle my pet. The staff handled and did everything with my pet in the back. Then the vet came in, acted like she was too busy, and the funny thing is...there were no other appointments there, the place was dead. Two receptionists jumped up smiling from what they were doing to say hello, and the front office manager even came over to say hi and meet us. Thank you for your dedication to our loved ones. Read Less

Also the vet is in affiliation with NC State. When she has a question she just calls up the vet school and asks. Love it! I always feel like I'm getting the best care for my pet. Read Less

I don't mind paying an extra buck to have the best care for my pet, but this was no where near the best vet I've ever seen. Read Less

From the second I walked into Creature Comforts I was wowed. Two receptionists jumped up smiling from what they were doing to say hello, and the front office manager even came over to say hi and meet us. They checked us in and offered all kinds of drinks and snacks. The vet staff was very friendly, and seemed to know their business. When the doctor came in, she came right over like she'd known me for years and made me feel really welcome. She did half her exam on the floor with my dog and I left feeling like she really cared about my dogs health. I can't give this place enough recommendations.
