Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital and Dr. Welch took care of both our dog for over 15 years. They provide the best and most loving care for animals. We recently had to put down our Sadie and they made this difficult time as easy as possible. If there are better, more capable people out there to take care of animals, i haven't found them, and I'm 73 years old. I've been driving up to Charlotte from Greenville S.C. for years to see the vets and all the staff at Sharon lakes, and have had nothing but excellence from them. All the vets (especially Dr's Welsh & Skinner, who we regularly see), techs, & reception are amazing. I've taking my dogs here since I was a child. As an adult they've helped me with three dogs, 2 since they were pups and one through going Over the Rainbow Bridge. Best vet in Charlotte IMO. We love Dr.Skinner ( though Lily does not let her know this) and the entire staff! Everyone is so pleasant. You can tell they LOVE animals as it shows!!! I started at Sharon Lakes more than 15 years ago with my Bulldog Ike! He was from a puppy mill and had terrible Demodedic Mange. Dr.Duckwall was Ike's doctor and literally saved his life! Dr. Weaver and the rest of the staff at Sharon Lakes took such wonderful care of our black lab. She lived to be 15 years old and I honestly believe that Dr. Weaver's care added 1-2 years to her life. The entire staff at Sharon Lakes is excellent and truly cared about our dog PJ. PJ was a patient there for all 9.5 years of his life and they loved him like one of their own. He had surgery for a minor growth, eye infection and ear infection treatment, itchy skin issues and more over the years, all resolved with their help. They discovered a cancerous growth on his behind when giving him a bath last April and partnered with us every step of the way in determining his treatment. We all decided that pain management and care were best for him and they were so supportive. With a three-month prognosis, he made it 9 months and we were able to spoil him every step of the way thanks to the great pain medicine and support of Dr. Skinner and the staff. He really did not suffer very much at all and lived a full and happy life right up until his last day. And when we had to take him in on his last day, he was wagging his tail and so happy to go see his friends at Sharon Lakes. We are so grateful for their caring treatment, support, and love over all these years. They very much support both pets and people and we recommend them wholeheartedly!Read Less

I've been bringing my dog here for over a year and absolutely love the staff. They are always very helpful and friendly and super good to my dog. They have done her yearly checkups, but also removed a growth from her ear and treated her seasonal allergies. Exceptional care! We use Dr. Skinner and I never feel like she's rushing us. We've moved a lot over the years and have been to many different vets. This is the best one that we have ever taken our pups to. We never get the feeling that they are trying to "nickel and dime" us and we truly believe that all the staff care deeply for the health and well being of our pups! They explain all the options, and always let us know if there is a better (or cheaper!) way to do things. I always walk out of there confident that our pups were in the best of hands. One particular day my older dog (Mya) kept throwing up so I called Sharon Lakes. Once I explained what was going on they put me directly on the phone with one of the vets; after hearing the symptoms (and learning that our pups ate/drank from raised water dishes-I had no idea those were so dangerous!) the vet suspected bloat and advised that I immediately seek care at an emergency animal hospital, as they would be better equipped to handle such a life-threatening condition. The vet didn't just wish me the best of luck and hang up; she called over to the emergency hospital to advise them of the potential emergency so that when we arrived, someone was waiting at the door to immediately take Mya back to be evaluated. The vet even called us the next day to see how she was doing. Although we plan to stay put and not move for a while, even if we do end up moving, I think we will make the drive to take our pups to Sharon Lakes regardless. On a side note, we got rid of those raised water/food bowls and I suggest you do too if you have them! I did some research and they are super dangerous.Read Less

My longtime vet Dr. Buckley, Buckley Animal Hospital off Pineville-Matthews Road, had some issues with renewing his lease in the shopping center where his business was located and he made the tough decision to close. Needless to say I was devastated. Dr. Buckley had forwarded my childrens' records to Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital. The staff at Sharon Lakes were very understanding of the situation with Dr. Buckley's patients and offered me a coupon for my first visit. Despite the obvious price difference between Dr. Buckley - we stayed with Sharon Lakes Animal Hospitals up until my fur children and I recently moved out of state (Fall of 2014). I first went to Sharon lakes when a friend recommended them for my new kittens. My cats are three now and we've always received great care and service from Sharon Lakes. The staff is always polite, knowledgeable and helpful. We have always seen Dr. Kelly Moore and she is phenomenal.
