One of my dogs, Watson, has a condition rarely seen outside of AZ, and while many other vets refused to see him, the doctors here jumped in with enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine desire to help continue his treatment. Great place for grooming your pets! Jennifer Worth has been grooming my dogs for about 15 years. I can't say enough wonderful things about her! My dogs are so in love with her that they actually turned to go back with her when we checked out! I drove from Greensboro for a knee surgery consult for my pomeranian based on their other 5-star reviews, and they surpassed my expectations. I have rescued & fostered many dogs over the years and this is by far the BEST vet & staff I have ever worked with. I will be bringing all of my dogs here from now on, it is totally worth the 3-hour round trip to know my babies are in such great hands. UPDATE 12/30/17: The knee surgery went great! I have been taking my pups Princess Xena and Goddess Isis here since 2012 and every visit they go above and beyond. When I rescued another, Duchess Fate, who ended up being heartworm +, they out did themselves with detailed explanation of how heartworms affect a dog and how the treatment would work. I have since moved 600 miles away but at this point, next month I will make an appointment for all four now (yes rescued another) and travel those 600 miles one way just because I know Dr. Melissa Long and Dr. Michelle and Dr. Bart honestly do have the dogs best interest at heart. My cats have been going to Independence Veterinary Clinic for years even before the present owners. I always get a wonderful level of feeling for these vets who take care of grumpy cats and dogs. My two cats turn into bowls of Jello and it makes the exam by the doctor much easier. I like the level of care they are willing to go to to make yur cat feel better. The folks at Independence Veterinary Clinic really care about animals! I have a 13-year-old terrier mix and when she was having a dental emergency they didnt hesitate about making space for me to have my dog come in. They immediately diagnosed her and within three days she was in surgery. When they were checking my dog they seem to understand that it can be financially difficult to move forward with treatment and we're very transparent about providing information on cost which helped ease my nerves about cost. My dog is a senior dog and she doesn't do well with new people but the people at Independence veterinary clinic were very nice and said such good things about my dog that it made me feel that she was in good hands. I have taken my dog to other veterinary clinics in the Charlotte area and I must say that out of all of them this is the one that I'm the most pleased with. It has been two weeks since my dog has recovered from surgery and she is back to her normal, happy and peppy, and enjoying here much loved walks; all thanks to the people at Independence veterinary clinic. I've been to several vets over the past 30 years, with multiple animals. I came to independence vet clinic after a referral from a friend and coworker. She couldn't say enough nice things about all of the vets in the office! My ten year old black lab was very sick, sicker than even I knew at the time. Independence vet clinic welcomed us with open arms and treated my dog and myself as if they'd known us forever. My last month with My lab was extremely tough but I never felt alone. The office and vets called nearly daily checking on her progress and how I was handling everything. I was so thankful for their support and care! I'm never leaving Charlotte because we've finally found an amazing veterinarian team. We recently moved to a different part of Charlotte but we continue to drive back to IVC because I can't imagine taking my dog and cat anywhere else. We've worked with them through the years for senior canine care and end of life care to puppy care and even hereditary illness with one of our puppies. I worked with two other well known specialized vet practices over the years in Charlotte and hands down IVC has the most caring staff, the most compassionate and modern veterinary care, the best line of communication, and the fairest prices on service. This last piece is equally important to us as it allowed us to make the best decisions for our pets while affording the best care we could provide. We have been taking our animals to IVC since moving to Charlotte in 2010. We love all the doctors there, and have spent tons of money at IVC. Among the procedures we've had done there are: Removal of a toy that got lodged in our 10 month old bulldog's intestines Care when that bulldog developed pneumonia after the intestine surgery Skin cancer removal on our older bulldog Recommendation on which vet to take one of our dogs to for a complicated ACL repair Putting a dog and cat to sleep after losing their battles with cancer The bottom line is that my animals are my children, and I demand the best care for them. I have taken my many cats, dogs and rabbits to Dr Michelle, Dr Bart and Dr Melissa for 9 yrs now. I had tried three other vets after moving here 10 yrs ago. Dr Michelle diagnosised my Mickey right away which explained the symptoms that the other offices couldn't. Dr Bart preformed the cancer surgery and Mickey has been completely healthy and is a 15 yr old man now. I have 4 personal pets, I'm active in animal rescue, and I used to work at a vet's office, so I have visited and am very familiar with many of the veterinarians in the Charlotte area. Independence Veterinary Clinic is leaps and bounds above all the others. I originally visited IVC because my dog needed an ultrasound and my current vet did not have an ultrasound machine. IVC had great ratings online and also quoted me a price about half of what every other vet did for an ultrasound so I decided to give them a try. I am so glad that I did! Dr. Michelle Bryan took so much time with me and my little senior chihuahua, Duke. She wasn't "in and out" like all the other vets I have seen in the past. She carefully explained to me everything she saw on the ultrasound, the reasons behind her diagnosis, and all of the costs and benefits of different treatments. She didn't try to guilty me into spending a lot of money, and she even helped me find the most affordable options. She and the vet techs were so kind and gentle with Duke. They were incredibly friendly and seemed to really care about my dog. Dr. Bryan called me the day after my visit to follow up and make sure I understood Duke's diagnosis and the different dosages of the several medicines and supplements he has to take on a daily basis. Then she called out of the blue a couple of weeks later to see how Duke was doing. She stated that the staff had been talking about chihuahuas which made her think of Duke so she just wanted to check on him. It is so refreshing to find a vet who actually cares about my pet and is more concerned about my pet's health than with making a bunch of money. I will now be permanently switching all of my pets' care to IVC. They are the most friendly, knowledgeable, and affordable veterinary office I have ever visited. When we moved here 30 years ago we took our dog to Dr. Beck at IVC. He was wonderful and we had many years of good service. When my 15 year old dog had to be put to sleep he had been her only vet and he was compassionate. When the new Drs bought his practice we continued with them for a very short time. They wanted to upsell everything: teeth cleaning, base line blood panels, things we had never done with our 15 year old dog and she was so healthy and lived a very long life(incidently she never had tooth problems and died with all of her teeth.). We adopted an adult dog and took her for her first visit. She was already scheduled at the spay neuter clinic but at IVC we were made to feel like bad pet owners because we opted to stay with that plan for around $50 instead of the $200 plus IVC wanted to charge. I have been taking my Phoebe and Diana to them for 5 years. We recently had to send our Diana to God after 14 years. They handled the whole experience with Grace and Class. Even Dr. Michele cried with us. The room was set up very peaceful, with candles and soft music. She explained what would happen. They gave us a cast of her paw print and sent us a condolence card and beautiful poem about the Rainbow Bridge. I highly recommend them. They are very caring people and have such a love for your pet. We bring our pug to this clinic and have always had wonderful experiences. They have been so good to us and our dog. Anytime he has been sick they were quick to get him back on his feet again. We have been using IVC for many years, long before the current owners purchased the clinic several years ago. We were so sad to the Dr. Beck go, but were completely thrilled with the new owners once we got to know them. Each of the doctors is so caring and compassionate, in addition to being a skilled veterinarian. They treat our animals as if they were their own. The staff could not be any nicer or friendlier. They always greet us by name and know the names of each of our pets. Everyone takes a real interest our ""babies"" and is genuinely concerned when they are ill. They call to follow up the day after any one of the animals has been in for a visit to see how they are feeling, and the call us every month to remind us to give heartworm protection. I also like that they do things for the community, like gather donations of food for those that need assistance, raise money for the American Cancer Society, and offer Pet CPR and First Aid classes, to name a few. They are a great group of people that really go above and beyond the call of duty. We have had pets for many, many years, and have been to a number of clinics in that time, but since we moved to Charlotte we have been loyal clients of IVC and would not dream of going anywhere else. We are also involved in dog rescue, and I am so loyal to this clinic that I take my rescue dogs here and pay for their care out of my own pocket, instead of using the vet the rescue group uses and would pay for. I see that there is only one reviewer that did not give them 5 stars, and based on the post, it is a disgruntled former employee. How often do you see a business with all 5 star ratings from clients? Please do not let that one bad review factor into your decision about using this clinic. I have referred everyone I know with pets to this clinic and cannot think of one negative thing to say about them. Everyone I know loves taking their pets there. IVC is a wonderfully accomodating, caring and educated veterinary clinic. They work with you, the client for the best treatment plan for your pet. I work in animal care and was a tech for some time, which opens my ears and eyes to A LOT of practices and never have I heard or seen anything negative about them. Dr. Michelle and Dr. Bart work to the bone to make their practice the best in Charlotte. Priced not to steal your money(which is rare in Charlotte) but to afford the best treatment for your pet. Sending out labs to get the best reading possible; there are many things that a tech can not see on a slide or when they run bloodwork in house. I have 2 vets in the Charlotte area and will not go anywhere else but these 2. IVC takes their time with you and your pet. They are open extended hours to accomodate YOU. Everyone you run into at IVC is always full of love for you and your pet. There is not a high turn over in their practice which means, happy educated receptionists and techs. They are very selective on their new hires; it is a high bar that the people who are employeed there had to meet and exceed for YOU and your pet. They greet you at the door or your car to help you in when your hands are hardly even full. They help you out to the car. There are never any stupid questions to ask them; there is always follow up, even on vaccinations to ensure that your fur baby is doing well. Heck they even go as far as to give you reminder calls for your pets monthly preventatives!They train their staff WEEKLY on new things and old things to ensure the best care.I have been both in the exam rooms and in the back with my pets and others. Never once did I have to wait more than 5 minutes of walking in the door and never once did I feel uncomfortable with the procedure being done. Ask around; ask kennels, doggy day cares, pet shops, pet owners they will tell you. No matter which vet or tech I have had in a treatment room my pet is always treated like the only pet on Earth and I am treated as if I am the only human on Earth.I refer the daylights out of them to my clients as my clients pets are just as important as my own. Your pet deserves the best treatment possible, seek no further as you have found your practice. Keep in mind, just like human health care, animal health care is not for the faint of heart. The best 'bosses', vets and managers at veterinary clinics expect nothing but the greatest composure and work out of their employees. Like I said before, high turn over is a negative in this industry, IVC does not have that. If they let somebody go it is simply because they did not make the cut, not because they are a bad person.
