Irate about what this vet did to my catWe trusted Dr. Brown implicitly for years!!! Zuzu was refused a second Depo Shot (she had only had one in November, which worked) for her recent severe allergy problem after the vet went on and on and on and on trying so many expensive, unnecessary, lesser options. The depo shot obviously proved to be the only thing that worked between November and now!!!!! The vet felt strongly IN NOVEMBER that it was the food (that she had told us to give our cats), yet she did not assign the new (prescription) food until late February!!!!????? We finally were able to get her SECOND depot shot AT A DIFFERENT VETERINARY CLINIC.....Our cats do not EVER go outside and have been on Revolution for over a year and do not have access to our porch! And, when we do occasionally go on the porch, the cats do not stay, because the tile is too cold for their paws. THE FOOD SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED MUCH EARLIER than late February AND A SECOND DEPO SHOT WOULD NOT "cause diabetes" (which is what she claimed)!!!! Contracting diabetes would be such a slim chance compared to ZuZu developing a hematoma, WHICH SHE DID last month from the vet neglecting her needs AND NOW ZUZU's EAR IS PERMANENTLY DEFORMED!!!!!!!!!!! Further research showed that diabetes and Depo shots are not a factor until a very slight possibility after 5 - 8 of them and then mostly in elderly, overweight males! Many many cats receive Depo shots monthly for years!!!! Never getting diabetes!!!!!! Why was the food not changed? She refused to change from November to late February (and of course all three cats are devouring the more appetizing food now, so there would not have been a problem with our cats eating)!!! Why were so many expensive medicines that did not work charged to us instead of the CHOICE of another Depo and/or the choice of the other food?????!!!!! In fact, considering another Depo and food change to what the vet thought would be better (since November) was refused. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! NOT TO MENTION THE RESULTING HEMOTOMA, EXPENSIVE PROCEDURE, HORRIBLE RECOVERY (because she was still allergic to the food), ETC. !!!!!! Can not express how upsetting this situation has been since NovemberWe have not said anything up to this point, because we trusted them, but OBVIOUSLY there are problems going on at this place!!!! What happened here is obviously NOT following protocol!!!!! Her ear is permanently deformed now from a situation that was totally avoidable!!! No apology, no acceptance of responsibility, nothing!

I searched for a new vet/groomer for my baby and found this place. The staff is so nice and always very pleasant on the phone - the vet was so warm and friendly when I brought her in for an ear infection and she came back looking perfect from the groomer. They even sent a personal card after our visit. We have found our forever vet!

So disappointed recently. We have taken our pets to PGAH since about their 2nd year of operation. We have basically been satisfied over the years. They have always taken back anything we did not use or was inferior. We have a GSD who has bad allergies and her food alone(can food for a large dog) is about $300.00/ month plus other medication that we have to add. Recently she became more symptomatic so last week we picked up another medication and a new box of probiotics/enzymes, prebiotics. Not wanting to start both meds at the same time as I would not know what was working, I increased her prebiotic mix to twice a day. It seemed to do the trick in stopping her signs of irritation. So I called today to ask to return the other medication which was $54.00 . We have not opened it and will not use it. But we are stuck with it.They would not take it back. This hits hard as we spend so much to keep her in good shape and walk fine line with the finances of it all. I wish they had told me that it could not be returned. I would not have purchased it and just tried the one at a time. Not good customer service after so many years. Marge W

If your pet really have issue, do yourself a favor before you got rip off.Horrible on respecting your time - I was promised a follow up phone call due to a recent elevation on my dog kidney blood work( not to mention, they charge me almost $300 for a senior blood work (my dog is 7) and all kind of treatment ( fine I care about my dog) Never called on time, half day later I have to call back to follow up- put you on hold for 15 min (while I delayed one of my meeting cuz I care about my dogs condition), nothing, promised another call back.Finally got to speak to the vet, my dog never had vomiting or any symptom, but vet insisted he will, and telling me he might only live for another year...and stay on and on for 20 min instead let me ask for the question, she sounds like a bad sales man and try to sell all kind of services...Do me a favor. I don't care about $$, but I do want to know what's the reason you made those judgement call and what can we truly do to help him rather than sell those in house treatment - for example ask me to take my dog in hospital once a week and inject fluid. My dog never showed any symptoms as the vet indicated, he quickly went back to normal and happy dog. The vet made him sound 10 times worse and we are about to lose our long term best friend.If you truly care about the animal and owners feeling, please make yourself sounds more reasonable. I almost get no chance to speak since you took over almost the entire conversation and trying to make a business out of it.I will change my vet for sure! Bye!

Dr. Lewis is the best vet I’ve ever been to! My dog used to be terrified of going to the vet. She would shake and wine and I’d have to carry her around (she’s 45 pounds!). The staff at Piper Glen is so nice and welcoming, my dog struts right in now. Dr. Lewis explains things in terms I actually understand! I have a senior dog that needs a good amount of attention these days and the Dr. Lewis always lays out my options with no judgement. Just love this place!!

I just moved to Charlotte and have found my new vet/groomer!!
From the moment I walked in to the time I left, I was pleasantly greeted and treated. I took my kitty in for an ailment and Dr. Wood and staff took the time to know the entire history of my kitty. I even heard one of the nurse assistants telling Dr. Wood my whole story before he entered the room. That showed me that she was listening to every thing I said so that they could get to know us and provide my kitty with the best care and treatment possible.
Every employee in this establishment was genuinely nice. The setting is nice and apparently stocked with all needs, clean, comfortable and fresh. These are the qualities my vet in my old state told me to look for!
Can’t wait to bring my pooch in for her first grooming there!

I board my dog there every other week when I travel for business. They love her and she loves them. They are fantastic with my dog and it makes me feel a little better that I have to leave her so often that she is in good hands. I also use them as her vet so they have all her records. When I bring her in they know her by name and just treat her great. Love everyone over there they are just super friendly and great with my dog.

There have been many emergencies handled by way of a phone call until we could arrive to Piper Glen for Dr. Wood and his staff to take over. From trimming nails and cleaning teeth to both planned and emergency surgeries...there is no better than Dr. Wood. Both Dr. Wood and Jamie are like extended family to us because of the compassion they have for our four legged, furry family members! Karen and the entire staff welcomes us with a warm greeting each time we call or come in. I recommend Piper Glen Animal Hospital without hesitation.

We have been with this group for several years. They assisted us when we had to put our beloved cat of 17 years down. Everyone was very kind and compassionate during the whole process. They now treat and groom our sweet Tucker (Cavapoo). Sylvia dotes on him when he is groomed and follows our instructions/requests to cut him shorter in the summer and leave a bit longer in the cooler months. We have never had a problem. She is very attentive and we love the way he looks after seeing her! The office staff has always been polite and courteous to us when we visit. All in all a good experience at Piper Glen Animal Hospital!!

I too, am confused about bad reviews regarding staff and grooming at Piper Glen Animal Hospital as I (and my pets) have only had positive experiences. The price for grooming is very affordable and I thought the quality of our dog's cut was exceptional. Probably the best she has ever had. Plus, the groomer called us on our first visit to talk about options as she is a mix between a poodle and schnauzer so her cut could go either way.
The stall are always lovely as well.

I was dog sitting and taking my mother's dog on a walk when he was attacked by a much larger dog and killed. I scooped him up and took him here on the recommendation of a neighbor. They were so kind and caring. Spent time with us..talked to us and gave us a "coffin" to take him home in and didn't charge a dime. (Not even my vet). Highly recommend! Huge thank you to the staff!

It's quite a drive from our house, but worth every minute! We lived in the Ballentyne area for a couple years and found Piper Glen Animal Hospital. We just moved to the South End and still go for checkups and grooming. Dr. Moorefield field is amazing! I couldn't speak more highly of anyone, and our dog, Maxwell, has seen several DVM's in his fifteen-year life. When there was a cancer scare-- and, he is a 15 year old Beardie--she gave us her honest recommendation and even cried! Fortunately it was nothing, but she was amazing during a stressful time for us. Definitely consider Piper Glen Animal hospital for all of your pets personal needs.

I want to give kudos to Piper Glen Animal Hospital. We have been taking our dog Jack there since we moved here two years ago. They have always treated us well but I wanted to write this after my recent experience.Our dog developed a hot spot on his skin. We noticed it one night and the following day, both my wife and I were going to work from home but we had conference calls back to back for most of the day. I called the vet early and they had me take a picture of the area, email it to them, and then told me what was needed to treat. We brought him in later that day and they took care of it in short order at a very reasonable cost. Thank you for the flexibility and great service!

We've had eight of our animals receive care with PGAH. Three of our dogs regularly see Ms. Sylvia for grooming and we would not use anyone else. They are Charlotte's best for sure!

These folks are professional, courteous and seem to genuinely care about your pets. I'm so glad they're nearby and our pup always leaves happy. We've boarded our dog here several times and she comes back bathed and refreshed - I love that they seem to really give the animals attention and they'll feed your food to your pups if you have a picky eater. Front desk staff is not snobby, they don't act like you're bothering them (as many local Ballantyne places do) and it's a pleasure to do business with Piper Glen Animal hospital. Thanks for all you do!!!

We moved our family from Huntersville to the south side of Charlotte in May of 2013 and needed a vet for our 2 aging dogs. My parents have been taking their dog to Piper Glen for years, so it was a natural move for us to do so, too. We've been VERY pleased with their Boarding and Vet services, and plan to keep coming here for many years to come. Our dogs see Dr. Wood, and he's really good. Only advice? For boarding, make sure you call plenty in advance, as they're very popular and get filled up way in advance for any major holidays.

We have been taking our pets to Piper Glen Animal Hospital for 8 years. We have two beloved shelties and have had 3 cats. One of whom died recently at the age of 18. We use Piper Glenn for everything - from preventative care such as yearly exams, teeth cleanings, and vaccines to grooming to whatever medical treatment may be needed for illness or injuries (which have luckily been few and far between, in part, due to the quality of preventative care our pets have received at Piper Glen.) I have always been pleased with their services but when our cat, Beaufort (18 years old) was dying from cancer, I was truly touched by the kindness and care we received from Dr. Lewis, in particular, and from everyone else we worked with at Piper Glen. They could not have been more helpful or more empathetic during a very difficult time. I honestly felt that they loved him as much as we did. After our mourning period, when we got our new kittens, there was no doubt they would go to Piper Glen and Dr. Lewis. I can not say enough good things and that is saying a lot. I am VERY PICKY when it comes to the care of my beloved pets. They are family members. If you are looking for skilled professionals who will love your animals as their own - I recommend Piper Glen. We have used them for everything except boarding - only because we don't board our animals - and have had good results from all.

I searched for a new vet/groomer for my baby and found this place. The staff is so nice and always very pleasant on the phone - the vet was so warm and friendly when I brought her in for an ear infection and she came back looking perfect from the groomer. They even sent a personal card after our visit. We have found our forever vet!

So disappointed recently. We have taken our pets to PGAH since about their 2nd year of operation. We have basically been satisfied over the years. They have always taken back anything we did not use or was inferior. We have a GSD who has bad allergies and her food alone(can food for a large dog) is about $300.00/ month plus other medication that we have to add. Recently she became more symptomatic so last week we picked up another medication and a new box of probiotics/enzymes, prebiotics. Not wanting to start both meds at the same time as I would not know what was working, I increased her prebiotic mix to twice a day. It seemed to do the trick in stopping her signs of irritation. So I called today to ask to return the other medication which was $54.00 . We have not opened it and will not use it. But we are stuck with it.They would not take it back. This hits hard as we spend so much to keep her in good shape and walk fine line with the finances of it all. I wish they had told me that it could not be returned. I would not have purchased it and just tried the one at a time. Not good customer service after so many years. Marge W

If your pet really have issue, do yourself a favor before you got rip off.Horrible on respecting your time - I was promised a follow up phone call due to a recent elevation on my dog kidney blood work( not to mention, they charge me almost $300 for a senior blood work (my dog is 7) and all kind of treatment ( fine I care about my dog) Never called on time, half day later I have to call back to follow up- put you on hold for 15 min (while I delayed one of my meeting cuz I care about my dogs condition), nothing, promised another call back.Finally got to speak to the vet, my dog never had vomiting or any symptom, but vet insisted he will, and telling me he might only live for another year...and stay on and on for 20 min instead let me ask for the question, she sounds like a bad sales man and try to sell all kind of services...Do me a favor. I don't care about $$, but I do want to know what's the reason you made those judgement call and what can we truly do to help him rather than sell those in house treatment - for example ask me to take my dog in hospital once a week and inject fluid. My dog never showed any symptoms as the vet indicated, he quickly went back to normal and happy dog. The vet made him sound 10 times worse and we are about to lose our long term best friend.If you truly care about the animal and owners feeling, please make yourself sounds more reasonable. I almost get no chance to speak since you took over almost the entire conversation and trying to make a business out of it.I will change my vet for sure! Bye!

They really give extra special attention to your pet. This is hard to find these days. When your pet is sick, you really want to find someone that seems to care for them almost as much as you do also....

Dr. Lewis is the best vet I’ve ever been to! My dog used to be terrified of going to the vet. She would shake and wine and I’d have to carry her around (she’s 45 pounds!). The staff at Piper Glen is so nice and welcoming, my dog struts right in now. Dr. Lewis explains things in terms I actually understand! I have a senior dog that needs a good amount of attention these days and the Dr. Lewis always lays out my options with no judgement. Just love this place!!

I just moved to Charlotte and have found my new vet/groomer!!
From the moment I walked in to the time I left, I was pleasantly greeted and treated. I took my kitty in for an ailment and Dr. Wood and staff took the time to know the entire history of my kitty. I even heard one of the nurse assistants telling Dr. Wood my whole story before he entered the room. That showed me that she was listening to every thing I said so that they could get to know us and provide my kitty with the best care and treatment possible.
Every employee in this establishment was genuinely nice. The setting is nice and apparently stocked with all needs, clean, comfortable and fresh. These are the qualities my vet in my old state told me to look for!
Can’t wait to bring my pooch in for her first grooming there!

I board my dog there every other week when I travel for business. They love her and she loves them. They are fantastic with my dog and it makes me feel a little better that I have to leave her so often that she is in good hands. I also use them as her vet so they have all her records. When I bring her in they know her by name and just treat her great. Love everyone over there they are just super friendly and great with my dog.

Dr. Wood is and has always been amazing with all of our dogs ... both those present and those that have passed. There have been many emergencies handled by way of a phone call until we could arrive to Piper Glen for Dr. Wood and his staff to take over. From trimming nails and cleaning teeth to both planned and emergency surgeries...there is no better than Dr. Wood. Both Dr. Wood and Jamie are like extended family to us because of the compassion they have for our four legged, furry family members! Karen and the entire staff welcomes us with a warm greeting each time we call or come in. I recommend Piper Glen Animal Hospital without hesitation.

I googled the number on the back of their tags the other day and nothing came up so I contacted the company, turns out they never registered them, my dogs have been walking around with blank microchips for months.

We have been with this group for several years. They assisted us when we had to put our beloved cat of 17 years down. Everyone was very kind and compassionate during the whole process. They now treat and groom our sweet Tucker (Cavapoo). Sylvia dotes on him when he is groomed and follows our instructions/requests to cut him shorter in the summer and leave a bit longer in the cooler months. We have never had a problem. She is very attentive and we love the way he looks after seeing her! The office staff has always been polite and courteous to us when we visit. All in all a good experience at Piper Glen Animal Hospital!!

I too, am confused about bad reviews regarding staff and grooming at Piper Glen Animal Hospital as I (and my pets) have only had positive experiences. The price for grooming is very affordable and I thought the quality of our dog's cut was exceptional. Probably the best she has ever had. Plus, the groomer called us on our first visit to talk about options as she is a mix between a poodle and schnauzer so her cut could go either way.
The stall are always lovely as well.

I was dog sitting and taking my mother's dog on a walk when he was attacked by a much larger dog and killed. I scooped him up and took him here on the recommendation of a neighbor. They were so kind and caring. Spent time with us..talked to us and gave us a "coffin" to take him home in and didn't charge a dime. (Not even my vet). Highly recommend! Huge thank you to the staff!

Even my dogs that are afraid of men love Dr. Wood. He is very gentle with them and they trust him. I also get my Pomchi groomed by Sylvia at Piper Glen. She does a great job and always listens to any specific instructions you may have.

It's quite a drive from our house, but worth every minute! We lived in the Ballentyne area for a couple years and found Piper Glen Animal Hospital. We just moved to the South End and still go for checkups and grooming. Dr. Moorefield field is amazing! I couldn't speak more highly of anyone, and our dog, Maxwell, has seen several DVM's in his fifteen-year life. When there was a cancer scare-- and, he is a 15 year old Beardie--she gave us her honest recommendation and even cried! Fortunately it was nothing, but she was amazing during a stressful time for us. Definitely consider Piper Glen Animal hospital for all of your pets personal needs.

I want to give kudos to Piper Glen Animal Hospital. We have been taking our dog Jack there since we moved here two years ago. They have always treated us well but I wanted to write this after my recent experience.Our dog developed a hot spot on his skin. We noticed it one night and the following day, both my wife and I were going to work from home but we had conference calls back to back for most of the day. I called the vet early and they had me take a picture of the area, email it to them, and then told me what was needed to treat. We brought him in later that day and they took care of it in short order at a very reasonable cost. Thank you for the flexibility and great service!

I have been going to PGAH for eight years now. LOVE the staff and Dr. Lewis. The staff always goes above and beyond to treat our pets and truly care about them. We've had eight of our animals receive care with PGAH. Three of our dogs regularly see Ms. Sylvia for grooming and we would not use anyone else. They are Charlotte's best for sure!

These folks are professional, courteous and seem to genuinely care about your pets. I'm so glad they're nearby and our pup always leaves happy. We've boarded our dog here several times and she comes back bathed and refreshed - I love that they seem to really give the animals attention and they'll feed your food to your pups if you have a picky eater. Front desk staff is not snobby, they don't act like you're bothering them (as many local Ballantyne places do) and it's a pleasure to do business with Piper Glen Animal hospital. Thanks for all you do!!!

We moved our family from Huntersville to the south side of Charlotte in May of 2013 and needed a vet for our 2 aging dogs. My parents have been taking their dog to Piper Glen for years, so it was a natural move for us to do so, too. We've been VERY pleased with their Boarding and Vet services, and plan to keep coming here for many years to come. Our dogs see Dr. Wood, and he's really good. Only advice? For boarding, make sure you call plenty in advance, as they're very popular and get filled up way in advance for any major holidays.

We have been taking our pets to Piper Glen Animal Hospital for 8 years. We have two beloved shelties and have had 3 cats. One of whom died recently at the age of 18. We use Piper Glenn for everything - from preventative care such as yearly exams, teeth cleanings, and vaccines to grooming to whatever medical treatment may be needed for illness or injuries (which have luckily been few and far between, in part, due to the quality of preventative care our pets have received at Piper Glen.) I have always been pleased with their services but when our cat, Beaufort (18 years old) was dying from cancer, I was truly touched by the kindness and care we received from Dr. Lewis, in particular, and from everyone else we worked with at Piper Glen. They could not have been more helpful or more empathetic during a very difficult time. I honestly felt that they loved him as much as we did. After our mourning period, when we got our new kittens, there was no doubt they would go to Piper Glen and Dr. Lewis. I can not say enough good things and that is saying a lot. I am VERY PICKY when it comes to the care of my beloved pets. They are family members. If you are looking for skilled professionals who will love your animals as their own - I recommend Piper Glen. We have used them for everything except boarding - only because we don't board our animals - and have had good results from all.
