Totalbond Veterinary Hospital At Paw Creek

Charlotte, North Carolina
General Info
Totalbond Veterinary Hospital At Paw Creek in Charlotte extends an invitation for pets to initiate movement while it follows afterward. Through each deliberate limb placement and body pause or lean the clinic establishes a reliable tempo for North Carolina's animals. Exam areas have entry points that allow pets to establish familiar spots such as chairs or corners by walking designated paths twice before contact occurs. When staff approach dogs they mimic body curves: a dog's leftward lean prompts them to mirror its arc. A cat stiffens while hands drop and stance becomes soft. Silence contains greater value than speech because it serves as a transitional marker while preventing pressure accumulation. The animal companion takes charge. The session follows. Totalbond Veterinary Hospital At Paw Creek delivers an array of services including digestive wellness endocrine condition tracking and orthopedic screening along with pain management diet coaching and long-range illness monitoring. Service delivery occurs exclusively when physical postures indicate readiness through forward ear positioning combined with steady breathing and untucked tail positions. The loss of calm pushes staff into a neutral state where they must rebuild trust before moving forward. Instructions sent home include movement-mirroring at key stress points before stairs before medicine and when guiding rest. The incorporation of lighting angles and scent locations ensures pets have consistent safety markers during their recovery process. Totalbond Veterinary Hospital At Paw Creek serves as a communication space through movement for pet owners in Charlotte and beyond where silence becomes signal and care begins from shared presence creating an endless loop beyond procedure.

I wouldn't even give them a star I mean I'm not kidding you this is got to be the worst vet I've ever been to. I told the girls she could cut my dog's nails that she has had them done numerous times before and she's like well we like to do it our way the first time to get them comfortable with us and we may not trim them all because we don't want to traumatize her and I said no you can trim them up she's had it done 3 times before. Now everyone knows that a dog don't like you touching their paws so needless to say they charged me $16 and trimmed for nails who does that and now if I was to take her back I would have to pay again so my dog is walking around now with only 4 nails done I literally paid them $16 to try to feed her peanut butter I've never been so disgusted and upset with a vet in my whole life and I have never made a bad comment about a vet but this I could not help I mean you're just there to rob people of money I can't believe they didn't finish cutting my baby's nails and I don't have money like that so now I have to take her somewhere else and pay full price again to have my baby's nails done right just please don't take your dog there to have their nails done I mean I can't say for other stuff I didn't never meet the doctor so it could be a wonderful vet in that area but just not for nails Read Less

My dogs, Riley & Sadie were due for some basic updates on vaccinations and tests. Total Bond is our new Vet clinic after moving out closer to the US National Whitewater Center & Dr. Bishop is my dogs' new Veterinarian. This is only the 3rd time I have been to Total Bond at Paw Creek, but they have a fantastic staff! Everyone is extremely friendly & professional. I never feel rushed and they are always on time. Obviously they are great with my dogs too. Dr. Bishop is great! She not only answers all my questions but she always gives me a few different scenarios/options for my dogs' care and that is something I really appreciate. We have been monitoring a knee injury (possible ACL tear) in my dog Sadie for a few weeks. Dr. Bishop again has been great. She answered all my questions during a visit several weeks ago and even put me in contact with the surgeon (should surgery be needed) whom also gave me about 30 minutes of his time on the phone. Neither Dr. Bishop nor the surgeon were trying to "push" surgery on my dog. If anything, I would say both were/are cautious about surgery: happy and confident to do it, but also not pushing it if not absolutely necessary. They both simply provided me all of the information at hand and answered all of my questions. We all agreed to simply monitor Sadie for a few weeks and see whether or not her knee would get worse or better- I am happy to report she is getting better all on her own! :) I don't feel this is a "sales orientated" clinic at all. I feel they truly want what is best for my dogs and my situation with my dogs. I also feel no judgement whatsoever for being a "balanced trainer" and dog owner which is nice. I am really happy with my dogs' care and their experiences at Total Bond so far! If anyone lives on the west side of Charlotte, I would definitely recommend Dr. Bishop and the staff at Total Bond Veterinary Hospital at Paw Creek! Thanks Dr. Bishop and staff. Read Less

I really disagree with the negative reviews -- that is not my experience. When our very old dog finally needed to be euthanized a few years ago , we could not have found a more caring vet and staff. I then got two puppies and have been bringing them to Total Bond ever since. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and all of the vets are excellent and spend lots of time with each animal patient. I've had both dogs groomed there, and they did a fantastic job. Once when I was there, an emergency came in and they dropped everything to attend immediately to the suffering dog. Then they apologized profusely for making me wait, when it was totally understandable and they did the right thing. I love Total Bond at Paw Creek and also Mountain Island. Read Less

I called and made a grooming appointment over a week in advance. I was placed on hold for literally 20 minutes just for her to 'check on the price', which was quoted at $75. I arrived for the appointment and was told my dog wasn't on their calendar AT ALL. Furthermore, they didn't even have a groomer there that day, just a bather. After I complained that I could (and would) have scheduled an appointment elsewhere for that day because I would not be able to reschedule right away due to my schedule, they agreed to 'fit him in' and have one of their technicians who 'used to do shave-downs' for them shave my dog. A few hours later I got a call from the technician, who was very nice but said his fur would be a little short since she had to shave him on their lowest setting because of the mats in his fur. She also said that she was not able to shave his front legs because he complained and growled when she messed with them, and that they were a "low-stress facility" so she couldn't do it if he was uncomfortable. I went to pick him up, and 'a little short' was an understatement. He had been shaven down almost to his skin. He is a black dog, and he looks pink his fur is so short. Not only am I worried about leaving him outside in this exposed condition, but he looks horrible: patchy, uneven, tufts of fur sticking out in random places with almost no fur in others . His undercoat is almost completely gone. His nails didn't even get trimmed, and that was specified on the intake sheet--which I signed at drop-off--as part of the grooming package. He still has matted fur behind his ears. Also, if this is such a "low-stress" facility, why was my dog so exhausted that he wouldn't get of the car when we got home? And why keep pushing me to have him sedated just for a shave-down, which he had never had trouble with anywhere else? The icing on the cake: not only did they not say a word about how bad he looked when I came to pick him up, they actually tried to charge me $105 instead of the $75 I was quoted. They said the difference was for the bath, which is ridiculous. I never heard of grooming not including a bath, and he has been to multiple places. I shouldn't even have paid the $75 for what is hands down the worst grooming experience we have ever had -- I could have done a better job at home with my farm store clippers. Read Less

So far, we have had a great experience with this vet (and we have had some real bad ones in the past). I see a few negative posts on here primarily complaining about taking blame for the condition of their pet, or upset about having to pay for shots. Sorry, you should keep your pet up to date on shots, inside dog or not. I was actually weary of whether or not this location was just digging for money at one point, when they wanted to bring my dog in for a surgery that was going to cost two grand. Irresponsibly, we declined and opted for the injury to heal on its own. It got better, but then two months later, we were back at square one with a limping puppy. We should have taken care of this months ago, and we feel so guilty that we didn't. These people know what they are talking about. Everyone has been super friendly there, with us and both our pups. The atmosphere is generally happy and laid back. The only thing I would warn someone about, and this isn't a complaint, is that the employees do bring their pets to work. There are typically one or two dogs present, but they are kept behind the door where the employees are, so they can't interact with your animals. There is also a cat that strolls the building, but he/she is also friendly and stays away from animals. I've never seen a mess from these animals, so I have to assume they are cleaned up after regularly. Again, this is not a complaint. I feel it shows the kind of animal lovers they are. I only mention it because some people maybe wouldn't appreciate it. To each their own. Read Less

I will NEVER go back to Total Bond. Communication is HORRIBLE! By far the worst experience I have EVER had in communicating with a business. And after our first boarding experience, I strongly believe that they neglected our dogs while they were being boarded. I also believe that they lied about treatments provided for our dogs; they claimed they provided flea medication, but when our dogs returned home from boarding AND grooming, they had fleas. They did not have fleas before spending the weekend at Total Bond. More detail below: Problem 1: We signed up for their monthly plan in 2015, which was supposed to cover 2 appointments, shots, flea meds, etc. for one year We didn't need the 2nd appointment, grooming appointments, or the boarding so we weren't ever there. Fast forward to almost a year later, and we go in to find out we have a balance of almost $400 because, apparently, the payment method I had provided had expired. (Unfortunately, I have Bank of America and they've sent me two new cards with "updated security" since we started using Total Bond). Since the old cards don't work, payments haven't gone through twice. The problem lies in the fact that we were NEVER notified that the payments didn't go through. They just let the failed payments continue for almost a YEAR until we walked into the office, expecting to simply renew our plan. As we weren't expecting to have to shell out $400 at that appointment, we ended up signing up for another year to pay off the previous year and we have a 2nd dog that requires the grooming & boarding that's included under the plan. We figured we wouldn't experience the problem again, but lo & behold, we go back in last month after BofA switched my card number again, for my husband to be charged almost $200 for failed payments because, again, they failed to notify me of the problem (Keep in mind I've been busy working, planning our wedding, and being in graduate school, and every other company notifies me when an automatic payment doesn't go through, so it's easy for this to slip my mind). This last time, I asked if they could take my checking account number to avoid future problems, and they said they can't do that, which is absurd. Problem 2: We got married in May. We needed to board our dogs in Mooresville, near the venue. The boarding location required documentation of shots, meds, etc. I called Total Bond, asking them to fax our dogs information to the boarding place. I ended up calling almost 10 times over 2 months, not including emails, calls made by my husband, or the calls that the staff at the boarding location made. This level of neglect and incompetence is UNACCEPTABLE! Problem 3: Let me make it clear that our dogs have FANTASTIC bladder control - they never use the bathroom inside. They even run outside when they're about to throw up. There is never poop, pee, or vomit in our house or cars. So, we had to board the dogs last month. I made the mistake of assuming they had actually let our dogs out to use the bathroom sometime in the past 24 hours. Before I could complete the 2-minute drive home, one dog had pooped in the car. Before I could get the dogs through the living room to the back door, the same dog peed inside and the other dog had pooped inside. They can hold it for at least 8 hours every other day while we're at work so why was this such a problem? That has NEVER happened in our household. After going outside, our dog who is a VERY finnicky eater dives into his food bowl as if he hasn't eaten in 2 days. I have NEVER seen that dog scarf down food so fast. I have a hard time believing that Total Bond actually took care of our dogs while they were in their care. Between the absurd hunger, and poop & pee EVERYWHERE, I can't trust it. They also said they gave our dogs flea meds while they were there, but we noticed they had fleas the day after they came home, despite supposedly receiving flea medication & grooming. I went to Petsmart and bought flea meds instead of returning. I will NEVER go back to Total Bond.Read Less

All they would say is that its normal practice to charge this to all customers. They charged two fees for triming the nails at $13.50 each. And wouldn't refund her the over charge.
