Have been to this facility a couple times. The cost is lower than the place I had been going to for the last 15 years and I think it's great that your first visit is free (the office visit, not the treatments). I thought the wait time on my last visit was a little long because there didn't seem to be any other patients at that time (I could have been wrong of course) but it still took 20 minutes, however that won't affect me going there in the future. The BEST veterinarians! Our 18-year-old cat, Kato, was looking REALLY bad for some weeks. Dr. Gerstner found that he is in kidney failure and rx'd some KD food that he's been eating. Great staff and friendly environment. The prices are very reasonable. I truly feel as if they love my pets as much as I do. They have assisted me multiple times with last minute shots needed before boarding and when my cat was sick it felt as if they honestly took a personal interest in his health with follow up phone calls just to check in. It was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to other Vets that seamed as if they were only interested profit and you only ever just a file number. I highly recommend this Vet.Read Less

My dogs last vet retired and closed their doors. My dog had an emergency and I needed to find a vet quick. I am extremely impressed by the compassionate staff members. I am the 2nd generation in my family to take our pets to see Dr. Gerstner and the team at the Mint Hill Animal clinic, with which we could not be happier! My many childhood pets all lived well into their prime (10+ years for cats and 12+ years for dogs), which I attribute to regular check ups and a very knowledgeable veterinary staff at MHAC.  I now make the trip with my 2 cats and 2 dogs from Matthews to Mint Hill (now that I have my own household) because the trust we have built over 20 years and the reasonable prices they charge are completely worth the extra miles.  I highly recommend this practice for life long and affordable care for your pets. Every time we have gone to another vet we end up back at Mint Hill Animal Hospital so that the vets there can fix up what others screwed up. Help me through my cat's cancer and his death. My wife and I are new to the area, and coworkers recommended Mint Hill Animal Hospital above other local options, so we made an appointment when our dog had an infection. They were quick to find an opening for him in their schedule, so we jumped at the opportunity. When we arrived, we were greeted by the B-squad at the front desk. They had scheduled an appointment in my wife's name, but upon arriving, we learned that the office staff had typed in random information (or auto-completed the appointment information with previous customer information) because the name, address, and every other piece of information was wrong. This led to an increased wait time and immediate annoyance. It's always frustrating when people have simple jobs but are unable to do them competently.The pricing seemed competitive, and the veterinarian was friendly and knowledgeable. The overall experience was just mediocre, however. If this is the best that Mint Hill has to offer, I'm shocked.The next time one of my pets needs veterinary services, I will be going to Sycamore or another clinic nearby to see if I have a better experience. This has been our vet for many years and I could not do without them. We have relocated throughout the east coast and I would recommend them over any vet we have had. In fact, I have traveled many hours just so our dogs could be seen by this staff. When our Maltese became ill (kidney issues) they did everything possible to find the problem and try to help. They even stayed with him after hours and weekends to monitor his condition. Unfortunately he passed. The vet and the staff were very saddened and some even cried. You must understand they truly knew how dear this dog was to me. Several months ago another of our small dogs pased away at home of old age. When taken to this vet to check for possible other causes they gave us a small casket size box so we could place him in his resting place in our yard. Several days later I received in the mail a sympathy card with my dog's  paw print on it. I will always cherish this. ALL, and I do mean all, of the staff members are passionate about each and every animal that comes in the door.  They send updates on appointments, give advice on everything and as a new puppy owner after almost 15 years are helping me navigate that new path. I am one of those individuals who ask a million questions. They are always patient with me answering each and every question thoroughly. Believe it or not my dogs enjoy going there. Like I said, what would I do without them. If you are a pet owner who maybe thinks of your animal as "fur person" ( I say that in jest) and wants the very best care for him or her this is the place to go. Dr. Gallagher and the entire staff are always amazing with my pack and then some ;). They sincerely are invested in my dogs and genuinely care about them on an individual level. The ladies up front always take the the time to know the clients and know me by first name when I call. Great customer service but more importantly they love my pack as their own! I had to bring my pet to them to be euthanised. They were very sympathetic and caring for both me and my pet, and gave me time and privacy to grieve. They also honored my request to have a clipping of my pet's fur as a keepsake. I also received a condolence card later that week that the vet and staff had all signed, as well as my pet's paw print. It was so sweet of them to take their time to do that, it made my son feel better to have that reminder. Their pricing is also much better than Banfield and you get much more personalized care, and you feel like they really love the people and animals coming through their office.
