I want to thank everyone at Harris Vet Clinic, they were very kind, and patient with me. Selma contracted a parasite, and was perscribed medication in liquid and pill form for ten days. Well, I was having trouble getting the liquid in her. They told me to bring her in, and they would show me again. Then offered to give her the medication daily, if I would bring Selma in. I was blown away. Didn't need to take them up on this offer , but deeply appreciate their kindness. Read Less

I am extremely pleased with the staff and the work performed. I recently took my two dogs in for their yearly physicals, as well as dental work for one of them. One of my dogs has anxiety and can be fearful, which becomes pretty intense when visiting any veterinary clinic. The first time we visited this office, they introduced us to "happy visits" and also took the time to educate us on various other methods to improve her association with veterinary clinics. The next couple of visits were for my other dog, but they made sure to give the one with anxiety plenty of attention (and treats). By the 4th visit, she's already improved SIGNIFICANTLY all thanks to the CARING and PATIENT staff at Harris Boulevard Veterinary Clinic. I was also very nervous about taking my other senior aged dog in for dental work (because of the anesthesia and needed tooth extraction), but once again Doctor Gold made all of my fears go away. This place is wonderful and has become a pleasant experience for both myself and my dogs. Definitely does not compare to other clinics that I have been to in the past. Read Less

People at the front desk have zero personality and seems like it’s such a displeasure to be talking to you. Also their physical exams on dogs have a lot to be desired. However, I had a great experience with the vet who did my dogs surgery which turned out well. However, the customer service is just terrible. I called once to get advice on what to do with my dog because she’s extremely high anxiety and we were going on a big trip. I wanted to find out if they recommended medicating her or anything else that could help. Person that answered the phone was of no help and said they couldn’t help because she was overdue on a vaccine! I then asked if they could please help me with a solution or recommendation for this trip and they literally said “no.” and that was it. Needless to say I’ve taken my dog elsewhere and am relieved by the wonderful care and customer service I’ve received. They are much more thorough. I also don’t like how they take your animal “in the back” to do shots, take blood, etc. My new vet does it all in front of me where she is more comfortable. Read Less

This vet has been extremely kind to us. We moved to the area a little under two years ago, and they were the closest vet. Good reviews had us excited, and they didn't disappoint. They were extremely kind to both our animals, and provided us analysis on our little weird one that no other vet had pointed out (an existing condition we were unaware of.) We unfortunately moved far enough away a visit there would become a huge chore, and when we requested their documents (to provide to our new vet,) they responded in kind just minutes after the request. Love Harris Boulevard Vet Clinic and I'd suggest them to anyone who wants the best for their pets. Read Less

Never used this clinic as vet for our pets, so this review is not about vet care because might be very good. We had an emergency due to my father's death in Europe. I had to choose a place for our German shepherd to spend 8 days very fast. We picked him up in the morning. We were told he was eating well but when my husband brought him home in 8 days he lost so much weight. At home I fed him, he ate as he was so hungry and we have one of those very finicky eater shepherd. After that he drank 4 bowls of water! I know they don't provide water to drink at all times for dogs so they don't have to take them out so often or clean up after them. Cages are just concrete, just like kill animal shelter I got so many dogs out. No access to the outside when they need to go. Do not recommend as boarding place. Read Less

We've been taking our cat here the past four years, and have always appreciated the care and attention our kitty receives from Dr. Loveless and the assistants. Our cat in particular has special needs, since he gets cage rage and will hiss and spit and growl at anything that moves. Despite his bad attitude, Dr. Loveless pets him and calms him down as much as possible. He seems to know when their bark is worse than their bite. We originally came to the Harris Blvd Vet Clinic because our cat had a perpetual ear infection, despite medicines. Another vet in southern Charlotte wanted to charge us an unbelievable amount just to check if he had ear polyps, then even more to remove it. Dr. Loveless confirmed it was a polyp during normal exams, and the price for the surgery to remove it was half that of the other vet clinic! And he followed up with several phone calls to make sure Kel was recovering. Not to mention all the other great services they offer... Saturday appts, house calls during the week if you can't travel with your pet, pet boarding and sitting. Although we haven't used any of these services, we would be very comfortable with any of them, because we know they'd be up to the same standards of care our cat has received these past three years. Their website is awesome compared to some vets too, so it's very easy to see what services are available. I will note that you should not spend the money to get your cat spayed or neutered here, however. Since they don't do these services often, they charge a great deal.Read Less

I called in advance to let this vet know that my dog was in heat and I needed to board my male AND female. Neither had been fixed. I asked if this was a problem and there quick answer was ofcourse not. So I took both of my labs in to be boarded for about a week and a half. I mentioned again once walking into the door that my female was in heat and that they needed to be kept seperately. As I began to fill out and sign the paperwork, one of the vet technicians came up and asked if my dog was in heat and said that they were locked up in the back. They tried to convince me that my dog probably wasn't pregnant after one lockup. I asked if she was what the options were because I do not have the time or facilities to raise a litter of puppies as I stay in an extremely small apartment. They said to bring her in at 40 days and they could take an xray and spay her if needed.Well at 37 days, I called back and said she was definitely pregnant and what they were going to do to help. They told me that they couldn't do anything because if they were, they had to do it at 30 days. Obviously displeased, I asked what they were going to offer to do to help and their only answer was they could give the puppies away for me. I don't need help getting rid of full blooded labrador retrievers. I need help raising them for six weeks as it was their fault. The admin there told me she felt like I was trying to take advantage of them and get a free spay. I expressed that after 3 years of not spaying my hunting dog, I had no intentions of spaying her. Still they offer no help, but they didn't hesitate to take $460 of my money. They have poor communication with each other AND they don't supervise the dogs they let into the back. VERY POOR SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALISM!Additionally, the facilities and its staff seemed like it was complete chaos. The only reason I left my dogs is because I was in a pinch and had no other choices as I had to do something right then. I was going to hope and pray for the best. The A/C was not working as I was sweating just standing in the lobby. The staff that make the appointments are completely rude and have no knowledge of their jobs. Any dog lover with good general knowledge of dogs could challenge any of these helpers and quickly realize they aren't fully qualified to entrust one of your beloved pets to. Dr. Loveless on the other hand was what I would expect at a Vet. I cannot say the same for his staff who actually handles the animals. Read Less

I recently moved to Charlotte and as a housewarming gift my brother gave me a puppy. Per the breeders instructions I had 72 hours to take the dog to the vet and get a checkup. If I didn't I couldn't get a refund of my money if anything was wrong with the dog. I found a vet close to my house and made an appointment. When I arrived at the vet they informed me that the doctor canceled my appt and I would need to reschedule a week later. I told them my story and that it would be too late. They didn't care. So I told them to forget about it I would find another vet. I went home and started looking for another vet. I was discouraged because it was the last day and it was already 4:30pm. I found Harris Blvd Vet and figured what the heck let me see if they will take me. They said if you can get here by 5:30pm we will see you. I raced over and was greeted by the NICEST people ever. I was a little worried after reading the two reviews about rude front desk people. They must have let that person go. They were so wonderful and attentive. A week later, I changed my dogs food and she began vomitting. As a new owner I panicked. I called them and once again they told me to come right over (it was closing time again). Dr. Cheeseman saw my dog and gave me some medicine. She called me for 3 straight days from her cell phone to make sure my dog was ok. Dr. Cheeseman and the staff at Harris Blvd are wonderful and I would recommend them to any and everyone. Hope this review helps. Read Less

We put our two dogs up to kennel here for four nights. (We just moved to Charlotte and they had not been seen prior to this by a vet at this office.) When we went to go pick them up, we were greeted by the rudest, most unpleasant human being I have ever encountered. After paying for our pets, a fellow vet tech at the front asked if she had applied all discounts. Our rude person patted her on the shoulder and said, of course; then left the room. The fellow vet tech looked over our bill and said that Rude Person had ""forgotten"" to apply a certain discount (about $40, for boarding 2 pets at one time). When Rude Person returned, we told her she had forgotten. She then, VERY rudely, said, ""Well, she can help you with that"" (pointing at fellow vet tech) - even though there were 2 people in line at fellow vet's register! We literally had to stand there while she REFUSED to help us! As we were standing there, she actually offered to help the people in line at fellow vet's line, instead of us! The woman she offered to help was elderly. Rude Person said, ""can I help you?"" and the elderly lady, obviously hard of hearing, said, ""what?"". Rude Person replied, ""fine, stand there all day for all I care."" !!! As we were leaving, we realized we were missing some items we'd dropped off with our dogs. Forced to go back to Rude Person, we explained the situation. She insisted we had everything with us. Finally, we got someone else to help us, and they went back right away and got our missing items. I highly recommend that you not take your pets to a place that employs such horrible, angry human beings - who knows what they are doing to our pets when we're not looking? Read Less

Read Less

I have been seeing the vets at Harris Boulevard for eight years and have nothing but praises for the staff. These are caring, capable professionals who have taken as good of care of my pets as I could ask for. Routine visits are always smooth, and sick visits are handled with concern and careful detail. When we recently found out our senior golden retriever had cancer, Dr. Lisa Cheeseman carefully delivered the news to us, and both she and Dr. Loveless assisted us through the process of putting her to rest with dignity. I could not have gone through all of that with anyone less caring and compassionate than this team of doctors. My pets will always see the great doctors at Harris Boulevard. Read Less

I have a chin who had damaged her eye. After calling every exotic pet vet in charlotte this vet was the ONLY one that even said they could definitely help me. I can not even begin to explain how impressed I was. The staff were amazingly caring and sensitive to the pets that were there, just from what I witnessed. The amount of time that Dr. Wheelock took with me and my pet was stunning. Not only did he care for her and get me exactly what I needed to get her back to health but he called an optimologist to ensure that nothing further needed to be followed up. Futher more... He went over general help/care tips for chinchillas. Everything from games I can play, to stimulation and even dieting! Basically, I live over an hour away... and am going to begin taking my dog and my cat up to them... It is worth it! PS: I would also suggest to anyone who has reptiles.. TAKE THEM TO SEE HIM!
