We have 4 cats and have been taking them to our regular vet. 2 are having some more in-depth issues, so I brought our sick girl in today. The knowledge of the vet as well as the tech was impressive, and I think we're on the right track to figure out a problem that has been going on for a while. I left feeling hopeful and like I had some answers. We will be taking all 4 of our cats here from now on.

The Cat Hospital has been a special place for our family for the medical care & vacation boarding they provided to our beloved cat, Frisky, for many years. After an earlier surgery and at the old age of 18, Frisky's cancer returned. The doctor suggested we allow them to provide final care, to send her on her way before she suffered awful pain. We gathered there as a family to witness her passing. It was important for us to be there together. This is a remarkable care giving team that we will never forget. We love the Cat Hospital. And we miss sweet Frisky.

I am using The Cat Hospital for feral trap, neuter and release services, through Operation Catnip. We are on our 8th cat, and I have been completely overwhelmed by the amazing care and services provided by Dr Szymkowski and the staff at this clinic. They consistently go above and beyond for these cats, who frankly are VERY unhappy to be there! I continue to be so impressed by this team. I love working with them on the feral colonies. Thoroughly recommend.

I am so happy to have found this wonderful hospital! I am extremely picky about where I will take my cat for treatment and who I will allow to handle him, but I could not be any happier with the services here. Every single staff member I have encountered, from the front desk to the doctors, has been absolutely outstanding. They are knowledgable, kind, patient, and though I always have a lot of questions, they never make me feel rushed during my cat's exam. The communication between staff members is excellent, and I always receive a timely response when I call or email. On top of all of that, I have found their prices to be quite reasonable. This hospital is by far the best in the triangle for our feline companions!

Stay away from Dr. Szymkowski. Do you really want to support a person who ILLEGALLY withholds a W2 from a previous employee? What about a person who treats employees badly? There are many better cat vets out there, ones who follow the law and treat their employees with respect (ie, Dr. Colleen Wallace of Cozy Cat). I've witnessed her call a client an "a*****e." I've witnessed her being not so gentle with the cats. Stay away!! You've been warned.

The Cat Hospital was able to see my kitty the day after I called and able to schedule her in for a dental surgery within one week. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable. They were excellent about answering questions and emailing to follow up with my kitty after the surgery. I love that it's a cat-only hospital because there are no dogs to scare the kitties. I recently moved closer to Pittsboro, but I'm so happy with the staff at the Cat Hospital that I won't even consider switching vets for my cats. They have unusually good doctors there. When they examine my cats, they don't go looking for zebras when they hear horse hoofs. They're very level-headed about treatment and examinations. Great people all around. I always enjoy chatting with the office manager at the front desk.

Both the excellent health care and loving care they provided our cat is above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Our only wish is that we had left our previous veterinarian sooner - where the diabetes 'care' our cat was receiving was very wrong. I am so grateful to Dr. Szymkowski! She is an intelligent and capable vet who always made me and my kitty feel comfortable. Dr. S and staff always addressed my anxieties and helped me make the best choices for care and cost. They were kind and understanding at every step throughout a long-term illness. At every visit or stop to purchase food or medication the vet techs and front desk staff were helpful to me and my family.

The staff here is amazing and the reviews reflect that. They earn their 5 star rating. They made a tragic experience manageable. Unfortunately, our twelve year old cat Charlie was euthanized as he had advanced cancer. My wife and I were crushed by the news. I cannot state enough how honest, caring, and understanding the staff was and it really helped us process what was happening and understand the difficult decision we needed to make. All you can ask for in a vet is genuine compassion for the animals and their owners and the Cat Hospital of Durham demonstrated this throughout the process. They could've asked us to spend a lot of money to try to treat something that was non-treatable, and we would have chased any potential cure with reckless abandoned. As difficult as the choice was, we were able to do the right thing and end our beloved cats suffering in a humane way. I cannot say thank you enough!

Everyone here is a team player and all are amazing! To begin, the receptionists are the sweetest, most helpful, patient, knowledgeable and kind people you will ever meet. In fact, my cat may not be alive today if I didn't listen to the receptionist when she told me I better bring him in when I first called.
The vets who work here are also wonderful at what they do, thorough, practical and patient to answer all of my questions!
The exam rooms are complete with proper padding to prevent any anxious kitties from scratching a hard table surface and the outlets are filled with Feliway /pheremones to calm cat anxieties as well.
The hospital is very clean.
I love this place and will be coming back always!

$700 in emergency vet bills in one night because of negligent prescribing of medication. We were not warned of the side effects at all and my cat almost lost her left eye. Furthermore, they didn't apologize--they simply told us it made sense and that it was too rare to tell us about--even though the Cary animal eye specialist says they see it at least 10 times per year and the vet told us her friend's cat with the same condition experienced the same side effect twice! There was no reason to put her on that high of a dose and no regret shown for the wasted time, money, and trauma. Now my cat will most likely need expensive surgery on her cornea because of the bad judgement of this vet. I have been taking 4 cats there for 3 years and will never return.

They saw my cats through hyperthyroidism, acne, dental work, UTIs, kidney disease and advanced age. They were there for me when my dear Buckaroo passed shortly before he would have turned 19, and I adopted my two youngest Rudie and Rosie from them. I live in another state now, and now that my Smudge is entering her elderly years, I miss them terribly!

I have been going here for close to two years with my cats and I don't think I would go anywhere else. Everyone in the office treats you as if you were their only client, and they remember your kitty by name. I can't tell you how many times I have called with questions and had them answered on the spot or my call returned with the hour. They have even called to check up on the kitties when they had been ill or recovering from surgery. I also appreciate their honesty, Dr. Kirch doesn't pull any punches, she tells you EXACTLY what she thinks--even if it isn't what you want to hear. For instance, she let me know she wasn't happy that I hadn't been giving my cats heart worm medication. Because of her frank honesty, and letting me know the dangers of not doing so, I bought some before I left the office. I highly recommend this office. . . exceptional care and I trust them immensely with the care of my animals.

We have 4 cats and have been taking them to our regular vet. 2 are having some more in-depth issues, so I brought our sick girl in today. The knowledge of the vet as well as the tech was impressive, and I think we're on the right track to figure out a problem that has been going on for a while. I left feeling hopeful and like I had some answers. We will be taking all 4 of our cats here from now on.

My cat recently developed bladder stones, and the staff members at the Cat Hospital quickly and intensely came to the rescue. Dr. Szymkowski and Dr. Edwards along with other staff members were so helpful and knowledgeable. Along with a new diet plus taking her in for an IV for several days, my cat is back to normal. The Cat Hospital has been a special place for our family for the medical care & vacation boarding they provided to our beloved cat, Frisky, for many years. After an earlier surgery and at the old age of 18, Frisky's cancer returned. The doctor suggested we allow them to provide final care, to send her on her way before she suffered awful pain. We gathered there as a family to witness her passing. It was important for us to be there together. This is a remarkable care giving team that we will never forget. We love the Cat Hospital. And we miss sweet Frisky.

I am using The Cat Hospital for feral trap, neuter and release services, through Operation Catnip. We are on our 8th cat, and I have been completely overwhelmed by the amazing care and services provided by Dr Szymkowski and the staff at this clinic. They consistently go above and beyond for these cats, who frankly are VERY unhappy to be there! I continue to be so impressed by this team. I love working with them on the feral colonies. Thoroughly recommend.

I am so happy to have found this wonderful hospital! I am extremely picky about where I will take my cat for treatment and who I will allow to handle him, but I could not be any happier with the services here. Every single staff member I have encountered, from the front desk to the doctors, has been absolutely outstanding. They are knowledgable, kind, patient, and though I always have a lot of questions, they never make me feel rushed during my cat's exam. The communication between staff members is excellent, and I always receive a timely response when I call or email. On top of all of that, I have found their prices to be quite reasonable. This hospital is by far the best in the triangle for our feline companions!

Stay away from Dr. Szymkowski. Do you really want to support a person who ILLEGALLY withholds a W2 from a previous employee? What about a person who treats employees badly? There are many better cat vets out there, ones who follow the law and treat their employees with respect (ie, Dr. Colleen Wallace of Cozy Cat). I've witnessed her call a client an "a*****e." I've witnessed her being not so gentle with the cats. Stay away!! You've been warned.

The Cat Hospital was able to see my kitty the day after I called and able to schedule her in for a dental surgery within one week. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgable. They were excellent about answering questions and emailing to follow up with my kitty after the surgery. I love that it's a cat-only hospital because there are no dogs to scare the kitties. I highly recommend them.

I recently moved closer to Pittsboro, but I'm so happy with the staff at the Cat Hospital that I won't even consider switching vets for my cats. They have unusually good doctors there. When they examine my cats, they don't go looking for zebras when they hear horse hoofs. They're very level-headed about treatment and examinations. Great people all around. I always enjoy chatting with the office manager at the front desk.

Both the excellent health care and loving care they provided our cat is above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Our only wish is that we had left our previous veterinarian sooner - where the diabetes 'care' our cat was receiving was very wrong. Our family cannot put into words the gratitude we have for the Cat Hospital of Durham and Chapel Hill for the kindness and excellent care they gave our cat and showed our family. Integrity, quality care, respect for life, just can't say enough good about them. :)

I am so grateful to Dr. Szymkowski! She is an intelligent and capable vet who always made me and my kitty feel comfortable. Dr. S and staff always addressed my anxieties and helped me make the best choices for care and cost. They were kind and understanding at every step throughout a long-term illness. At every visit or stop to purchase food or medication the vet techs and front desk staff were helpful to me and my family.
Dr. S went above and beyond when it came to care for my cat!

The staff here is amazing and the reviews reflect that. They earn their 5 star rating. They made a tragic experience manageable. Unfortunately, our twelve year old cat Charlie was euthanized as he had advanced cancer. My wife and I were crushed by the news. I cannot state enough how honest, caring, and understanding the staff was and it really helped us process what was happening and understand the difficult decision we needed to make. All you can ask for in a vet is genuine compassion for the animals and their owners and the Cat Hospital of Durham demonstrated this throughout the process. They could've asked us to spend a lot of money to try to treat something that was non-treatable, and we would have chased any potential cure with reckless abandoned. As difficult as the choice was, we were able to do the right thing and end our beloved cats suffering in a humane way. I cannot say thank you enough!

They have taken care of my kitten many times while I've gone on vacation and have always been so good about scheduling me on short notice when she's gotten sick. They are fair in pricing and the care and attention received is unparalleled. It's so relieving knowing that my feline best friend has such good doctors that know her and love her too.

Thankful for the Cat Hospital and all of their hard work.
Everyone here is a team player and all are amazing! To begin, the receptionists are the sweetest, most helpful, patient, knowledgeable and kind people you will ever meet. In fact, my cat may not be alive today if I didn't listen to the receptionist when she told me I better bring him in when I first called.
The vets who work here are also wonderful at what they do, thorough, practical and patient to answer all of my questions!
The exam rooms are complete with proper padding to prevent any anxious kitties from scratching a hard table surface and the outlets are filled with Feliway /pheremones to calm cat anxieties as well.
The hospital is very clean.
I love this place and will be coming back always!

$700 in emergency vet bills in one night because of negligent prescribing of medication. We were not warned of the side effects at all and my cat almost lost her left eye. Furthermore, they didn't apologize--they simply told us it made sense and that it was too rare to tell us about--even though the Cary animal eye specialist says they see it at least 10 times per year and the vet told us her friend's cat with the same condition experienced the same side effect twice! There was no reason to put her on that high of a dose and no regret shown for the wasted time, money, and trauma. Now my cat will most likely need expensive surgery on her cornea because of the bad judgement of this vet. I have been taking 4 cats there for 3 years and will never return.

They saw my cats through hyperthyroidism, acne, dental work, UTIs, kidney disease and advanced age. They were there for me when my dear Buckaroo passed shortly before he would have turned 19, and I adopted my two youngest Rudie and Rosie from them. I live in another state now, and now that my Smudge is entering her elderly years, I miss them terribly!

I have been going here for close to two years with my cats and I don't think I would go anywhere else. Everyone in the office treats you as if you were their only client, and they remember your kitty by name. I can't tell you how many times I have called with questions and had them answered on the spot or my call returned with the hour. They have even called to check up on the kitties when they had been ill or recovering from surgery. I also appreciate their honesty, Dr. Kirch doesn't pull any punches, she tells you EXACTLY what she thinks--even if it isn't what you want to hear. For instance, she let me know she wasn't happy that I hadn't been giving my cats heart worm medication. Because of her frank honesty, and letting me know the dangers of not doing so, I bought some before I left the office. I highly recommend this office. . . exceptional care and I trust them immensely with the care of my animals.
