This incredible crew has raised my dog through a tough beginning and saved my dog's life more than once during emergencies, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Kindness and remembering us even when we haven't been there for six months goes a long way when my baby is sick and I'm sad and scared. My dog likes to blow up with rare and odd medical complications from simple life (just ask Drs Pagel, Harris, and Stein) and Cole Park has always been there to work him into the schedule within 12 hours so he wouldn't be in pain. We've been going to Cole Park for eight years, and I can't say enough about them. I love everyone there. So far, they are good caring people, lovely facilities and everyone is very accommodating (Great Dane who is the Princess and elderly owners who know what she wants). I so appreciate the front desk, technicians and docs in the practice - they are all friendly, compassionate, supportive and caring.  And, many of them remember me and my pet Sampson when we come in, which is amazing considering all the clients they have!  I have used them for almost 20 years, through the long life and loss of two wonderful dogs, and now on to my third.  Even after moving across town several years ago, they are still well worth the drive back. DANGER: Found guilty of malpractice after giving cat third degree burn. We paid hundreds of dollars to have our cat's teeth cleaned at Cole Park and while she was under anesthesia, due to a misuse or malfunction of heating pads, they severely burned her on almost 10% of her body. The burn that they gave her was misdiagnosed by 3 different doctors 3 separate times. Our cat was left without pain medicine or proper treatment for four weeks. We took her to the ER as soon as we found out what really happened and after seeing a specialty surgeon, she had the entirety of the burn and the dead tissue underneath removed and the two sides of her skin were stitched together. They cost her 4 weeks of pain, a $1500 surgery, a week in emergency medical boarding, and weeks of recovery. It is shocking it did not cost her life. She was a perfectly healthy four-year-old cat. None of this was necessary.They volunteered little support or apology, only offering to attempt to fix the burn with a procedure they were not qualified to perform. We have trusted all four of our cats to Cole Park Veterinary Hospital for many years and are heartbroken by the betrayal of both our loyalty and our trust, and by the lack of any sincere concern or remorse on the part of their staff. My dog ended up ripping out his nail during a trip to the dog park. My vet at the time couldn't see my dog until many hours later, but a lot of the people at the dog park recommended this vet to me. I gave them a call and they told me they could see my dog right away. The staff at this vet hospital was very friendly to both me and my dog right from the start. Also, during the basic check up, they found a slight arrhythmia in my dog that my other vet didn't notice. The whole situation and procedure was dealt with very professionally, but also with care. The vet was very upfront about costs and I didn't feel like the bill for the emergency visit was outrageous and they sent follow up notices to see how my dog was doing. I always felt very cared for here from the moment I stepped foot inside and I changed my vet immediately. If you're looking for quality service, then definitely come here. Read Less

Well I was very excited to take my new dog to this vet, but things just haven't worked out the way I had planned. Our first appointment there we were standing in the lobby as 3 people sat behind the front desk and only one person checking out was being helped, we were told to have a seat. So we sat, while we were sitting down another man came in with his dog and one of the three helped him right away... so it was a bad first start. Finally after waiting for 30 min we saw the vet who was very nice and we really enjoyed, but the front desk staff make me not want to go there ever again. To top it off, we called at 5:55 on a day when the office closed at 6:00 because our 12 week old puppy was having urinary troubles. The woman at the front desk finally answered the phone and with an attitude said, "well you know we close in 5 minutes right!" like i was being an inconvenience because I was worried about my puppy! I just can't handle people like that, you are in a service industry, I know when it's time to go home that is what everyone wants to do, but you are there to perform a job. She put me on hold for 4-5 minutes then got back on the line and told me no one was there to help us. I will be going to their office today to pick up my puppies records and take him elsewhere. I know these people care personally for my best friends. I am able to get appointments in a short time and the staff and Doctors stay on schedule. We have 3 "special needs" rescue felines who are wonderful family pets for us but who present serious challenges for vets and vet techs. They "aggressively decline" giving blood or allowing their temperature to be taken or submitting to much of a physical exam. They can be forced to cooperate, but they are strong and ninja-like in their resistance. They came to us with a number of symptoms--both medical and behavioral-- which baffled vets at our previous home in Michigan. When we moved to North Carolina 3 years ago, we found Dr. Droke at Cole Park. Her quiet, patient, methodical, and extremely intelligent approach to diagnostics made me think of Dr. House for felines--except she is NICE and professional as well as brilliant. Her persistence and follow-up have delivered remarkable results. She helped us get all of the cats into good health and on the right regimen to keep them healthy. We are extremely grateful for the expertise of Dr. Droke and the staff at Cole Park. We always enjoy the folks at the front desk who are friendly and helpful. The techs are well-trained and, in dealing with our pets, downright courageous. Everyone here loves animals...even the animals who can sometimes behave in defiant and unloveable ways.Read Less

took 6 month old puppy. Part time vet took blood test..in a dirty treatment room . 3 days later this vet called me with disastrous results from blood test. I was frightened that my puppy's platelet count was 1/3 of what it should be. I called back to request an apt there with a different (full-time) vet. Blood tests were taken again. This time the platelet count was normal. No apologies. No refunds for Monday's test. Just business as usual. How could these people be in business? Read Less

We've used many vets over the years and Cole Park is the best by a mile. These are just fabulous people who really care about animals. From making house calls to treat a beloved 20-year old cat (who does that these days), to staying late to treat another who was bitten by a copperhead, to performing surgeries on strays that are brought in (we found out after we adopted her), they are simply the best we have ever encountered.
